Will Israel recognise Palestinians as humans?

Hmmm well good question

There’s a massive ocean of political possibilities between a liberal party and Ben Gvir.

This is the problem with PR and we will have the same issues here if we change our FPTP
system.

indoorplantqueen · 25/07/2025 13:22

@PurpleChrayni have eyes, ears and a brain. Hardly rocket science. Do you not watch the news or read newspapers?
where’s the evidence that the population has grown? Even if it has both can be equally true. Genocide and babies being born.

Voxon · 25/07/2025 13:50

147 out of 193 UN member states officially recognise the State of Palestine. One more or even 20 more doesn't make much difference to anything.

Albeit, it's a symbol.

But there is no coherent government to this state. No coherent borders. This state largely doesn't recognise the right of its neighbouring state to exist and will almost certainly continue to wage war and terror on it. This state doesn't bother to govern or protect its civilians, it doesn't even pretend to uphold international law and is somehow "let off" entirely of any need to do so.

In this "state", Palestinians won't miraculously be "free". They'd be in a chaotic, opressed, deeply divided regime where the most powerful force is cyrrently jihadi terrorists in cahoots with iran to create a caliphate.

And of course after being rewarded for murder rale, kidnapping and crimes against humanity I'd imagine the stage will be set to attack Israel even more seriously than Oct 7.

I appreciate many people have a fantasy of that happenning and Israel being taken over, maybe shipping the Jews to Poland or tossing them in the sea - but that really isn't going to happen.

What would happen is a war more brutal than the current one.

Any sensible person who actually wanted to preserve life would call for Palestine to be deradicalised, demilitarised and to form a coherent and peaceful society but I think they're all lost in it like it's some movie. Sigh.

It' fell by 6% in 2024 which is why I was wondering where they got this statistic.

Gaza’s population is falling, while Israel’s growth is slowing | CNN

Gaza’s population dropped by 6% – about 160,000 people – in 2024, according to a new report, as Israel’s war against Hamas took a heavy toll on the Palestinian enclave’s demographics.

Most likely from 'X' where you regularly find such nonsense.

@Voxon I think I would speak for most posters here who want exactly that. An independent Palestinian state under a deradicalised government that only wants the a peaceful life for all it's citizens.

I have found in the last couple of days there are many posters who have made huge claims like this or another one where they were asked about " all the malnourished children were sick anyway""loads of fat adults in Gaza ""and when you ask for proof you are completely ignored or told to open your eyes.

Yes, almost as reliable as Instagram.

As long as it’s anti-Israel.

TooBigForMyBoots · 25/07/2025 14:02

Well done France. Hopefully the UK and other countries follow.

The video footage of Shani Louk's paraded body tells us Gazans still support Hamas.

I agree that was vile.

doesn’t make starving children ok.

I don't believe I said I did. I was responding to a post about disbelieving Palestine still support Hamas.

PaxAeterna · 25/07/2025 16:43

@Voxon You think the government in France are lost like they are in a movie?? Really?

“147 out of 193 UN member states officially recognise the State of Palestine. One more or even 20 more doesn't make much difference”

it will. France is a G7 member. This is a big deal and hopefully we’ll see other countries follow suit now. It says to Israel - we don’t just want peace. We want peace that is just for both sides.

How is it relevant, really? Children are STARVING and this is a MAN MADE famine.
why are we debating the what ifs and what abouts…who cares? Israel is blocking aid. The GHF is a catastrophe.
Children are starving to death because of Israel’s actions. Whether their parents support hamas is neither here nor there. (And before someone says ‘ooh but what about Dresden’ etc I’ll say that I believe that was a war crime as well.)

No, I think it’s the people who believe this nonsense that are. As for the French government - they’re either clueless or willfully sympathetic to terrorism. Probably both.

If you feel like this is some great victory, enjoy it. But as I said it doesnt mean anything to ordinary Palestinians. The only ones celebrating are Hamas, who’ve already expressed their thanks - because they know symbolic gestures like this fuel their narrative. Palestinians have been covered a state half a dozen times.

And the core lie remains: Palestinians still refuse to recognise Israel’s right to exist. There is no evidence that has changed. So this is just more empty political theatre.

The issue for the last 80 years hasn’t been a lack of recognition for Palestine - it’s been Palestine’s relentless refusal to recognise Israel, and an ongoing campaign to destroy it. There’s still no sign that this mindset has shifted at all.

So if you see "victory" in empowering that, go ahead. Not sure what you'll say when they start the next war though. Probably be all israels fault.

Lioncub2020 · 25/07/2025 17:25

We need to do this too. Israel's proven they are far to keen to kill babies.

Dangermoo · 25/07/2025 17:25

Israel, navigating their way through determining terrorists from civilians.

I'm not surprised hard left Macron has taken this stance. He shafts the UK, when it comes to taking immigrant numbers.

I think indiscriminately killing anyone is a better description. Terrorist babies don't exist.
