I am - my role is difficult to do from home and our work needs to be going during this situation.

What about other people?

I’m going in long enough to grab my laptop and then will be working from home I think. A bit annoyed with myself as I was debating whether to just bring my laptop home with me last night but didn’t - had an Important external meeting planned but am now expecting it will be either cancelled or moved to a remote session.

Am expecting it to be a frustrating day as I bet our VPN will not be able to cope with the increased use and things will be SLOW. Will probably spend the day planning how to work offline as much as I can.

Yes but I'm hoping some provisions will be discussed and put in place today . While schools are open I should be fine unless one of us gets unwell so definitely need some contingency today .

Both DH and I will be WFH for the foreseeable future. DH’s company tested WFH capability last week with small groups WFH each day and then they went to full WFH from Friday. He works for one of the big banks in a head office role and it’s all been very well coordinated but apparently they’re not being so good with their frontline branch staff who aren’t being given any guidance other that it’s ‘business as usual’ Hmm

My work sent out Comms last night saying that if you can work from home to do so and if you have to come in that they’ll be making sure that everyone is at least a desk apart. They’ve been very good although I am worried what will happen long term to the company and my job - I do a role where my work has dried up almost overnight and I’m not sure how long they’ll be able to carry me and my team for when profits are falling - going to just have to try and make myself as useful as possible with all my other skills Grin

Appalled by home many offices are telling people still to come in when they could WFH.

Yes, I'm a teacher. In London, commuting to work on public transport.

1/3 of my dept are self isolating and there's no supply staff available so we will be teaching classes of 45 kids today.

Yes, am a nurse, working a night shift tonight. DH works in a university doing a job that can mostly be done from home, I imagine today will be his last day. DC will go to school.

I'm on annual leave this week but have been called in for an extraordinary meeting. I fully expect that we will be told to work from home now.

Nope. We are self isolating anyway since The weekend but even if we weren't my company made the call last night to lockdown our office so I will be working from home for the foreseeable future!

I do feel for those of us who don't have jobs that can be worked from home though. My mum is a carer and in one of the high risk groups and she is very worried.

I have to go in as I'm a nursery assistant but there's talks of if we shut but aren't being forced to self isolate the staff will still be expected to go in to do courses and paperwork

@Punxsutawney that's mad, what's the point of one person going in? Is he in a position to say no? I.e. divert the phones and work remotely like everyone else.

Civil Servant, London based told to come in but to phone manager if worried or have health issues blah blah.

Conflicting messages on our intranet site and emails. Basically saying obey what the government says but only when we tell you to.

I don’t think they have capacity for all to work at home although we all have Surface Pros and mobiles, the online systems will crash.
