Anyone else feeling a bit Confused not only about the Coronavirus of course but also any holidays you’ve booked and (hopefully) going over the next few months!

Should be gong to London during the Easter weekend but I’ve got a bad feeling this isn’t going to happen!

Hotel is Premier Inn, paid for, train paid for!

We're going to Dorset the weekend after next and Cornwall for 2 weeks in May and I expect to be going. They're booked through agencies so if travel is banned for some reason I expect to get my money back or be able to reschedule.

We have don't judge five 7 night trips to butlins booked (my son with asd is obsessed). We are due to go for his 13th next month but won't be going. He has brittle asthma and takes azithromycin because his immune system is compromised. He has just finished a 7 day course of steroids and he is ill on steroids every month, I want to shut us all inside for the next 6 months to be honest.

I have several large concerts booked over the next few months, the first being The Who in April, we will go if they go ahead but if they are cancelled we will get our tickets refunded, we usually book car parking but haven’t yet this time. All of our holidays In the UK are in our own touring caravan so easily cancelled if needs be.

Lovemusic33 · 09/03/2020 21:22

Pink at the moment there’s only 3 cases in Dorset, I live here but am rural, the cases are in Poole and Bournemouth, it pretty easy to avoid busy confined areas here. We will still travel to Oxford at Easter unless our hotel cancels.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 09/03/2020 21:24

I'm jealous Lovemusic33, I love Dorset. We're going to Lyme Regis for 3 nights, quite possibly my favourite place in the world.

lovelyupnorth · 09/03/2020 21:32

With visitors down in some areas by nearly 50%. There’s going to be a lot of people out of work if this carry’s on.

Smashedavacado · 09/03/2020 21:34

We are going to Guernsey at the end of this week (having re-booked Flybe flight!) No coronavirus in Channel Islands - I'd hate to be responsible for taking it there! Hasten to add I have no symptoms at all the moment but you just never know - 3 positive cases in our county at the moment. If I was governing the channel islands I'd be tempted to "close " it now to visitors before it happens...

Lovemusic33 · 09/03/2020 21:39

Pink I am very lucky, have to say we have visited most of the uk and we still think Dorset is the best part (closely followed by Cornwall). Lyme Regis is lovely and doesn’t get too crowded, Bournemouth is the most populated area so would maybe avoid there, West bay and Burton Bradstock are not far from Lyme Regis, both pretty quiet. I’m sure you will have a great time.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 09/03/2020 21:41

I agree, I love Cornwall as well. We go to Lyme most years and we just seem to switch off. We often don't put the TV on and don't read the news as much as at home so it's a proper relaxing holiday

angelcakebananabrain · 09/03/2020 22:24

@Smashedavacado we’ve just had our first official case confirmed today...

wedding33 · 09/03/2020 22:27

@sweetmarmalade which insurance did you get in the end? I'm in similar position with uk break.

RosehipRuthie · 09/03/2020 22:44

I think I'd be much safer away on holiday than I am at home, living in the city, using public transport etc.
If we were on holiday, I'd be in a nice country cottage, self catering and either indoors reading or out walking in the fresh air, away from other people, most days.
I'd be very happy to do that, and if I didn't have caring responsibilities for elderly relations which make it very hard to get away for more than a night or two, I'd be booking a nice cottage with WiFi, packing my laptop so I could work from my temporary "home" for the next 4 weeks and hunkering down there.

SweetMarmalade · 09/03/2020 23:17

@wedding33 I went on the Meerkat comparison site and picked Coverwise who were the cheapest at £13.

angel oh no sorry to hear that - is that Jersey or Guernsey?

angelcakebananabrain · 09/03/2020 23:33

@smashed Guernsey, don’t think it’s in Jersey yet...

angelcakebananabrain · 10/03/2020 17:09

Scratch that, it’s in jersey now too

iswhois · 10/03/2020 17:24

I'm going to Bruges this weekend and Paris for Easter. All I'm hoping is that they don't shut anything down and I can still go.

I have just as much chance of getting it here commuting to London everyday. And my town already has 2 cases
