Does everyone who get it end up in hospital?

Just wondering people’s thoughts on this.

I feel like I may have already had it. But now I’m not sure as so many are ending up in hospital. But then look at BoJo, Matt Hancock and Prince Charles. It’s so confusing.

Do you mean that the figures we have are largely drawn from the hospital population, because that's true enough at this point.

Topseyt · 03/04/2020 14:56

As with many viruses including those that cause seasonal colds and flu, you can have them, carry them around with you and be completely asymptomatic. Other people will develop symptoms with a range of severity. The severe ones will need hospital treatment. Most of the mild to moderate ones won't and will be able to manage it themselves at home.

That is how it is.

I've read the replies, but I am none the wiser, does everyone who gets it end up in hospital?

inwood · 03/04/2020 15:11

No. Of course not.

Porcupineinwaiting · 03/04/2020 15:12

@Vegan no, the vast majority of people who get it will not end up in hospital.

StrawberryJam200 · 03/04/2020 15:12

Veganveal, no, the vast majority of people who get it do not need hospital treatment.

MaxNormal · 03/04/2020 15:15

No most people don't end up in hospital. Of course not.

cinammonbuns · 03/04/2020 15:31

Obviously not?

MerryDeath · 03/04/2020 15:36

read better newspapers!

MoreGruel · 03/04/2020 15:37

@VeganVeal that was too perfect Grin

Nonnymum · 03/04/2020 15:39

No of course not, only the very serious cases end up in hospital where people can't breathe. One reason it is so serious is it kills some people but hardly affects others. So some people may have it and not know infecting others

tenlittlecygnets · 03/04/2020 16:09

Of course they won't! You only have to read a couple of articles to see that most people do not need hospital treatment.

If the news is stressing you so much, step away from it!

VeganVeal · 03/04/2020 16:12

@MoreGruel Smile Its so easy

VeganVeal · 03/04/2020 16:15

Almost too easy

Does everyone who get it end up in hospital?
LaurieFairyCake · 03/04/2020 16:22

Hang on 1 in 5/6 will end up in hospital ???

That CANNOT be true as that's going to 3.5 MILLION people over the course of this virus

FourTeaFallOut · 03/04/2020 16:23

To be fair, the 1 in 5 is information recalled from six weeks ago, I'm happy to step back over newer/ more reliable information.

Selfsettling3 · 03/04/2020 19:31

The NHS don’t plan to admit everyone to hospital if they are very ill

Gfplux · 03/04/2020 19:35

No chance if you are over 75 and in a care home.
