Lucky enough to have a Tesco delivery tomorrow. Will it have anything on it?

As the title says. I'm worried it's going to turn up with nothing on it. Online it says they will not be doing substitutions.

From the news it looks like stores are empty? We are self isolating so I'm panicking a little. We are definitely going to be in trouble without it.
Anyone had a delivery in the last 24 hours?

I've got a delivery coming tomorrow, hoping I won't have too many missing items - I've got shopping for others ( they couldn't get a slot for weeks!) so it'll impact us all Sad

My husband works in the supermarket supply industry, he says there's so much stock going in! People must still be bulk buying Hmm. Surely it's got to stop soon?!

cassgate · 21/03/2020 17:44

Received my order today only 3 items missing and a few reasonable subs. Our deliveries come from a warehouse though not a shop. Driver said there was plenty of stock his words ( it’s full to the gills) but not enough pickers so Tesco are recruiting to try and get more deliveries out. He said that currently he takes a van out with its max weight capacity (he did say what weight it was but can’t remember). He goes back to depot has 45 minute break and takes out another fully loaded van. He said that new pickers who apply and are accepted start work within 24 hours in some cases. I found the chat quite reassuring.

Dogsaresomucheasier · 21/03/2020 17:45

Waitrose yesterday evening had a lot of substitutions and items missing, but enough to not starve.

CherryPavlova · 21/03/2020 17:47

I’m thinking our slot will:bring about 50% of order next week. I went in to amend the order and lots of items I’d previously put in my basket were showing as unavailable. We shall see.

tiredanddangerous · 21/03/2020 17:50

I got all the fresh stuff I ordered apart from potatoes, skimmed milk, cheddar and eggs.

I also didn’t get pasta, kitchen towel and flour.

jimmychooing · 21/03/2020 18:05

Thanks, yes but the furthest I can see is 9th April not the 17th Confused

jimmychooing · 21/03/2020 18:09

I've just checked again, I can see until the 10tj April but all booked. No clots available at all. They don't release them at midnight as I've stayed up to try to get one. I'm going to need a delivery slot booked soon if they are 3 weeks from now as the food I have won't last

VerbenaGirl · 21/03/2020 18:09

My shop his morning wasn’t to bad, about 10 items sub’d and 8 missing.

Icecreamdiva · 21/03/2020 18:16

It was such a relief to get pretty much everything I ordered. I didn’t realise how worried I’d been about getting staples and veg until the delivery came and the worrying stopped.

We've moved this to the Coronavirus topic now, @user1471530109 Flowers

I’ve ordered a Tesco shop online for my elderly auntie. She lives alone and I’m the other end of the country, I’m stressing she won’t get much of it Sad

I think it’s hit and miss at the moment. Hope it all arrived for you OP

Snowflakes1122 · 21/03/2020 21:01

*arrives

Menora · 21/03/2020 21:09

I already had a mid week delivery saver
My order for Tuesday is already pathetic. It was £60 which is what I always spend but they just have removed everything out of my basket so it’s about £21 now

I cannot get or find

Fabric softener
Non bio laundry anything
Cat litter
Cat food
Flour
Loo roll
Any veg
Nothing frozen

I can however get fruit, cucumber, butter, tinned sweet corn and some chicken pies

It is so depressing

Petiolaris · 21/03/2020 21:27

I’ve had to start ticking no substitutions. Last week the driver dumped my shopping and ran away shouting there were no substitutions. Then when I checked half of the shopping had been badly substituted. He lied and ran away because he didn’t want to take back substituted items from someone who could be infected. So I’m stuck with this useless stuff and customer services aren’t replying to anyone because they’re too busy, so I can’t get a refund.

Myshitisreal · 21/03/2020 21:42

No toilet roll, no pasta, carrots and banana limited to 3, no cat litter, no passata, no apples, no onions, no frozen garlic, no peanut butter. No cough medicine ummm loads more. We order a big shop every month on payday, and were missing 60 quids worth. 🤞 For you op 🥰

Myshitisreal · 21/03/2020 21:45

No ginger. Loads of substitutions some a bit weird. I felt really sorry for the driver tbh, he looked so flustered. Also lots of things were capped at 3 as well as banana and carrots, and the system had let me order more. It is what it is, what can you do 🤷‍♂️

cheeseandcrackers · 21/03/2020 21:50

I got about 70% yesterday. A few sensible subs and lots of just missing. No milk, butter, eggs fresh meat or rice despite all being available according to the app at 11pm the night before.

IndecentFeminist · 21/03/2020 21:57

I was only missing breadsticks and freezer bags.

PonderTweek · 21/03/2020 21:58

We got ours today and although around ten items were unavailable, we got most of our stuff. No pasta, paracetamol, potatoes, tuna etc, but I was pleasantly surprised. Fingers crossed they're now getting on top of it.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 21/03/2020 22:03

I had a Sainsbury’s order this morning. I got the rice the pasta and the loo roll but, and it’s a very big but I can assure you, NO HAIR DYE AND NO WINE, I REPEAT NO BLOODY WINE!!!!😬

dottydally · 21/03/2020 22:09

@jimmychooing do you have a delivery saver plan? I do and can see up to 17/04. Wondering if that's why you can't see that far?

Idontkowmyname · 21/03/2020 22:11

@greathat the aisles stocking food like sweets, biscuits and chocolate were full, it seems nobody was buying anything from them.

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 21/03/2020 22:12

Mine was fine except for semi-skimmed milk. I hadn't ordered loo roll, pasta etc though.

aWeaponCalledtheWord · 21/03/2020 22:16

i had asda on weds and it was fine. 2 subs, everything else was there. i’m booking them 2 weeks in advance now as i’m in the vulnerable group and need to make sure me and the cat are fed.

Muddlingalongalone · 21/03/2020 22:27
