Lush, what is the point?!

Lush closing stores for 24hr 'in solidarity of Gaza'.

What a ridiculous empty gesture.

Surely a better idea would be to stay open for 24 hrs and donate all extra income to a Gazan charity, or close but all staff to attend an intifada with flasks and placards <'free palestine' naturally, do not mentions the hostages!>

I quite liked Lush I'll ensure to shop elsewhere going forward.

So we can only discuss issues on here if we have been in direct contact with the company in question to volunteer? I had no idea.

No - I’m saying that you have a good idea and should share it with them.

'The same names' don't want anyone to starve. I'm particularly concerned about skeletal hostages. Do Lush mean feed the hostages do you think?

A day off for Lush staff will not help civilians suffering in war zones.

Edited

Do you believe that Israeli hostages are being starved, mutilated and murdered in anything like the quantities that Palestinians are? What evidence do you have for this?
Even if Hamas has committed many such atrocities, do you really believe that it's right for the innocent children who happen to have been born in the same country as Hamas to be deliberately starved, or murdered as they queue for a drink of water?
This is not an unintended consequence of war, it's deliberate. The UN has spoken out against it.
And it turns out that the purpose of this thread is not to have a laugh at Lush for closing their shops as stated, but to spread Israeli propaganda.

I believe every life matters and if there is a company whether Lush or UEFA last month who want to make a statement about gaza then all victims should matter.

So a generic 'end the conflict in gaza' should be used. If you're going to go to the trouble of giving your staff an extra day off then have a balanced, unbiased stance.

No-one should be murdered whilst queuing for aid i agree, hamas and other terrorist groups shooting civilians are despicable thats why the IDF are getting rid of them.

There's never any excuse for a genocide. Taking hostages isn't good either, but in this case, the suffering and the violation of human rights is not the same scale.
It's a genocide.
Hamas has not done anything comparable.
BTW, it's not Hammas who are sniping at people queuing for food. Why would they do that?

Performative, look at me, aren’t I virtuous nonsense.

Why do you consider expressing abhorrence for a deliberate starvation policy “virtuous”?

Read again. I have not said it is virtuous to express abhorrence. I have clearly said the company closing for one day is IT saying ‘ aren’t I virtuous’ . Massive difference. Hope this calms you down.

I’m perfectly calm, thank you.

So what’s virtuous about a company taking the same stance?

Mumsnet is a conversation between everyone on here. Not just to the person who starts the thread
That’s not how it works

You believe you can dictate who asks questions about your posts/opinions on a public forum?
Thats not the way it works.
