My teens will flatly refuse to do JW as aimed at kids. Anything out there for teens/ adults?

I would love some good old fashioned aerobics! I don't know if it exists snymore and I'm afraid to ask!

NeurotrashWarrior · 24/03/2020 07:13

Have a look locally? I can pm you the name of a local woman who is doing all sorts of stuff. She's a trained dancer and dance teacher but climbs, does Pilates and aerobics etc.

Don't know if they are any good but the NHS have a few.

My teen are not sporty but they have set a competition between themselves who can learn how to do things like full splits first so are doing stretching exercises on you tube. Not the most energetic exercise but they are having fun practicing in the garden together.

NeurotrashWarrior · 24/03/2020 07:17

Only a few tasters are free though.

Other idea is the 7 min athlete work out app.

NeurotrashWarrior · 24/03/2020 07:17

The nhs ones are really good. I expect they'll add more too.

Les Mills are offering free online access to some of their on demand classes. I did combat last night and am sore today!!

Abelino · 24/03/2020 07:18

Have a look at Fitness Blender on YouTube, you can pay for programs but their individual workouts are free and lots to choose from.

Both the adults and teens in this house have used this one from the BBC so far.

It's very quick and basic but we're going to need a lot more variety to keep us engaged. Maybe something with a degree of competition - either against yourself or your sibling. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

It would be great to have a thread of ideas we could use as an exercise menu, depending on the mood.

I second Fitness Blender. Loads of routines.

YorkshireMummyof1 · 24/03/2020 07:42

inwood · 24/03/2020 07:44

Joe wicked has loads on you tube that aren't the kids ones. Les Mills on demand is free at the moment.

StrawberryFizz26 · 24/03/2020 07:45

openupmyeagereyes · 24/03/2020 07:48

Lucy Wyndham-Read on YouTube. She has loads of home workout videos including indoor walking.

kayakhala · 24/03/2020 07:50

Fitness blender

notacooldad · 24/03/2020 07:51

There's 1000's on youtube.
You just need to decide what you want to do eg body weight, pilates, HIIT, home circuit, etc.

AGoodPodcastAndANiceCupOfTea · 24/03/2020 07:53

I like Hasfit - it isn't super exciting but it is fuss-free, free of charge and they have very varied workouts and it isn't particularly aimed at any age-group.

SisterSist3r · 24/03/2020 07:53

Know nothing about exercise. Woukdnt know what to pick.Liked the JW one for kids as all done for you.

Joe Wicks has loads of fitness videos for adults. Just have a look at You Tube. You can search and specify beginners, low impact etc.
