Dh and I are in self isolation. Travelled through A Spanish airport but didn’t stay in Spain, he has a cough and I have a sore throat but not been tested.
We have a cat but very little cat food and don’t have any friends/ relatives close by. No delivery slots for a week - we have a delivery booked but I’m not sure what to do until then.
What would you do?

Order on Amazon or from Pets at Home? Also a lot of the pet shops local to me are doing delivery if you ring up

Gillian1980 · 17/03/2020 09:59

I’d see if there is a local support group on Facebook where somebody could get some for you.
Some local corner shops are delivering locally if you ring them.

ballyHooHah · 17/03/2020 10:00

I'd ring round all the pet shops/food suppliers to see if someone can do a delivery. Or put a call out on facebook/

Adviceneededplease9 · 17/03/2020 10:01

What area are you in? On the off chance that you’re close enough I’ll drop some cans and a box of dry food around.

Frenchfemme · 17/03/2020 10:02

Also try local vets, they may be able to advise.

Adviceneededplease9 · 17/03/2020 10:07

Do you have any tinned fish in? Tuna, sardines etc? Or any chicken you could roast and chop up? My cats are always overjoyed to receive these as a treat! But they would work well to keep your cat going until delivery if needs must.

SabineSchmetterling · 17/03/2020 10:08

I ordered at food on amazon for next day delivery today. Getting groceries seems to be trickier but cat food was relatively straightforward.

Movinghouseatlast · 17/03/2020 10:09

Set up Amazon Prime and get it delivered tomorrow.

Or try Pets at Home or Fetch online.

Menora · 17/03/2020 10:10

I had to order from Amazon

Itwasntme1 · 17/03/2020 10:17

I get mine from amazon - I know this has already been suggested.

Hope you get sorted.

Flippetydip · 17/03/2020 10:18

Where are you? Happy to help if in the local vicinity.

BovaryX · 17/03/2020 10:20

Can you get some tinned tuna from a local shop?

kimlo · 17/03/2020 10:21

I get mine from amazon. I've just got 10kg for about £20, came the next day.

Other than that have you got a local facebook page? Mine is full of people offering to get things people need.

adaline · 17/03/2020 10:22

Pets at Home do next day delivery.

viccat · 17/03/2020 10:27

Pets at Home are not currently doing next day delivery. I ordered yesterday and it’s due to come by Friday. Amazon is probably your best bet at the moment.

NormaLouiseBates · 17/03/2020 10:31

If you're in a Prime Now area you can (probably) get a delivery same day. If not though regular Amazon Prime will deliver next day. I'm going to order a few things that I can get from there today; dishwasher tablets, teabags etc... to help keep my Ocado shop down.

ifonly4 · 17/03/2020 10:36

Do you have any work collegues, neighbours who can help? Sounds silly, but perhaps put a note on your front door or at end of your drive, asking for help.

Look at PetsatHome, Zooplus, Animed Direct and other online pet organizations selling food. You'll have to wait a few days though. Alternatively your cat may consider any meat or milk you have.

Cornettoninja · 17/03/2020 10:39

If there’s no one you can ask to pick some up for you try a local taxi.

You’d have to pay the cost of the round trip but they’re usually pretty obliging if they’re quiet.

ifonly4 · 17/03/2020 10:43

I placed a zooplus order on Saturday. It's been handed to courier for delivery this morning, hoping it'll be delivered tomorrow or Thursday. So it looks like orders are taking five days (they don't work Sundays) to be delivered.

EmeraldsAtDawn · 17/03/2020 10:45

Go direct to manufacturer websites. e.g. www.canagan.co.uk say they ca get cat food to you next day. Might be able to get enough to tide you over until your normal food can be delivered.

sm40 · 17/03/2020 10:50

Amazon. Can do
Prime for £7.99 a month. Might be worthwhile at the moment!

AnnaMagnani · 17/03/2020 10:54

Zooplus. Amazing. We might starve but our cats will not.

FamBae · 17/03/2020 11:22

I've just received a large 18 kg bag of dried dog food from amazon and also use petsupermarket.co.uk much better than lugging it home from the shops.

BarbedBloom · 17/03/2020 11:24

I ordered from Zooplus and got next day. Amazon works well too

Changeofname79 · 17/03/2020 11:24

There are loads if online places, if not then fresh meat/tuna etc is fine presumably for a few days till you can get a delivery. Lots of people offering help on FB too so maybe someone in your area.
