Thousands of passengers from coronavirus hotspots such as Iran, Italy and even China are flying into Britain, despite the government’s domestic lockdown.

Flights have been arriving in London from Beijing and Rome every day, while Iran Air is operating three flights a week from Tehran.

The revelation follows a decision by the EU last week to ban virtually all travellers from outside the bloc for 30 days.

What news? Can you tell me the article please.

vegas888 · 22/03/2020 09:08

Flights landing today from Iran and other coronavirus hotspots. So what’s the bloody point in us being imprisoned in our own homes and they are allowing flights from these countries.
Boris, fucking sort it out.😡😡😡😡

I hate these posts. They are so unhelpful. Some people are getting a real kick out of the drama.

The Sunday Times

I’m not getting a kick out of it, I’m just fucked off that people are losing their jobs and way of life and yet we’re still allowing flights in from Italy, China and Iran

The link isn't working for me. Are these passenger or freight flights OP?

MegaClutterSlut · 22/03/2020 09:16

Wtf!!!!

Bluntness100 · 22/03/2020 09:18

Op, these people could be coming home. They can not ban people coming home at this stage, but should be quarantining them when they do. Or they should self isolate. At this stage there is nothing to indicate these are tourists or here for anything other than they are coming home.

If they ban all flights people can’t come home. No one wants to be stranded in a country they don’t reside in.

I get it’s difficult but you need to calm down.

OP posts:
CinnabarRed · 22/03/2020 09:19

Surely these are people repatriating?

Bluntness100 · 22/03/2020 09:20

This sort of panic doesn’t help anyone.

vegas888 · 22/03/2020 09:20

There’s flights from these places nearly daily so don’t think it’s just a case of people getting home

OP posts:
vegas888 · 22/03/2020 09:22

They’ve had long enough now to get home, all flights from these places should of been banned now.

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 22/03/2020 09:22

Op. Really. You don’t know how full these flights are or why people are on them. Seriously you need to stop now. No one is travelling for fun any more.

WrongKindOfFace · 22/03/2020 09:23

The link isn't working for me. Are these passenger or freight flights OP?

It says passengers. That’s insane.

vegas888 · 22/03/2020 09:24

I’m not panicking, just find it sheer stupidity. My kids have missed their final exams, I can’t visit my elderly aunt in a care home, we are told to stay home, everything is shut and yet we are flying people in from these countries.

OP posts:
WrongKindOfFace · 22/03/2020 09:24

Well it’s insane if it’s not just people returning home (who are then quarantined).

MinkowskisButterfly · 22/03/2020 09:24
Shock
notaflyingmonkey · 22/03/2020 09:29

I hear the garden centres around Heathrow have got a BOGOF offer on torches and pitchforks.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 22/03/2020 09:30

And this is the scaremongering bollocks mumsnet need to clamp down on

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 22/03/2020 09:31

You may not be panicking but you seem to be quite enjoying winding other people up

vegas888 · 22/03/2020 09:33

I’m not posting anything that can’t be read in the Sunday times today.
