Who can stay 2m away from a toddler?

No proper guidance anywhere!

What do you do? Isolate the entire house for three months?

That’s interesting, thanks. I registered on the vulnerable person website yesterday so hopefully that’ll work.

Im wondering if once the vulnerable person thing has been processed you may be assigned a supermarket portal for basic supplies.
Im just guessing though

Well you never know.

I think all this talk of volunteers makes people think something is actually happening.

VivaLeBeaver · 26/03/2020 10:36

Doing the same as Rodent01. DD is shielded. Been lucky with online slots so far but still had to nip out for stuff which hasn't been delivered. Go quick, wear a mask, wear disposable gloves, was hands on return.

dd is a teenager so shut up in her bedroom is normal status anyway. We hardly see her.

I think the volunteers thing will take a little while to get up and running.

I would imagine, though I don't know, that there would have to be some sort of checks to ensure volunteers are "suitable people" and not undercover axe murderers, rapists and money launderers!

They also talk about matching local volunteers to local "extremely vulnerable people", so that will take a bit of time to set up.

The other thing is that they are trying to build all this on shifting sand.

I'm the shielder in this house and DH is stringently following the social distancing guidelines.

We will be ok, as long as he stays well.
If he goes down, we're both f**ked!

And, of course, volunteers aren't exempt from contracting this virus so, no doubt, there will be much reshuffling and reorganising going on almost hourly.

But, on the bright side ,we have electricity, running water and Mumsnet .😉

I'm researching for my sister who is shielding (her husband's immune system is compromised) with two young children. She is looking for a support group with Mums in a similar situation, as she's finding it really hard. Would love to find one for her. Any ideas welcome.
