I am - my role is difficult to do from home and our work needs to be going during this situation.

What about other people?

I am, another one working in a care home with a dc still in school. It is pretty worrying.

vingt · 17/03/2020 07:00

Yes, I don't have space for 30 children in my house.

MurderOfGoths · 17/03/2020 07:00

I can work from home, but they've told us we have to come in. People are, understandably, not impressed

Punxsutawney · 17/03/2020 07:00

Ds is 19 and works in a office. It was decided by the rest of his team without consulting him that he would be the member of staff to stay in the office when everyone else will be working from home. He's been told even if the office closes he will have to go in as skeleton staff.

Passthecake30 · 17/03/2020 07:00

I'm going in today, 50% are wfh atm in order to test if the server can make it. I'm on the risk list (asthma) so have a feeling it might be my last time for a long time....

dimdarkashian · 17/03/2020 07:01

I'm a lecturer, I usually wfh on a Tuesday anyway but I'll be going in tomorrow as I have teaching and meetings. We're gearing up to moving all teaching online, I think this will happen from Monday.

Redglitter · 17/03/2020 07:01

Yes and will be right through this even if we go into lockdown

What a dreadful way to run things!

bez91 · 17/03/2020 07:04

Going to try to... DD is 2 with congenital heart disease and started with a continuous cough last night making her sick 🤦🏼‍♀️ so I'm staying at home with her although she seems fine in herself and better now she's not laid down, I can work from home so I'm going to try and squeeze bits in throughout the day although this is probably going to be day 1 of self isolation ☹️

Lllot5 · 17/03/2020 07:08

Yes I’m going in community care worker.

1066vegan · 17/03/2020 07:08

Teacher so yes.

It's terrible that people who could work from home are being told to go into offices.

SegregateMumBev · 17/03/2020 07:09

No, cos it's St Patricks Day. and a holiday here. But it'll be a very strange St Patrick's Day with no parades, pubs closed etc.

chipsandpeas · 17/03/2020 07:09

im going in with the hope we get given laptops and told to work from home

DrMadelineMaxwell · 17/03/2020 07:10

Yes. Teacher.

LefttoherownDevizes · 17/03/2020 07:11

Yes. Work for a uni and whilst all teaching had been moved online all support services staff were expected in. Got an email in the night saying that that is transitioning to online working. We can't fully shut though as we have labs that can't shut, animals that need taken care of, students stuck in halls that can't travel home (some with Covid)

DrMadelineMaxwell · 17/03/2020 07:11

Even if we close to kids our HT is hoping we can be open for staff to get stuff done.

kirinm · 17/03/2020 07:11

Yes. In the city of London because work haven't said we can work from home even though the majority of us are set up to work from home. Really pissed off about it.

StealingYourWiFi · 17/03/2020 07:12

Yes, private sector theatre nurse although our local NHS trust has just stopped all elective operating. I was off yesterday so interested to see what today will hold..

ooooohbetty · 17/03/2020 07:12

Yes. Until told not to. Very difficult to do my job at home.

middleager · 17/03/2020 07:12

Yes. i'm going to WFH which I can easily do, but still not encoraged because of presenteeism.

Husband still going in to a city centre office. madness as this is a massive international firm where it's easy to wfh.

False economy too if your employees are sick.

ny20005 · 17/03/2020 07:12

I can't work from home but we've been told to go in as long as we're symptom free

Weenurse · 17/03/2020 07:12

Nurse so yes, going to work.
A lot of staff off sick though.

ExpletiveDelighted · 17/03/2020 07:13

Yes, I can only do about a third of my job from home.

Brumcherub · 17/03/2020 07:14

Yes retail.
