I was thinking about this and surely the least confrontational and easiest solution here is to simply allow the flotilla into Gaza and then not allow them to leave.

They can then fully understand the situation in Gaza, what it is like to live there and what life under a Hamas Government means.

I'm sure that people like "Ted" will find the experience truly enlightening:

Agree. Let them in and leave them there. Hamas will welcome them.

They might even end up staying. I'm sure Thunberg thinks she's the warrior to turn Gaza around.

Also hope they will be safe despite not agreeing with what they are doing as it’s performative in my opinion.

I think maybe it’s fair that repeat offenders like Greta should be put in prison for a short while. She has already been removed from Gaza once for trespassing. She can’t expect to keep illegally entering another country’s waters where she is definitely not welcome, with no consequences.

Of course the protesters should all be kept safe but it’s creating extra work to keep removing them.

Repeat offender? Are you quite well?

At least she gives a stuff about genocide. And is putting her money where he mouth is.

Shame she doesn't understand what genocide is, then.

She could head up the new government. Show them the way.

I don't really understand this. Why do you think Israel should be able to decide that they can't leave? Genuinely what is your thought process with this, that you think trapping people who are trying to deliver aid in a war zone would be a good thing?

I really don't understand why people trying to deliver aid are receiving such ire. Some of you think that they are breaking the law and should be put in prison 'indefinitely' others saying trap them in a war zone because they want to deliver nappies and formula to children like this?!

allusernamesaretakennow · 08/09/2025 15:21

Surely no one believes that she is really trying to deliver aid. Surely no one believes that. Meanwhile I understand the UN won't work with GHF to deliver the sid stuck at the border. Its a conflict zone, endangering people doesn't really help though.

Protest for release of hostages, Hamas gone and conflict to end. Then, pressure on Israel will mean end to conflict once hostages are out.

Her self importance tells her she can "make a difference". Pity nobody bothered to tell her that making a difference is meant to be a serious prospect.

Yes? Greta has done this before hasn’t she and been made to get on a plane to leave almost immediately .

The same one she was removed for last time? And others on her previous flotilla.

She will be sent straight home again this time I expect though a short stay in prison might teach her to stop wasting the IDFs time & resources at a time when they are trying to fight a war not have to put up with her performative antics.

The others on her previous flotilla who refused to leave has to go to court didn’t they, to be forced to leave which they eventually did.

And what was that offence?

Legally if the blockade territory is not adequately supplied with food and/or other essentials then medical supplies and humanitarian aid must also be permitted to pass through the blockade. See the San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea, paras. 103-104. I think we can all agree that Gaza is not supplied with all of the essentials.

All of the people on the ship are entitled to protection under the Geneva Conventions and must be treated in accordance with those conventions as well as international human rights law.

You and the Israeli government may not like that they are bringing much needed aid to Gaza but it isn't an offence.

The IDF are the good guys in this are they. . Oh right then😳

People trying to save lives are bad. And should be in jail.

No talking to people in the upside down

I hope she does waste those murdering rapist’s time! Honestly who cares about the IDF’s time when they spend it bombing people! They are just as bad as Hamas.

Well firstly after being deported from Israel she can't then decide to enter Israel in order to catch a flight out.

Secondly I doubt that there will be any fuel available in Gaza to refuel / provision their sailing boats. And trying to get back to Barcelona on sail alone in Autumn is a recipe for disaster.

Of course they could take a stroll down to Rafah and ask the Egyptians nicely if they would let through but based on the last protest March going across Sinai and trying to cross the border into Gaza, that's probably not a good idea either.

That said I'm sure that Hamas would make good use of them as human shields

Oh please what? We keep being told on here that they should be locked up, that they are committing an offence, that they should be trapped in Gaza. For what? Not a single person has come up an actual offence that these people who are attempting to break the siege are committing.

All of this hate and aggression towards people who are attempting to break a siege that has seen children die from malnutrion and 1000s more suffering.

All irrelevant to my point. The 'aid' they are bringing is in such small quantities as to be insignificant and without a distribution system is irrelevant. Anyone who works in emergency or development aid will tell you.

1dayatatime · 08/09/2025 17:35

Looking at the maths of this:

There are 350 people travelling to Gaza on 20 vessels or an average of 17 people per vessel. From Barcelona it will take them two to three weeks sailing/ motoring.

To feed and water 17 people every day for 2 to 3 weeks means that there is simply no room to transport aid to Gaza. They would be lucky if they can deliver a pot noodle each.

Plus of course there is the journey back, they won't get any supplies or fuel from Hamas (assuming they are allowed to leave). So I guess they will have to go nicely to the Israelis to see if they can help them out.

Its all Tik Tok driven virtue signalling with stuff all thought on the practicalities.

quantumbutterfly · 08/09/2025 17:38

She's following a grand tradition of clueless westerners going out to join islamic extremists if the news from daesh was anything to go by.

Usually they do it a bit more surreptitiously, it's almost as if they want to be stopped. Surely not. I'm with pp's who say call their bluff.
