“284 new cases have tested positive for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Wales, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,121, although the true number of cases is likely to be higher.

“19 further deaths have been reported to us of people who had tested positive for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), taking the number of deaths in Wales to 117”

Aurea · 02/04/2020 14:04

Scottish test numbers: 02 April 2020
A total of 18,128 people in Scotland have been tested. Of these:
• 15,526 tests were confirmed negative
• 2,602 tests were positive
• 126 patients who tested positive have died

Is that 50 more deaths in Scotland? That's a huge number.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 02/04/2020 14:06

Another 568. 😥😥

WhoWants2Know · 02/04/2020 14:08

How will crematoriums deal with this?

Random18 · 02/04/2020 14:09

I actually expected the number to be higher.

It's still way too high but slightly less.than yesterday.

Sunshinesky1981 · 02/04/2020 14:14

Is the 568 for England or UK whole?

Random18 · 02/04/2020 14:17

UK I believe

mrshoho · 02/04/2020 14:17

Our local crematorium has built large temporary structures.

lemonjumper · 02/04/2020 14:17

Nicola Sturgeon has just said at the briefing that Scotland's deaths based only on health board reporting using lab confirmation (the usual method of reporting) is 10, but they were advised overnight of a further 40 deaths which had not previously been notified due to delays in family liaison.

lemonjumper · 02/04/2020 14:22

From next week, Scottish figures will also include deaths where COVID-19 is mentioned on the death certificate. This will include confirmed cases and presumed cases, in all settings (hospital, community etc.)

Both chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine can have serious side effects, especially at high doses or when combined with other medicines. They must not be used without a prescription and without supervision by a doctor; prescriptions should not be given outside their authorised uses except in the setting of a clinical trial or nationally agreed protocols.

Mary1935 · 02/04/2020 14:28

Where does the 568 number come from, I can’t see the stats.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 02/04/2020 14:29

Sorry correction its 569. Sky news got it wrong!

Michelleoftheresistance · 02/04/2020 14:30

More than 1000 people in two days. It's just shocking to try to take in.

MurrayTheMonk · 02/04/2020 14:32

Such a big number again Sad

Care home update-I've now been here for 4 straight days and nights. Was looking forward to going to see my kids this eve but have now got to stay til 9 as yet another off sick.
I've had enough.

Just been in a two hour line to pick up 300 government issued face masks. Got to end of line to be presented with 50. We use 15-20- day at the minute Sad

Now in a. Big line outside Morrison's to get bread and milk for home. Naturally it's just started to drizzle. Feel like crying.

picklemewalnuts · 02/04/2020 14:39

Oh Murray! I wish we could help!

There's no way people like you should be queuing for supplies after work.
I'm so sorry.

itsallwrongisntit · 02/04/2020 14:39

@MurrayTheMonk

Thanks for you.

You do amazing work and I take my hat off to you all x

mrshoho · 02/04/2020 14:39

@MurrayTheMonk what a horrible situation you are in. Whereabouts in the country are you? Locally here there has been a huge outpouring of help to get PPE to settings that need it. Theve mobilised teams to collect from schools, construction, health and beauty places and are then distributing quickly. Have you checked in your area if there's anything similar? The shame of this is that there are boxes of these sitting somewhere instead of being delivered.

georgedawes · 02/04/2020 14:40

I'm so sorry Murray. You and your colleagues in care are true heroes, yet get neither the pay nor recognition you deserve. Can I ask roughly where you are in the country?

BeyondMymymymyCorona · 02/04/2020 14:47

Murray :( Flowers wish there was something we could do!

defthand · 02/04/2020 14:53

I’m confused. NHS England has reported 561 died in England in this reporting period. Scotland has said 50, and Wales 19.

The actual total is 630 then, isn’t it? What am I missing?

Michelleoftheresistance · 02/04/2020 14:55

Murray is there any local florist or grocer who has shifted to doing deliveries of basics that would do a group drop off to the care home? Any way that the deliveries booked for care home groceries could be extended for staff to buy key basics to be delivered alongside? The last thing you need after working like this is hours standing in queues Flowers

MurrayTheMonk · 02/04/2020 15:00

No slots for online for big shops. I've ordered a load of extra milk from my own milkman at home but I haven't been home to bring it in Grin

MurrayTheMonk · 02/04/2020 15:02

We're in north herts... chemist got us some gloves at least! Just the face masks. Enough to last a week now which is a mercy ( we had a few left before and these today to tide us over). I've asked on my Facebook and all my staff have as well if anyone local has anything.hopefully the council will come through.
Head office also on the case so fingers crossed.

MurrayTheMonk · 02/04/2020 15:04

When I said Bread and. Milk for home I meant care home...which feels very much like my home at the moment Grin
