My apologies a deadly shooting attack, not a bus attack as terrorists have used over the years against Israel

Absolutely horrific.
My opposition to the genocide in Gaza doesn't not mean I don't feel horrified about attacks on innocent Israelis.

Lolapusht · 08/09/2025 16:46

Today’s attack is the Intifada btw.

This is what is being referred to when people chant “Globalise the Intifada”.

Gloriia · 08/09/2025 16:53

Just horrific.

As a pp said and some wonder why Israel needs a strong border.

It’s not going to end, not any time soon.

Think about what each side would have to give up in order for that to happen.

Israel would have to cease all military activity in Gaza & WB, probably accept Hamas and trust that they won’t be attacked by any of the multiple groups/countries who want them dead. Would you put down your weapons if someone is coming at you with a gun?

Hamas would have to stop attacking Israel, give up power, stop siphoning off aid money and agree to a transformation of UNRWA etc.

Is like this ceasefire. Israel wants all the hostages released and Hamas removed from power. There is no way all the hostages are going to be released. Neither is Hamas going to step down plus they’d also want Israel to stop all military activity in Gaza which Israel is never going to agree to.

Today’s attacks are going to see tighter restrictions on Palestinians crossing into Israel which will further anti-Israel feeling there and in the West. The terrorists families will receive their monthly stipend for killing Jews which will further distrust of the aPA as a viable alternative to Hamas. Settlers are going to continue moving into contested areas in WB and Palestinians will continue to carry out terror attacks along with Hamas continuing their war.

Nobody has an answer, but 7 Oct put back any chance of a vaguely permanent peace for years. As did today’s attack. I have no doubt that was tuned to scupper the ceasefire agreement so more civilians are being sacrificed for their leaders’ cause.

An insightful post. That statement from Hamas below is just awful. The language and intent. We are very removed from that kind of violent rhetoric.

Exactly. And this is what thousands march through our streets calling for every weekend. Hamas have said they feel bolstered by Western support and they congratulated today's terrorists. This is why they're known as hate marches. Yet people will still march, we know Jewish lives mean nothing to them. How many banners are there calling for the release of hostages or condemning Hamas for starting this war?

So many cheerleaders for hamas in the west. They darent say it publicity lest they get arrested for supporting a terrorist organisation many will be jubilant and see this as 'the resistance' aka bloodthirsty terrorists fighting back.

And the 'globalise' part is why every synagogue, every Jewish school, every Jewish cultural organisation, every Jewish event, has enhanced security, panic buttons, lockdown systems and a rota of amazing volunteers to suppprt their securlty and reassure their community.

"In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate" ..... in his name they kill.

I never get religious comments, when they kill in the same of a God, that they also call merciful.. Makes no sense.

Also the bare faced cheek of calling out fascism!

IGaveSoManySigns · 08/09/2025 17:12

Is this not just what happens in war?

childofthe607080s · 08/09/2025 17:13

War is terrible indeed

No. Wars are fought between soldiers. This was a terrorist attack directly, and intentionally on civilians. Very basic.

Quite ironic when the genocide in Gaza is continually referred to as “war”.

It is a war, fought between the IDF and Hamas.

Ah, so when Palestinians are murdered it’s war. When it’s Israelis it’s a terror attack? Interesting that only one group of civilians matter to you.

Not ironic at all.

Were those hamas soldiers wearing their uniforms on the bus. I thought they only saved them for parades.

No thats not the difference between a war and a terrorist attack. You know nothing about what matters to me.

Could you point me to where in their statement Hamas said that? Even they aren't suggesting that. Why are you making excuses for them? Are you aware that its illegal to support Hamas?

Wow. Not a shred of compassion for the victims of this terrorist atrocity, just using it as an opportunity for some kind of gotcha.

Dead Israelis, in nearly all cases Jews, don’t attract much sympathy on MN, or among NGOs, the UN or most western governments frankly.

It’s all antisemitism rearing its ugly head again.

You see it from Israel with the “Amalek” comments too. I never understand it
