This journalist admits that his reporting from Gaza was not accurate because he was afraid of retaliation from Hamas.
Why have so many believed every report from Gaza journalists?

Perhaps the unbearable suffering the Israelis are going through might be alleviated if they started treating the Palestinians as human beings with the dignity and rights that they deserve.

Are you suggesting the Israeli families, women, children, teenagers, old people deserved what happened on October 7?

If the Israelis are to blame for what happened to them on October 7 then the Palestinians are to blame for their subsequent suffering. @Squeezingwildoranges

That's what it sounded like to me, but sometimes I think its best not to give these skewed narratives any more airtime than necessary...

My point was only that this thread has served as evidence that many in the West have been taken in by an anti Israel narrative.

Many can't see it because it would be too dissonant with their internal idea of self as anti racist.

The Palestinians are the perfect oppressed, the Israeli's the perfect oppressor, and no competing narrative can be allowed to stand or all moral integrity is lost.

I agree - I think the thread is done and the point has been made @dairydebris

Of course they didn't deserve it anymore than the Palestinians deserved being brutally oppressed, dispossessed and treated as subhumans for the last eighty years.

And round we go again.
I think the thread has proved the point.

I don't see any point being proved other than the fact that the years of Israel gaslighting the population of the West who knew nothing about the conflict into believing Palestinians were just terrorists while plucky Israel was simply defending itself are now over. The truth is out of the box and Israels constant lying will not put it back.

That sort of simplistic thinking is very rare on the not-anti-Israel side in my experience so I'm not really sure who you are talking about.

SingingShrews · 28/09/2026 16:08

I would have thought that proving your point would be to giving examples of 'anti Israel lies' that have been told and then prove them to be lies with evidence. If you can prove that the lies came from Hamas then all the better.

I think most people can quickly list off some Israeli lies that people repeated mindlessly as truths, like they weren't in the vicinity when Hind was killed, the ambulances didn't have lights on, sophisticated Hamas headquarters under Al-Shifa, claims that Hamas were systematically stealing aid, Hamas camera.

Strange how people aren't doing that for Hamas propaganda instead they seem to flounder, refuse to engage in any meaningful way then say well uh, yeah, uh, I think my point is proven Confused

Martymcfly24 · 28/09/2026 16:54

I think that's a very important point @SingingShrews . The lies that have duped the West need to be laid bare. Perhaps some posters would like to share some that have been proven false.

If you believe the New York Post.

The New York Post maintains a strongly pro-Israel editorial and reporting stance. 1]
Independent media watchdog assessments and content analyses outline the publication's general position:

  • Editorial Stance: According to media analysis platforms like AllSides, the New York Post leans politically right-of-center and consistently adopts a supportive viewpoint toward Israel in its opinion columns and news coverage. 1]
  • Framing of Conflicts: The Post's opinion pieces and editorial board frequently criticize anti-Israel protests, campus demonstrations, and political figures critical of Israel, often framing them as dangerous or hostile to Jewish safety. 1]
  • Critical Coverage of Rivals: The Post frequently runs articles and columns critiquing other mainstream outlets—most notably The New York Times—charging them with harboring an anti-Israel bias. 1, 2]

I actually agree.

So I've gone through the thread and picked out some lies that have duped some in the west. Lots of them have been repeated by Hamas leaders but I'm not doing direct quotes as I don't have enough time. But anyone can look them up if they wish.

Also please note a lot of the more virulent anti Israel stuff has been deleted. Good.

So here are some lies that are on this one thread and why they are part of an anti Israel narrative.

  1. 'what happened in dier yassin was awful but what came before was a beautiful model of what Israel could be'

Its a lie because there was much tension and violence between Arab and Jew before 48, notably the Arab Revolt and Dhimmi status under Ottomans.

Its anti Israel because it delegitimizes the need for Jews to have their own state.

  1. 'palestinians are paying the price for western antisemitism and the holocaust'

Its a lie because in fact Palestinians are paying the price for their own leadership not declaring their own state back in 48, and for all the terrible decisions since. There was no reason they couldnt have accepted their state and begun building it. Instead leadership of the time chose to try to annihilate the Jews totally instead. Jordan and Egypt land grab have a part to play in this too. Palestinians are in fact paying the price for their puss poor leadership.

Its anti Israel for very obvious reasons, to frame the need for a homeland purely as a response to the Holocaust is a lie because so many Jewish ceremonies hark back to Jerusalem. The history, the archeology. Its harmful because again it seems to break the tie of the Jewish people to their homeland.

3 ) 'jews are westerners'

Is a lie because there are more Jewish people of MENA areas than European. Its also clearly not a western nation, its in the ME. Anyone whos been there knows this. It is not western.

Harmful because again its seeking to delegitimize Israeli indigenuity by framing them as western colonizers which is obviously rightly very much a non fashionable thing to be today.

4 ) 'its a genocide'

Often presented on here as a settled case which it very much isn't. No body with any jurisdiction has confirmed a genocide. So far its just an opinion.

Harmful for obvious reasons, seeking to cause utmost pain to Jewish people.

5 ) 'the IDF are terrorists'

Nope. Obviously not. They are an army. False equivalence. Again seeking to equate Hamas actions with IDF actions is very anti Israel. By all means go ahead and criticize their conduct in the war, their civilian / combatants ratio etc. But saying the IDF are the same as Hamas is very much an anti Israel lie and that really should be obvious.

Lastly, not a lie as such, but special mention to the poster who wasn't offended at the pulling down of posters of Israeli hostages. So obviously hateful and dehumanizing for those innocent kidnapped, very clearly anti Israeli.

Cheers for the special mention. Maybe you can tell me why those political posters being torn down is anti Israeli, dehumanising and hateful but firing someone for speaking about those innocents killed in Gaza isn't dehumanising, anti Palestinian and hateful? Why was it not hateful and dehumanising to object when UEFA displayed their stop killing children banner? All are doing the same thing, raising awareness.

Why is one sacred to you and not the others?

Ive no idea what youre talking about, I've never said any of the things youre talking about, I literally don't know what incidents youre describing.

Stop killing children though is a pretty innocuous message, id never have a problem with that obviously. Taking down such a message wouldn't be dehumanizing anyone, its not referring to anyone to dehumanize.

Tearing down someone's actual likeness, their actual face, because you feel you might disagree with the 'politics' behind that face ( even when you don't know that petsons politics at all ) is the absolute definition of dehumanizing someone. Sorry if you can't see that, its bloody obvious to everyone else.

So desperate to wash over israels war crimes.

Not at all. I would like Israel to answer for any and all war crimes that have been committed. ( And there are serious and terrible questions to answer) I want this to happen in a proper manner.
However Hamas crimes are far worse because they knowingly triggered this conflict and, unlike the Israeli government, they deliberately put their citizens in harm’s way and steal money meant for civilians.
The fact that posters on this thread thought it was ok to deface or tear down posters of babies kidnapped by Hamas ( because they were “emotive” and “political “🙄) reveals a very bigoted and pro Hamas mindset.

They're not worse and Israel has been bombing and murdering civilians for decades.

Do you need me to explain the difference between a non specific message 'stop killing children' and the tearing down of a specific persons face? Really?

If I went about ripping down posters of Hind, while she was waiting to be rescued no less, wouldn't you think that was quite dehumanizing? I would. I wouldn't do it nor condone it.

Tbh I can't make head not tail of the rest of your arguments, but I'm very flattered you'd go back through a year of my posts, thankyou xxx
