Good: Arnold Swarzenegger -self isolating with his miniature donkey and donating $1m for ppe
Joe Wicks -the nation's PE teacher.

Bad: Dominic Cummings- legging it with the Downing St toilet rolls and now holed up in his bunker self isolating.
Alok Sharma- I just read an article saying the government are using him to bore people into stop watching the daily update and asking all those awkward questions about testing.

I still think celebs can be seen as "good" if they are doing something they would normally do for free, people who are on lockdown need a bit of entertainment. But it has to be in the right spirit not just a bit of self publicity.

Good:

Student nurses
Nurses
Doctors
Supermarket workers
Truck drivers
Delivery staff
Takeaway staff
Other NHS workers
Cleaners
Teachers
Britney Spears
Taylor swift
Ryan Reynolds
Blake lively
Piers Morgan

Bad:

Fucking hell, where d’ya start! So many businesses have treated their staff abysmally and so many people are being arseholes it’s be a very long list!

TravellingSpoon · 02/04/2020 15:17

Good,- Jon Bon Jovi for working to feed homeless from one of his restaurants.

Bad- the idiot from Wetherspoons and Micahel Gove.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 02/04/2020 15:21

Good - joe Wicks, Jamie Oliver for cooking up store cupboard stuff to help us. (Not normally a fan)

Bad - China for giving the world this virus.

JustMySize · 02/04/2020 15:24

@MoreGruel

When you have an extra person in the house due to school being closed and isolating due to a vulnerable adult, and not being able to get a delivery slot ANYWHERE (taken by those who think it is more important that they can go out somewhere other than the shop) which means I have to go do a shop and I have to buy enough to last 2, 3 or more weeks then it means I HAVE to pick up that extra tin, packet, etc. Otherwise I am putting the vulnerable person at risk by going out shopping every week or more.

BAD - @MoreGruel for your comment:-

All the people picking up ‘just a bit extra’ when they shop and therefore leaving the shelves bare for others

BAD - China for being to blame for this whole bloody mess in the first place.

Tanith · 02/04/2020 15:27

Good: Gary Neville

Wehttam · 02/04/2020 15:28

Joe Wicks will become a national treasure to a whole swath of the UK population after all of this. Expect a knighthood in the next 10 years. It will be interesting to see what he does after this because he has the unique position of engaging with an entire generation pretty much. His star will rise very fast, watch this space.

LightACandleHoney · 02/04/2020 15:33

Good

  • Leo, and the 2 Simons
  • Michelle O’Neill (don’t think I’ve ever said that before)
  • Rishi Sunak
  • Joe Wicks (even though he talks way too much!)
  • Tesco and M&S
  • Our local farm shop who haven’t just changed their entire business to online but have also put up simple training videos for (their mainly) elderly customers to teach them how to place orders, and have taken on extra staff solely with the purpose of manning phones in the loveliest way to take orders from those who can’t work out the online thing.
  • All 3 schools that my DC attend. All absolutely outstanding in their response.

Bad

  • Boris (too slow to respond)
  • Trump (no explanation needed)
  • Our local leisure centre who stayed open way beyond what was safe and just told customers to bring a towel to wipe equipment down.
  • Wetherspoons
  • Sainsburys
  • The school I work in. (Woeful response)

@ TheDrsDocMartens what has Waterstones done?

noblegiraffe · 02/04/2020 16:05

Good - all the people putting out free stuff for kids to do, all the education sites who are giving free access for home schooling

Bad - Britannia hotels for kicking out the homeless.

Fedupandpoor · 02/04/2020 16:17

Are there any celebrities who are rolling their sleeves up and actually mucking in with people, delivering things to the vulnerable regularly, helping at foodbanks, actively doing things that you or I would do, instead if playing to the camera , singing, prancing around and saying how wonderful they are... but not DOING anything?

Bon Jovi

TheDrsDocMartens · 02/04/2020 16:26

I was going to add Jon Bon Jovi as good too.

Waterstones stayed open until everyone kicked off. No support for staff.

TheSpottedZebra · 02/04/2020 16:34

Johnny Vegas has been out delivering food and supplies in his locality.

Some love island people have gone back to caring / nhs roles. Ok they probably put everything on Instagram, but they are of that generation anyway.

Iwannabeadored20 · 02/04/2020 16:37

@MissAmandaLaikes

Do you have a link about Assad?

Numbness2020 · 02/04/2020 16:38

Good. My employer. A large housing association in SW.

Not so good a previous employer. Medium sized HA.

Glad I moved although I’d be fully remote working if I’d stayed and am now on frontline in one of only 4 roles in organisation. They’ve been really flexible though.

Good DWP for upsurge in UC claims. Need more remote working provisions though. Staff are at risk in service centres but now desks have been spaced.

Numbness2020 · 02/04/2020 16:39

And Jon Bon jovi. Agree

TheDrsDocMartens · 02/04/2020 16:45

Russell Crowe was promoting Johnny Vegas food drive.

An MP has gone back to her previous care job to help out

Stellaris22 · 02/04/2020 16:53

Disagree with Jamie Oliver being good.

Not when it should have clearly been Jack Monroe who has lived through poverty and already has cookbooks about store cupboard cooking. I feel Jamie is just cashing in on this.

Pulppixies · 02/04/2020 16:58

Good - Boris Johnson

Bad - Corbyn/McDonnell criticising just because

Standrewsschool · 02/04/2020 16:58

Good - Boris, doing better than expected
Rishi - financial measures etc
Performers, musicals etc doing free live stream concerts etc, I’ve listened to lots
Volunteer groups that are helping everyone

Bad - people who flout the rules

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 02/04/2020 17:04

Jamie Oliver isn't interested in helping anyone but himself.

toryandproud · 02/04/2020 17:10

Good:

  • Donald Trump
  • Rishi Sunak
  • James Dyson

Bad:

  • Public Health Quangocrats
  • Footballers
  • Sadiq Khan
  • the WHO
Selmaselma · 02/04/2020 17:12

Ridiculously bad - Boris Johnson
Good - Andrew Cuomo

LooQoo · 02/04/2020 17:14

Good - Joe Wickes but don’t forget David Walliams, Carol Vorderman and Jamie Oliver - they are also doing free classes for kids.

Bad - Richard Branson and Premiership Football teams for using public money to furlough their staff. What the actual fuck and why has this been allowed?

LooQoo · 02/04/2020 17:18

We need this list in 6 months time - so we can all decide where to spend and where to boycott.

Hopefully we won’t all forget who has behaved well and who hasn’t.
