Has anyone got their sense of smell and tatlste back yet?

Day 15 for me. Another downturn day after feeling perkier yesterday.

No smell or taste since Fri 20th (day7).

Hi, I'd forgotten I'd made this post. Jeez, I wonder if I repeat myself so much in real life as I've just posted about it again.

Chest still tight and really missing being able to smell/taste. Day 25 for me and I lost it day 9. I literally catch a waft in a breeze, but it's gone again in an instant. I used to have a nose like a dog. It's making me really anxious.

Im sure it will come back everyone else's has! Ive had nothing for 2 week cant smell a bloody thing no other symptoms, if u had i would at least thing maybe i had corona but just this makes me wonder what the hell it is

Chocqueen I’ve read that Corona can cause loss of smell but no other symptoms 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yy, apparently v common among otherwise asymptomatic people. There are quite a few reports of doctors recommending self isolation if you suddenly lose taste and smell for no apparent reason.

@sleepwhenidie I've realised that it whiffs that I can smell. I can occasionally catch and identify a 'distant smell' but it's gone as quickly as it arrived. For example, during a walk, I could smell a sweet fragrance. Husband identified it as a flower, but I could smell absolutely nothing when I stuck the flower under my nose and sniffed. Nothing. One waft and it was gone again.

It’s strange isn’t it! I smelt burnt toast this morning but nothing else all day and still have the smell stuck in my nose !

My senses of taste and smell have slowly returned this week and I am 3.5 weeks after the initial symptoms. The taste seems to be coming back quicker than the smell. DH ate kippers right next to me today and I couldn't smell them. Prior to this I had a very good sense of smell.
I still have a slight blocked up nose and very slight chest restriction. Its taking a long time but I'm 95% now.

I just asked my DS if he'd had his toast yet. He said he ate it about 30 mins ago. Didn't smell that at all. Such a lovely smell 😢

I cant smell a bloody thing for 14days now at least uve had other symptoms so u know it was something! Ive had nothing an wonder what it was all about

@chocqueen. I've felt so poorly, I thought I'd die. I don't recommend it.

On week 3 of no smell now, I can taste but not fully. Has anyone else’s sense of smell taken this long to come back??

I’m day 14, list it around day 14, thought I could maybe taste my lunch ever do slightly this afternoon but nothing since, but it’s given me hope.

I think some of them do. There are people on another thread now asking what's the big deal and saying it's nothing because they don't know anybody with it. For some people, it will only be real when someone they know gets it and they might follow the rules better when it hits home for them.

Day 29 and I can taste fully and smell most of the time. It’s almost the only symptom left though so that’s good.

Lost my sense of smell and taste on 1st April, I can taste certain things now and again but it's not back by a long shot. On the plus side I've lost just over half a stone.

Mine isnt properly back yet and I had first symptoms over 4 weeks ago. I really hope it does come back fully.

Mine started very slowly coming back on day 15, nearly back properly now, but still not quite there, day 19.

Has anyone else had weird experiences where they can smell things that aren’t there? I had one day of complete smell
loss maybe a week ago but now have random smells that I smell strongly for a moment and then can’t smell at all... and no one else smells what I do? So today o could smell perfume in one room but no one could and then I went back in and couldn’t either. Then toast smelt like roasting garlic to me... I’m wondering if I have a sinus infection rather than anything to do with covid19 😬

Mines 3 week tommorow no sense of smell and no taste since saturday ive been able to smell bits of perfume and aomw vinegar if i sniff the bottle but its not gettin any better so far! Btw no idea if i had corona as had no other symptoms just a slight cold! Its annoying me now tho no smell am taste

Yeah mine @wirelessprinter 3 sn half week and i can only smell a few strong things but have been like this a week & no improvement yet! It feels like so long it best bloody come back fully, had a takeaway earlier & it was just pointless
