Just moved to NI permanently.
Husband due to return to UK mainland today to work for another 2 weeks and finish house packing up etc etc.

Should he go or stay? Is he likely to be able to get back? We have a small toddler so don’t want him being stuck away for ages.

There is a topic for corona virus. Reported.

jwills · 15/03/2020 08:51

Where is it?

OP posts:
RosehipRuthie · 15/03/2020 09:07

Well you need to pack up the house (assume selling it or tenancy coming to an end). Could he do that, but not work to get back to you as soon as possible?

MrsGrindah · 15/03/2020 09:09

Er look under “ Coronavirus”

peachypetite · 15/03/2020 09:09

Reported

jwills · 15/03/2020 09:21

What does this reported stuff mean

OP posts:
MrsGrindah · 15/03/2020 09:47

Try googling “ Mumsnet”

peachypetite · 15/03/2020 09:55

There is an entire bloody section for corona. Post there.

mumme111 · 15/03/2020 10:41

Why are people commenting being so rude?? The op was only asking!

IamaBluebird · 15/03/2020 10:50

Good luck in your new home Op.
No idea why people are so eager to police a message board with unhelpful replies.

HollowTalk · 15/03/2020 10:52

Probably the same people who think "thank you" is unnecessary when someone cooks you a meal Grin

Itsashame · 15/03/2020 11:14

Oh my people are rude sometimes

feelinguseless101 · 15/03/2020 11:44

Does the house need packing? E.g. is it stuff you really need/ is the house being sold/ let etc? If yes, then unless you have a relative or friend who could let a removal firm in, I doubt you have much choice.

If you really don't want to risk separation you could all go together so you are stuck together?

I think the best thing would be for him to go, do the absolute necessity of stuff then get back asap?

UhKevin · 15/03/2020 11:52

Good grief. Anyone thought some posters won’t be aware of the dedicated Coronavirus board yet? Hmm I hope you’re planning on policing every single Chat thread about it in just the same friendly manner. Wouldn’t want to pick on anyone, would you? Maybe start with the other recent one from the mum of a kid in a special school. She probably doesn’t need any empathetic replies.

WorraLiberty · 15/03/2020 11:55

'Reported' sounds rather sinister Confused

Don't worry OP. They just mean they've asked MNHQ to move it to the correct topic for you.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 15/03/2020 12:07

Anyone thought some posters won’t be aware of the dedicated Coronavirus board yet?

If you haven't hidden it, you can't possibly fail to see the deluge of armchair experts posting on the topic every blinking minute in Active, and on any topic they can get away with outside of the topic.

If you have hidden it blessed relief then clearly you know about it.

johnwayneisbigleggy · 15/03/2020 12:07

Wow, why are people so rude!

ElmoLovesYou · 15/03/2020 12:10

HollowTalk Grin

Itsashame · 15/03/2020 12:12

Buzz, not true at all. I only go on a couple of boards here and just swap between them, I never look at what’s trending or anything else, nothing about the coronavirus board pops up on my mn at all

SoupDragon · 15/03/2020 12:17

In a world where you can be anything...

What would you do in this situation?
SoupDragon · 15/03/2020 12:18

I can't imagine that he won't be one to get back, OP. I guess the house needs to be packed up so he has to go and do it.

UhKevin · 15/03/2020 12:37

Itsashame Snap

BorisTheBellend · 15/03/2020 13:37

Jesus. Is there a board for the dickheads to fuck off to?

'Reported' so fucking rude.

OP the health board has a CoronaVirus section where people are much -nicer more helpful.

MrsGrindah · 15/03/2020 15:04

Nobody being rude just saying what is obvious. “ Where is it” can sound rude if read in the wrong way.

SoupDragon · 15/03/2020 15:07

Nobody being rude

Yes they were. You included. "try Googling Mumsnet" is hardly polite is it?
