Just been to Aldi, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Lidl.

Got most of what I needed but still missing some key stuff just nosey to see what other people haven't been able to get.

Eggs x12
Wraps
Sausages/meatballs
Naan bread
Vegetable oil
Frozen carrots
Loo roll
Flour
Rice

We have a Tesco, Heron and ASDA close by so I might venture out again later. I am 23wks pg so was hoping to be able to get enough to see us through for the next fortnight so I can stay inside as much as possible.

Flour.,I’d like some but not desperate yet. I have no pasta but can manage without. I really don’t want to run out of teabags.

lubeybooby · 20/03/2020 13:17

Only eggs and flour was missing here (Shropshire) and I need to make a birthday cake. Thankfully living quite rurally a neighbour has given me eggs from her chickens and we still have just about enough flour

I feel ridiculously fortunate and grateful

HairsprayBabe · 20/03/2020 13:19

@Goawayquickly luckily we are swimming in teabags! DH worked in a Café about 6 months ago and when they closed brought home a lifetime supply! So I haven't had to think about tea in ages, I too would hate to run out!

Actually nothing apart from Plenty kitchen towel. That's by far my preferred brand, but I've been making do with others. I had a little Brexit stash, so we've been using that rather than shopping at the moment.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 20/03/2020 13:21

Eggs and dried pulses...or tinned pulses...or pulses

Thats what i would really like to lay my hands on Grin

Though i am finding it really interesting seeing whats been LEFT on the shelves

So empty shelve of tinned beans (chickpeas etc) except for.....

Borletti beans

Ive never had them are they nice? Obviously not!!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 20/03/2020 13:22

We use Ocado every week, but have never been so grateful for a delivery as I was today (currently isolating). Pretty much everything was there, except raisin loaf that DD likes (hot cross buns instead)

BarbedBloom · 20/03/2020 13:27

Eggs.
Any milk alternative
Chicken
Any tinned food
Cat litter
Toilet roll
Milk
Cooking oil

Making all of my own bread now as that has been gone for a while.

HairsprayBabe · 20/03/2020 13:27

@RufustheLanglovingreindeer

In Sainsbos the entire soup section had been decimated, save for the whole box of lobster bisque! Grin

If I can get my hands on bag of flour Incan make some flatbread and not bother with the naan

Cannot get bread flour. Just want a bag of strong flour.

Historyofeverything1 · 20/03/2020 13:31

Tesco delivery had 5 substitutions (chicken, Flavoured water, bread, eggs, minced beef) and 5 not available (milk, broccoli, onions, peppers and sweetcorn).

Goawayquickly · 20/03/2020 13:33

@HairsprayBabe swap you two loo rolls in exchange for some teabags? 😀

WhiteChocTwix · 20/03/2020 13:33

Wine! Ppl are stock piling booze in my area of the country! Be switching to Gin and Bitter Lemon at this rate, more slimming I suppose!

exiledfromcornwall · 20/03/2020 13:36

We always go to a big supermarket (Sainsbury's this week) on a Thursday, but this week we pre-empted it by visiting our favourite farm shop, where we managed to get stewing steak, sausages, eggs and bread, just as well as Sains was out of all these things. After Sains I was still missing tissues, kitchen paper, washing up liquid and baking parchment (no, me neither!). I managed to get all except the kitchen paper this morning in our local Coop and chemist. Luckily we are retired, I really feel for people like that poor nurse on the telly who found bare shelves after a very long shift.

MyDucksArentInARow · 20/03/2020 13:38

I can't get plain flour. DP thought he'd be helpful and substitute the plain for strong white on the shopping list. Unfortunately that doesn't work, and I now have an extra bag of strong I don't need as I had enough to cover me for breadmaking I do over 2 weeks anyway. Anyone want 1.5kg bag of strong white for a 1.5kg of plain flour?

MyDucksArentInARow · 20/03/2020 13:39

Also can't get eggs

AccioCake · 20/03/2020 13:47

Flour
Sunflower oil

Can't find them anywhere!

GameSetMatch · 20/03/2020 13:47

Pasta
Passata
Proper butter

Everything else was available, not as much choice not so many branded products but still a good range.

belay · 20/03/2020 13:48

Fish fingers / beans / dettox kitchen spray

GameSetMatch · 20/03/2020 13:48

Booths supermarkets have lots of stock, eggs, fresh bread and cakes, you wouldn’t think anything was much wrong.

Magpiefeather · 20/03/2020 13:50

Beef mince
Tinned tomatoes
Pasta

I think everyone in my area is hoping to live off spaghetti bolognaise! (Not a bad plan tbh)

Gertie75 · 20/03/2020 13:53

Eggs and cheese biscuits.

I noticed there's hardly any washing powder on the shelves now or tampons.

HairsprayBabe · 20/03/2020 13:55

Oh yeah I couldn't get Passat so I just got tinned tomatoes and I will blend them.

Some of the things on my list have to be a certain brand as DH is asd and has food issues. This whole situation is really challenging for him but he is doing really well all things considered.

17CherryTreeLane · 20/03/2020 13:57
