I only want x1 box just in case, or for just general use. Nowhere has any & I literally have none.

What else can you take to reduce fever?

Luckily I have calpol for my DS.

But if we catch COVID19 & have a rocket fever we’re fucked. There’s none anywhere

Do you guys not have Ibuprofen in the UK?

Yes, we have Ibuprofen but it's not for fever and not recommended for this particular virus.

Jenasaurus · 18/03/2020 22:34

Op, I may be able to post you a packet, my local shop had some I think.

Nixee2231 · 18/03/2020 22:34

Ibuprofen is also not preferred here but is actually a fever reducer.

Nixee2231 · 18/03/2020 22:34

So I was just curious since I never see it mentioned.

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 18/03/2020 22:36

@TickTockTickTockT try WHSmith, they had them where you queue up for the tills.

ChipotleBlessing · 18/03/2020 22:44

Superdrug have paracetamol available for order and collect.

ChipotleBlessing · 18/03/2020 22:46

@Nixee2231 The french government recommended not taking ibuprofen with covid-19. The British government says there’s no clear evidence but best to avoid it just in case. There’s loads of ibuprofen left in the shops because of this.

Toybox88 · 18/03/2020 22:50

Loads of paracetamol tablets and lemsip in my aldi today

OutingMyself · 18/03/2020 22:51

I just bought some from pharmacyfirst.co.uk

Time will tell if it actually arrives though!

79abbot · 18/03/2020 22:53

Right now is not a time to be stoic and “sweat out a cold”. If one developed symptoms of Coronavirus, then they should try to keep a fever down as it helps us to feel a little better, be able to drink and eat more, sleep better and this in turn supports our body to help fight the virus. If paracetamol can help reduce fever, the body saves some energy which can be better used to fight the virus instead of using those resources on fighting the fever.

Comefromaway · 18/03/2020 22:57

The pharmacist offered to make adult dd some paracetamol suspension up today as she had dental surgery today and is on medication that means she can’t take neurofen and they had no pRacetamol.

WellAintThatAShitbiscuit · 19/03/2020 00:18

I am currently in a paracetamol nightmare...partner had heart surgery 6 weeks ago and is using paracetamol 3 times a day for pain relief (on hospitals advice) and he's nearly run out.

I have been EVERYWHERE and cannot find any (I'm also working so tend to missing deliveries to shops) due to huge amount of other drugs he's taking he can't have ibuprofen, cocodomol, aspirin, anything with caffeine, anything with decongestant which rules out pretty much everything else.

I can't even get through to gp on phone to ask about obtaining some on prescription.

Has anyone had any success with reputable online pharmacies?

OP good luck in your search i hope you find some ☺

GrumpyHoonMain · 19/03/2020 00:23

Local pharmacies have them. If absolutely required GP surgeries can still prescribe paracetamol

Inkpaperstars · 19/03/2020 01:19

Do not use aspirin or ibuprofen instead if treating the CV, they are suspecting of making the virus worse.

AliBear90 · 19/03/2020 01:24

Was there any cold and flu capsules or anything like that? I suffer from migraines about two times a week so always try to have some in the house along with some ibuprofen and forehead stick thing. But yeah it’s become a nightmare to find. Luckily I have half a pack (8 tablets) left so that should be okay for me for the next 2 weeks or so and hoping to find some after that

LadyEloise · 19/03/2020 20:19

TickTockTickTockT
Did you get any ?

TickTockTickTockT · 19/03/2020 20:58

Hey, thank you so much to everyone who offered suggestions & those who offered to post me some, it was so kind of you & restores faith in each other at times like this!

I did manage to get some from Superdrug cost me £5 for something that would have been 60p but I got some. The lady in boots says she sold 60 boxes in the first 5 mins of trading Shock

Thank you so much again guys x

Couldn’t find paracetamol anywhere but did find Anadin which contains paracetamol

LadyEloise · 19/03/2020 23:21

Glad you got sorted OP

turdtimelucky · 20/03/2020 20:59

Superdrug shouldn't be raising prices. There are laws against benefitting from crises. I'd report them - keep your receipt.

turdtimelucky · 20/03/2020 21:00

That's basically pricing poor people out of getting paracetamol. Report Superdrug.

FlushedZebra · 20/03/2020 21:10

I haven't been able to get paracetamol on Tesco online for weeks now, or more recently in any local shops. I'm completely out - but I do have the 'flu plus' remedies which have paracetamol in, and I've been able to get calpol.

I used to be able to get them for 24p for 12 in Tesco in times now gone past - £5 is disgraceful. Profiteering.

PurpleDaisies · 20/03/2020 21:12

Is that some sort of branded paracetamol?

PurpleDaisies · 20/03/2020 21:23

On their website, their paracetamol is still 49p. It’s the brand names that are more expensive.

TickTockTickTockT · 20/03/2020 22:45

It was the anadin range. It’s all that was left. Our local car park also doubled their prices. I might actually report them it’s gone from £2 for 1 hour to £4 it’s disgraceful
