Hi,
Trying to think of the industries and companies that are taking the most hit right now, so we can ensure to support afterwards. Trying to give dd an idea of how much this actually affects.

Family businesses

  • theme parks
  • Trains

What else would be really struggling right now and losing money?

It can be anything from holiday resorts, to parks, amusement parks, public transport, family businesses

@itbemay1 He rents too. £260 a week (plus £20 for insurance) although he's now waiting for a cheaper cab to come up - he took what he could when he started renting at the new (v. small£ garage a year ago; obviously not expecting anything like this to happen. He's trying to go back to a fleet now.
That plus fuel for the week.. it's impossible.

I'm sending your friends all the luck in the world.

Can’t express this enough... unless you’re on a high wage with high outgoings and a normal wage won’t cut it... Google all residential care homes for elderly or learning difficulties in your area then get straight in the phone to them. The industry is chronically understaffed, has been for years. The managers will be so so happy to finally be fully staffed and especially with hard working staff with lots of job and life experience.

I’m an interpreter. We won’t be the worst hit but not going well. We are limited how many places we can go now. Some work can be done from home but nowhere near enough for the whole profession to do.
We usually don’t have enough people to do the work. Plus we are all worried about the people we work with.
This is very odd times.
