Thoughts to his family and loved ones. Thank you to @OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon for not letting him be forgotten.

We all pray for peaceful co-existence in the future. The future governance of Iran is crucial to stability in the region now.

And thank you too.

Hoping for more concrete steps towards peace and thinking of his loved ones.

No other words.

Thank you for all those who staunchly campaigned, spoke up, and kept the hostages plight visible

Wow.

The last hostage.

Thank you - I offered to keep this thread going for the times that the others could not post i.e. on Fridays, I never wished to step on any one's toes by doing so and sometimes left it until quite late just incase to allow for other posters to update.

There have been many, many posters on the 5 threads and @EllaDisenchanted has been very informative on these threads.

I have been unable to find who started the first thread...
Thread No 2 was started by @StarbucksSmarterSister

Thank you to everyone who has started these threads and kept them going for all of this time. Checking it became part of my daily routine and reminded me how other people were feeling the same as me, when I wasn’t necessarily seeing that in my every day life.
Thoughts have been with Ran’s family and all the other hostages and their families today. I hope we never need one of these threads ever again.

Thank you to those who started these threads and those that kept them going ❤️

They have a quiet dignity.

Thank you for this thread, haven't found anyone IRL with an ounce of compassion for the hostages. So relieved they are all home, at last

weareallequal · 27/01/2026 08:32

I will light a candle tonight to remember them all, as well as everyone lost in the Holocaust.

I heard this last week, and it came up again on my Facebook - I was unable to cut and paste that link but I believe this link should work.

I believe it should be a safe link, it's from Jewish Breaking News so I guess it is their instagram page.

This is what they wrote:

Idan Amedi Sings “Nigmar” at Ran Gvili’s Funeral, Honoring Israel’s Fallen Heroes

At the funeral of Israel Police special patrol unit (Yasam) fighter Ran Gvili in Meitar, singer and IDF reservist Idan Amedi stepped up and performed his ballad “Nigmar” (“It’s Over”).

After singing, Amedi looked out at the crowd and said: “There are so many heroes in this country.”

Gvili, 24, was killed fighting Hxmas terrorists during the Oct. 7 massacre, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists dragged his remains into Gaza—making him the last Israeli captive still held there until his recovery and return for burial.

The ceremony drew thousands, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog among those paying respects—turning a private goodbye into a national moment of closure, grief, and resolve.

I believe he also sung this at the funeral of Hadar Goldin

I don't think he is the first to take his own life after Oct 7th, and sadly I don't think he will be the last.

dairydebris · 03/08/2026 16:27

I hope he is now finally at peace.

The tragedy is ongoing but over for him now.

Twiglets1 · 03/08/2026 17:27

So much trauma.

I've heard of others before but I came across this story today. Very sad. Ongoing consequences from that very dark day.

weareallequal · 04/08/2026 10:35

I realise this is an old thread and seeing the story took me back to when many posters were waiting for the final hostage to be released. Time has past but these people are not forgotten. October 7th was awful and will not be forgotten by many.

My thoughts to all those struggling with what happened that day, to the families and friends and to the hostages who were eventually 'brought home'. For many who are unable to move on, peace be with you all. ❤🕊
