Hello. Are you in the Ocado virtual queue? What position are you?
Would you like some company?

I got bumped from 10k to 15k suddenly!!! Does anyone know why??

Legoroses · 24/03/2020 20:44

I'm getting bumped down all the time. When things settle down I'm never shopping with them again. Waitrose and Tesco work.

Ocado's schtick has been that they are a tech company that happens to deliver food. The fuck they are.

If I were m&s I'd be very much reconsidering working with these eejits.

HarrietTheShy · 24/03/2020 20:58

I have an order next week and another one the week after that (booked before all the craziness happened). I was able to edit both this afternoon.

adagio · 24/03/2020 21:56

Update, I stuck it out in the queue (stuck at 5700 for hours) and eventually The numbers moved and I got on at 2:30 and edited my order for Sunday . Panic added extra wine in the way through check out - priorities! 😁👍🏻

YoursTunbridgeWells · 24/03/2020 22:04

Anyone got a slot for mid April yet?

TheGreatWave · 24/03/2020 22:16

Not letting me look past next Monday's scheduled delivery, though I could have booked one for tomorrow (despite having had one last night)

Pinkfizzy · 24/03/2020 22:27

In despair.

Sent numerous texts yesterday & today to me & DH that we are both considered vulnerable. Have been in self isolation anyway for last 10days or more because, well, we know we are both vulnerable. But have 2 kids who have just had gcses & Alevels cancelled.

Ocado keep sending emails saying get stuff for your neighbours etc. Which I had started doing; kids sorting that out. I had also put orders through for parents & SIL's households - parents in 80's SIL has brittle asthma.

Now I get an email (as below) & says only 1 order per week...so I have 3 next week, 1 for us here, 1 for DParent in next town & 1 for SIL's family in next town over from them.

I have no idea what is happening, whether I will get food for us or anyone else. I've been stuck around 16000 for over 5 hours. Have been a customer since 2005.

In despair.

Pinkfizzy · 24/03/2020 22:29

That should have been clearer - texts from the coronovirus / govt

Onceuponatimethen · 24/03/2020 22:36

The queue isn’t working - I’ve been Tom’s I’m number 26, 168 and 15,699 all in the last few minutes

Onceuponatimethen · 24/03/2020 22:36

Been told that was

FreakStar · 24/03/2020 22:42

@Pinkfizzy - Ocado don't mean you do separate orders for elderly neighbours or relatives- they mean add some things to your own order for them if they can't get a slot themselves. Make no wonder thee are no delivery slots for anyone else if people like you have 3 booked in a week!

tangledyarn · 24/03/2020 22:43

@pinkfizzy oh no, that's awful. I wonder if you ring them if they would waive it? Although I'd expect they would honour next weeks now in any case. I'm in a similar (but less bad) situation. 2 orders for next week. One for me as have CV and one for parents (elderly/high risk) 200 miles away. I'll muddle through by getting a friend to get me stuff if need be, but its not ideal x x

Pinkfizzy · 24/03/2020 22:50

@FreakStar

I dont know if you missed it but
a we aren't allowed out
b Ocado TOLD us in their email 2 weeks back to ADD addresses to our account of family or friends who weren't nearby.

Ocado TOLD us to do that. Because they were unable to add new customers. As mad as it sounds, that is what they said clearly.

Now they have changed their suggestion & said only 1 order a week. I followed their initial suggestion. I just want to know where that leaves me, neighbours, parents & in laws.

PowerslidePanda · 24/03/2020 22:51

@pinkfuzzy I'm in a similar situation too. I'm not doing slots on behalf of other people as a regular thing, but my parents are on the 14 day self-isolation due to symptoms and it was the only way I could find to get food to them. Really hoping that neither their order nor mine is cancelled.

tangledyarn · 24/03/2020 22:56

I think people should only be able to book 1 delivery to their own address a week maximum but I think caring/supporting relatives in isolation by arranging them a delivery when people might usually travel to them is fine. A lot of older and more vulnerable people wouldn't even know how to navigate booking an online delivery on their own.

Ontheboardwalk · 24/03/2020 23:02

Just been able to get straight in to amend my orders. I’ve got my regular slot on Saturday and my usual top up shop every couple of weeks coming tomorrow, these were booked in advance.

No slots for me to book going forward at all

The Ocado Queue Thread.
Ontheboardwalk · 24/03/2020 23:04

Oh and confirmation only 1 delivery per customer per week

Pinkfizzy · 24/03/2020 23:06

@tangledyarn

I have only 1 delivery to my house next week. For my immediate family & neighbours on either side.

The other 2 are for vulnerable families in towns X & Y who are completely unable to leave the house. If you are in that vulnerable category, you are not allowed to leave the house, not for exercise or anything.
That is for the benefit of the community BTW we are vulnerable=far more likely to end up on the ventilators.

tangledyarn · 24/03/2020 23:09

@pinkfizzy Yes that was my point..we are essentially providing a caring service to the most vulnerable people not being selfish (I also have 2 booked but only 1 is for me) x

Xiaoxiong · 24/03/2020 23:13

I have also just managed to get on to edit my shop, I have slots booked for this Thurs and next Thurs (booked weeks ago) and then nothing available to book beyond that.

It's really REALLY hard not to put more than a week's worth of food in my order knowing that I might not be able to get anything beyond next week though!! I am trying to be responsible but it's making me so anxious. Oh well. We can eat all the random half packets of pearl barley and quinoa in the cupboard that nobody liked first time round.

FreakStar · 24/03/2020 23:38

Most people have vulnerable people in their family and could justify 2 or 3 orders being delivered to different addresses. Both my parents and my in-laws are in their 70s, MIL has COPD and DF has a heart condition. I'll order food for them if I can but drop it off for them myself so I only use one delivery slot.

FreakStar · 24/03/2020 23:42

Sounds like you've already had your share then @Ontheboardwalk if you have 2 deliveries coming in the space of 3 days! Hmm

tangledyarn · 24/03/2020 23:56

@freakstar But not all of us can do that. I'm already unwell but theoretically needing to isolate myself for the next 12 weeks, my elderly parents who also have my sister with severe Ld living with them cant go out either and they live 200 miles away. I only book myself a delivery every 3 weeks and I'll do the same for them, so dont feel like I'm being overly selfish by doing it, as things progress I think there will be more options for people in our situation but not currently.

Standrewsschool · 25/03/2020 01:08

Hello to the 1000 people out there who are patiently waiting like me!

tangledyarn · 25/03/2020 01:16

10 years ago I stayed up for fun reasons, now its waiting in the ocado queue and being anxious about the world falling apart.
