Just that really, are you allowing your DC to play out with neighbours children with everything going on?

No, because to quote from the wonderful Old Harry's Game by Andy Hamilton (thoroughly recommend for cheerful distraction) "I am not a moron with cat-shit for brains."

Sadly, unlike your neighbours, Lego.

TheReluctantCountess · 27/03/2020 10:22

Are you telling them that they shouldn’t be calling for your dc when they ring the doorbell?

IdblowJonSnow · 27/03/2020 10:22

No! Defeats the object of lockdown and being off schools!
Ring the police.

Weregoingonanadventure · 27/03/2020 10:23

Have you called the police about them gathering and the children playing? You're meant to report gatherings.

gamerchick · 27/03/2020 10:24

You could always go on your facebook local police page and ask if there's any way to enforce the supposed lockdown because it's business as usual where you are. They might do the rounds if they have the people spare.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 27/03/2020 10:24

No but young children don't play out in my area anyway because it's not safe. I've seen loads of moaning on Facebook about teens out in groups together though.

fireflower998 · 27/03/2020 10:24

No. But my nearby neighbours have allowed their kids to whizz up and down the street on their skates all morning. It's a quiet cul de sac, but I still wouldn't allow this. What if another house did the same and then the kids were playing with each other? Children don't understand this thing.

TheSandman · 27/03/2020 10:27

So why am I the only one in my area NOT allowing my DC to play out? confused

Because you are doing the right thing. They are not.

Literally every neighbouring child is playing together apart from mine. My doorbell is constantly being rang. Just told them DC won’t be out. confused

Could you disconnect the doorbell? Take the batteries out/ or pull the plug? or whatever and stick a notice on the door saying "X is not coming out to play!".

(Substituting your kid's name for X obviously.)

(Unless your kid's name IS actually 'X' which would be SOOO cool. )

LegoBloodyHurts · 27/03/2020 10:29

TheReluctantCountess Yes I am each. Bloody. Time!! They must know I’m not allowing DC out to play so, it sure why they persist. Confused

Iyes making me pretty anxious to be honest.

@Reginabambina
You never played out as a child? Never went down the park to play football? Never played curbie? Never played hide and seek round all the kids' gardens? Never went for walks with your friends?

What sort of locked down childhood did you have? And you dont let your kids play outside during normal life?

LegoBloodyHurts · 27/03/2020 10:32

I’d feel like a cow ringing the police Blush

The problem is I can hear them in the garden next door. Lots of coughing, so if one household has it, they’ll all have it!

I am taken aback by people just not taking this seriously Sad

Staypositivepeople · 27/03/2020 10:34

Houses in front and behind me ,have been doing every day
Groups of older teens smoking weed all dotted about

Staypositivepeople · 27/03/2020 10:35

Not enough police to enforce what pathetic parents wont

TiredofSM · 27/03/2020 10:37

I thought this was a joke post at first.
Unbelievable.
I would call the police no doubt about it.

foamrolling · 27/03/2020 10:38

Do you have a number for your local pco? Sounds like the street needs a visit or at least some leaflets through doors.

Candyfloss99 · 27/03/2020 10:40

You wouldn't be a cow ringing the police. You'd be a responsible, moral person.

copycopypaste · 27/03/2020 10:40

I'd be ringing someone to tell them to come and make sure they all go back home. How irresponsible

GarlicSoup · 27/03/2020 10:45
Biscuit
GarlicSoup · 27/03/2020 10:45

For them not you OP

DownyBuds · 27/03/2020 10:45

Do you have a local Facebook group? Ours is full of people calling people out for this type of behaviour. And the playing out has now stopped. I may even get an account in a false name for this purpose.....

tinkywinkyshandbag · 27/03/2020 10:46

I am afraid to say I would be ringing the police for this, it's just not on. And every time they come to your door they are potentially bringing the virus to your house.

1forsorrow · 27/03/2020 10:46

Lego that must be a nightmare for you and your kids. Torture for them looking out the window and seeing everyone having fun. I hope they are old enough to understand.

Bojo1 · 27/03/2020 10:49

They’re all playing out in my neighbourhood as well.

LEELULUMPKIN · 27/03/2020 10:50

It's bloody selfish idiots like this who will make this last far longer for the rest of us.

If you want it to end asap OP ring the cops. You are NOT a cow!
