It's always been the same on MN whenever something's a 'hot topic', everyone wants their own thread.

Ridiculous really as if they kept it to one or two, there'd be far more info on all of them.

Some posters sound completely unhinged on those threads. Genuinely wondering how they get through daily life.

A sticky would help, so that people would know there is a topic for it, and the rest of us could avoid the millions of threads.

Hide the topic / threads, then?

How do you hide a topic? I’m hiding the threads one at a time but like gremlins you get rid of one and another pops up

If it’s all scaremongering, why are you so desperate to avoid seeing any threads? It feels to me that those complaining are doing so because the are feeling anxious every time they see one and want to avoid that, as opposed to being bored of them.

Nah it really is just boredom. Any subject that’s repeated over and over and over again gets tedious

I’m getting fed up of reading about it too- mainly because there is a lot of ridiculous statements being made that aren’t actually factual.

I'm desperate to avoid the threads as they are having a very negative effect on my mental health.

I am not a worrier or panicker by nature but this total, all out apocalypse scenario which so many of the posters are promoting is not healthy. They are all egging each other on, obsessing about figures and hyping it all up.
