I know a car dealership calling all staff in tomorrow.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 23/03/2020 21:40

Eh?

Are they a shop?

For the love of god, don't call 999.

MintySpud · 23/03/2020 21:40

Police. Now.

PointlessUsername · 23/03/2020 21:41

Who would be buying a car at this moment anyway.

FlyingFlamingo · 23/03/2020 21:42

101 I would guess, but I do think we need clearer guidance, hopefully it’s on the way!

TerryScottsBridge · 23/03/2020 21:42

I do too. The staff are going in to call all customers who might be affected then they're going home for a few weeks.

Calling the police would be complete overkill for that.

Alb1 · 23/03/2020 21:44

Get a life OP, it’s not even been a couple of hours yet. Maybe he needs to wind the business down, secure cars etc

DustyMaiden · 23/03/2020 21:44

HSE. You can do it online

TheGriffle · 23/03/2020 21:45

I would assume it’s so they can sort everything before sending staff home, not being open for business.

SeperatedSwans · 23/03/2020 21:49

999 immediately, make sure you tell frantically down the phone at them, quick get a post on to social media shaming them, maybe even turn up at 9am with a claxon and a home made placard with unclean written on it.

BacklashStarts · 23/03/2020 21:54

You don your balaclava, get out one of those many frozen baguettes from the freeze and deal out some vigilante justice. From at least two metres away.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/03/2020 21:56

I’ve emailed the police.

Two staff got sent home today to isolate.

'You don your balaclava, get out one of those many frozen baguettes from the freeze and deal out some vigilante justice. From at least two metres away.'

Gold 😂

MyBlueMoonbeam · 23/03/2020 21:59

You did the right thing

alltripe · 23/03/2020 21:59

Surely garages need to stay open to keep the cars of key workers on the road

TerryScottsBridge · 23/03/2020 22:00

@alltripe

Indeed. Our dealership is keeping the workshop open for that very reason. Once I've made my telephone calls to my customers, I wont be darkening the doors again for a few weeks.

DartmoorChef · 23/03/2020 22:00

A workshop that does essential repairs and mot's can stay open. A sales room is not essential.

Onacleardayyoucansee · 23/03/2020 22:01

I would think garages essential too.
Car repairs.

Who is minding your business OP? While you are minding others.
This mentality sucks

MeanwhileAtNumber98 · 23/03/2020 22:01

There are two factories (steel manufacturing) in the next village to us, both are operating as normal. My brother in law started nightshift at 9pm. Who decides what is essential, employer or employee?

ViciousJackdaw · 23/03/2020 22:03

A sales room is not essential

It could be. Some people will still need to get a replacement car during this period.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/03/2020 22:04

Yes, loads of nurses drive Mercedes. Local hospitals full of nurses getting out of E class cabriolets.

OP posts:
MeadowHay · 23/03/2020 22:06

Two of my close relatives at front line NHS staff and both drive Mercedes. Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/03/2020 22:08

MeadowHay I like you but your not helping 😂

Dh has a complex med hx. This is my business.

OP posts:
Shopgirl1 · 23/03/2020 22:08

My sister is a nurse and drives a mercedes.

alltripe · 23/03/2020 22:11

I work in a hospital, with someone who drives a merc

YorkshireMummyof1 · 23/03/2020 22:11

My partners doing respiratory physio at hospitals on a covid ward and he drives a Mercedes too lol
