Are people actually going out?

I live on a very quiet close and I've only been out once since lockdown started, to the supermarket, where everyone who was there was allowed to be. I haven't seen anyone flouting the rules, because I haven't been anywhere to witness it IYSWIM. But I've seen so many social media posts urging people to not break the rules, to stay home, to take it seriously etc. Are a lot of people still going out when they shouldn't? Have you witnessed this? Is it just a few people or a fair amount?

Everyone I know is following the rules. Apart from my 85 year old uncle....😳

I haven’t been out since Monday and that was for a food shop. Trying to minimise it as much as possible. Feeling it today though, in a slump today. Oddly, have seen more and more people out in the street walking (our living room window is right at street level as a terraced) so not sure if it’s isolation fatigue or just people out for daily walks.

I walked to the small sainsbury's today and the roads and pavements were packed. I've been for a daily walk all week and today's been the worst.

I think everyone I know is obeying the rules.

My daughter has heard that lots of the kids from
School are still meeting up and going to each other houses for sleepovers.

I spoke to some over 70s as part of my job today and half of them were still going out

I’ve been out every day for a walk. I’ve also been shopping for people isolating at home or vulnerable.

That’s within the guidelines though.

I’ve not left the house in two weeks but I’ve hardly seen anyone our the front. Only dog walkers who cross the road to avoid each other and people walking to the shops.

I go out for a walk every other day or so. I think road traffic has been steadily increasing - used to be a ghost town near me when lockdown was first announced, but it seems like rush hour traffic has almost returned at this point!

I think most people are following them, certainly most people I know. There are a few posts on the local fb pages about teenagers gathering here and there, not sure whether they are lying to their parents about where they are going or their parents just don't care.
A few people I know are breaking the MN/Facebook made up laws (using their car to go somewhere quieter to walk the dog)

It really annoys me as I am missing my family like crazy and yet over the road regularly has their grandchildren visiting.

I know loads who are carrying on as normal. Treating it like an extended holiday!

I have a daily walk five days a week. The other two days I go to the supermarket.

4 adults, 3 working from home and one uni student - wfh. Getting through industrial quantities of food. DH and DC have a daily walk or run.

Except for last w/e when half the 8 houses in my road had visitors, people are being very compliant here. Oh and the half with visitors were: Dr, Dentist, Pharmacist and former v senior hosp mgr, so I assume they know better! The lawyers and accountants kept to the rules.

Everyone I know is , in fact I haven't even seen my neighbours apart from NDN and I heard a couple talking outside this morning when I was in the bathroom .

I’m in central London & it’s been busier in the last few days (from what I can see from my balcony).
I took my 2 DDs for a walk today, the first time they’ve been out in over a week & the local park was pretty busy & the streets had quite a few couples out for walks. We came back after 15 mins & I don’t think I’ll be taking them out again for as long as I can stand it. They get fresh air from the balcony & we have a large communal hallway on each floor so I’ll run them around there for exercise.
My friend in the borough next to me goes out with her DC twice a day despite her partner being quite ill with CV symptoms for over a week. Lots of people aren’t sticking to the guidelines here.

My knobhead neighbour has had grandchildren visiting and girlfriend staying over. I think most around here are complying but seems to be some of the oldies thinking they are exempt for some strange reason!

It’s a mixed bag here to be honest (Norfolk). We are very rural and most people are following the rules but we do have a lot of issues with older teens just driving about and meeting up and doing whatever they like!

This is part of the problem though, isn't it, we're all missing someone, and for some people, if they see others breaking the rules and feeling the injustice of it, they could easily think "sod it, I may as well do it as well".

I'm not saying that's what you will do, I just think that some people could.

Thankfully it's dead round here & everyone crosses the road to avoid each other!

Went out yest to get supplies from Sainsburys local there were people everywhere on pavements and in cars it was ridiculous

I've gone out for daily walk to within the guidelines both me my DH and toddler DCs have had to occasionally get out for a walk and breather but we don't go anywhere else other than our garden at times

There are enough people who do go out to ruin it for the rest of us.

The most amusing thing is people who have never considered walking to school ever who suddenly are in a massive rush to take their kids for a walk.

Don't get me wrong, I am all in favour of exercise but it's hilarious that families who were content going from their car to their sofa to watch a screen, even putting tv in their toddler's bedroom!, all these families suddenly MUST go for a "daily exercise".

The government should have imposed restrictions much sooner, for decades people have been told to stop eating crap and move, the minute they can't, they are out!

No idea, I live at the bottom of a little cul-de-sac so no passing traffic but we I have been out there has been a few people around.

I live close to the local shops so expect some more movement around there. According to the local FB group they are all at one of the local green spaces, and there is lots of frothing because they have got there by car.

I have been out every single day, for at least 1 your, either running or walking. Not once have I broken a social distancing rule.

I can’t believe how many people are not leaving their properties at all, my mental health would be truly shattered if I didn’t (whilst recognising this allowance may be changed) we could be here for 3/4 months.

Locking yourself into your home (unless you have a serious underlying health condition) is madness imo.
