DH is rationing wine

On the basis that you can only buy two bottles and we shouldn't shop more than once a week...Shock

I haven't been near a shop for a few days, have things calmed down? Can we buy wine freely again when I go later in the week?

Order online..... I am not rationing just limiting to two days a week which is less than normal-simply because I’m worried during the next 12 weeks I could turn into an old soak.....

ShellsAndSunrises · 24/03/2020 19:17

Where are you shopping? Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s are allowing four of most things, two of really in demand things like pasta and toilet roll.

shampoofarrow · 24/03/2020 19:17

You can only buy two bottles?

Is this all shops? 😬😬😬

RozHuntleysStump · 24/03/2020 19:19

I bought six the other day in Asda. It was OK because it was three different brands so just two of each.

Fatted · 24/03/2020 19:20

LTB.

It is only two per items. So you can buy two bottles of white, two bottles of red, two rose etc.

I'm afraid there will be alcohol shortages by the time I'm off work next week!!

Frenchfemme · 24/03/2020 19:20

Buy 2 boxes?!

DoubleAction · 24/03/2020 19:22

I think he went to Tesco on Saturday, the morning after the pubs had closed. I hope things have eased a bit now.

He may also have been making that point superram Blush

They're limiting purchases.

I was only allowed 3 bags of cat food today, originally had 4.

But if you buy different brands of wine I don't think it would count.

Also; buy it on Amazon.

DrWAnker · 24/03/2020 19:24

Kill him and drink his wine.

maybegreyhound · 24/03/2020 19:25

My aldi wine order came today, ordered last Wednesday so a bit slower than normal but still worth it

Dongdingdong · 24/03/2020 19:27

Normally anyone who drinks a bottle of wine a week is branded a raging alcoholic on MN anyway.

Oysterbabe · 24/03/2020 19:28

I bought a case online, it arrived today. Our local supermarket has no limit on alcohol.

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/03/2020 19:33

My FIL is visiting. Wine is medication.

TheLinerunner · 24/03/2020 19:34

I don't think there's any limit on wine other than the shop's normal '#number per item' rules.

I had to go to Morrison's last Friday to look for paracetamol. I did notice all the gin had gone. I mean, ALL the gin.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 24/03/2020 19:36

We currently have the makings of 69 litres of beer... Unfortunately, the first batch won't be ready for 2 weeks.

I'm being very careful with my wine to make it last until I next get to the shop (7 more days). I've dug out the small glasses to make it feel more.

Lordfrontpaw · 24/03/2020 19:38

You’d better switch to gin or whisky then!

insancerre · 24/03/2020 19:38

@DrWAnker
🤣🤣🤣🤣

LittleLittleLittle · 24/03/2020 19:39

@DrWAnker Agree strongly.

OP please go online and order more. When it arrives don't let DH drink any of it.

Random18 · 24/03/2020 19:41

My DH is the opposite.

He went to costco a week ago. Couldn't get any toilet roll but came back with 5 boxes of wine.

He's a keeper Grin

kyles101 · 24/03/2020 19:42

LTB

Oh wait...

Random18 · 24/03/2020 19:42

Was more than a week ago Haha. Even he's not brave enough for Costco recently

Justsaynonow · 24/03/2020 19:43

@DrWAnker

even better than LTB

Knowhowufeel2 · 24/03/2020 19:47

@DoubleAction, I've never said this before but LTB 😂

Lynda07 · 24/03/2020 19:49

I didn't know wine was in short supply.

Lynda07 · 24/03/2020 19:51

He can ration his consumption but it's up to you what you do. You can buy your own and hide it.
