Yet again tonight, 7 families will be waiting and hoping by their phones.
I hope one family has their prayers answered.

9 pm tonight (in half an hour).

"Hamas holding remains of hostage Lt. Hadar Goldin in Rafah tunnel with Hamas terrorists
According to the report, this is the main reason why the IDF and Israel's leadership have refrained from striking that position.
The remains of hostage Lt. Hadar Goldin are being held in the same tunnel within Israeli-controlled territory in the Gaza Strip as the 150 Hamas terrorists Hamas has been demanding safe passage for, Army Radio said on Wednesday.
According to the report, this is the main reason why the IDF and Israel's leadership have refrained from striking that position.
According to Army Radio's Doron Kadosh, the report "clarifies what we already knew: Hamas can bring Hadar Goldin back and does not do so."
Goldin was taken captive on August 1, 2014, during Operation Protective Edge. He was working to dismantle a terror tunnel in Rafah when two Hamas terrorists emerged from the tunnel and took him captive.
Hamas is set to return the remains of another Israeli hostage on Wednesday at 9:00 p.m., the terror organization announced in a statement.
Outside of Goldin, the remaining hostages in Gaza are Meny Godard, Ran Gvili, Joshua Loitu Mollel, Dror Or, Lior Rudaeff, and Sudthisak Rinthalak.
On Tuesday, Hamas returned the remains of Staff-Sergeant Itay Chen, while they also returned Col. Asaf Hamami, 40, Capt. Omer Neutra, 21, and St.-Sgt. Oz Daniel, 19, on Sunday.
An October report by The Jerusalem Post disclosed that Hamas has always known where Hamami and Goldin were and had been stalling their return."

i saw the video of the brutal attack on him right at the beginning of the war, and it stuck with me. Heartbreaking. May his family find comfort and healing.

I hope that Joshua Mollel's family find a measure of comfort in their grief now that they have him home.

I understand it is now Shabbat and therefore none of you will be able to read the news online etc.

The Times of Israel is reporting that there may be a hostage returned tonight, as someone was ' found ' today, this is what is being reported:
'After Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s announcement earlier today that it will hand over the body of a hostage, PIJ and fellow terror group Hamas specify they will do so at 9 p.m. Israel time.
According to Hamas, the body — it is not specified whose — was found today in Khan Younis.'

I hope there is a family receiving the phone call tonight.

It appears another hostage has been located, and a family have been visited at home by the IDF chief.
However it is not thought that there will be a hostage return tonight, and therefore a family waits..
alongside 4 other families hoping.

Thanks Glaswegian- the hostage in question is Hadar Goldin, who was taken in 2014. His body has been held for 11 years. His family have had a visit from the military this evening, but no more than that has been published at present

Twiglets1 · 09/11/2025 10:28

Reuters are reporting that Hamas' armed wing said it would hand over the body of an Israeli soldier, Hadar Goldin, who was killed in 2014, at 2 p.m. (1200 GMT) on Sunday.

It said Goldin's body had been located in a tunnel in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday.

Twiglets1 · 09/11/2025 14:56

The Prime minister's office has confirmed that Israel has received a body that Hamas claims is that of Lt. Hadar Goldin.

Netanyahu said earlier that tests to verify his identity will begin “immediately” after his body is handed over.

“IDF reservists, members of Lt. Hadar Goldin’s company when he was killed and abducted by Hamas in 2014, traveled today to the Gaza Strip in order to escort his body back to Israel after it was returned by the terror group.
The military releases images showing Goldin’s comrades alongside the coffin with his remains, 11 years after he was killed during the 2014 Gaza War.”
I cannot imagine what his family must be experiencing today after 11 long years with no closure.

Twiglets1 · 09/11/2025 17:54

That’s some kind of closure at last for his family, friends & comrades ❤️

Thank goodness ! All these years - there are just no words.
I am so pleased it was the truth and not another ' mistake '.

A little video popped up on my Facebook feed, I am sure many of you will have seen it, and I am unable to copy it onto here,

but this is the wording:

" Hundreds of residents from the Eshkol region gathered today at the Gama Junction to accompany the convoy carrying the coffin of a kidnapped victim whose body was recently returned to Israel.
While official identification has not yet been confirmed, Hamas has claimed that the body belongs to the late Hadar Goldin, an IDF soldier who was killed and taken in 2014. "

We do now know that it was the return of Hadar Goldin.

I found it very moving.

I also saw a post saying:

Hadar Goldin’s unit — the same soldiers who were with him in 2014 when he was kidnapped by Hamas — have spent this year on reserve duty receiving the coffins of fallen hostages. Today, they received his.

After 11 years, his unit finally brought him home.
