"Without doubt" Israel has committed war crimes"

I wonder if he feels guilty now for all the times he denied Israel had committed war crimes, when he knew all along he was lying and they had and continue to do so.

I would like to think he does but I highly doubt it.

• It was "without a doubt true that Israel has committed war crimes";
• That Israeli soldiers were not being "held accountable";

Former Biden official Matthew Miller Israel has 'without doubt' committed war crimes in Gaza

In a wide-ranging interview for Sky News' Trump 100 podcast, Matthew Miller also said if he was "outside of government" he would have preferred a "better candidate" for the 2024 presidential election than Mr Biden.

Awaiting the but hamas contingency to pile in, anything to divert from the truth

BelleHathor · 02/06/2025 14:44

Of course not, no guilt. He knew, we knew, he knew that we knew and most of the world knew too 18 months ago. He did his job and provided the cover to allow the crimes against humanity to take place.

All this backpeddling by certain parties is the biggest exercise of "cover my ass" ever And "oh shit we've got to save Israel from itself, the world is losing support, quick let blame just Netanyahu".

Any one who provided cover is fully complicit and the history books will show it, too late for crocodile tears.

Sadly, i agree with you. I used to feel such anger whenever I used to hear him speak obvious lies on the podium which only a few brave journalists would challenge.

They are just jumping the sinking ship now? So I'm future they can say we did call out the war crimes so don't point fingers at us.

It’s horrendous all the back tracking enablers, as if over a certain amount of civilians dead, maimed and starving suddenly makes it ‘too much’.

I think too that it is deliberate action to only speak up now, after months of murder and starvation.

They watched the horrors as we did and care not about the public opinion or Palestinians as Israel razed to the ground homes, infrastructure, slaughtered civilians, doctors and journalists. If Gaza is rebuilt as they will only do so again, they know one one will stop them.

Israel understands exactly what it can get away with now, murder and obliteration.

It is sad, the "mission" has mostly been completed, 92% of structures in Gaza have been destroyed. The ship jumpers don't want to be there for the ugly bit, where we "discover" that the 60'000 dead is closer to the Lancet 150'000+ (a bit hard to count the dead when the people who do the counting are killed).

Thats not right is it? The figure is 92% residential structures damaged OR destroyed. There is a big difference between damage and destruction. How does an army avoid damaging or destroying rezidential structures if the guerillas they are fighting hide out in residential structures? Would it be possible to have some perspective and balance?

Whatsinanamehey · 02/06/2025 16:10

Israeli ministers have talked about 'razing Gaza to the ground' quite openly and their words have translated into physical action.

Meanwhile IDF soldiers have recorded themselves blowing up a building for a gender reveal and as birthday tributes to family members. They are fucking psychos.

Totally agree, and there must be thousands of dead bodies under the rubble 😢

Absolutely especially when you consider the amount of whole families that have been wiped out so they can't be recorded. Or the fact people have been displaced so many times it's very easy to lose track of neighbors and friends.

Interview is very interesting he's saying enough to assuage his own guilt but not really condemning the actions completely.

Badh · 02/06/2025 16:53

@SharonEllis You’re so right Sharon. It’s more accurate to say that 90% of Gazan’s are displaced now. There is still more “work” to do before the goal of destroying every building has been achieved.

yes jumping ship near the end. Getting closer to the part where everyone was always against this.

Stirabout · 03/06/2025 13:41

Has Starmer admitted it yet.?
or does he still have his head in the sand too scared to speak out against Netanyahu about genocide and war crimes

Of course
Perspective and balance = don’t bomb civilians

Don't declare war on your neighbour without protecting your civilians.

Don't use your civilians as human shields.

Learn the difference between 'damage' and 'destruction'

Don't obfuscate for propaganda purposes

Don't fall for terrorist propaganda

Absolutely nothing at all justifies widespread airstrikes and bombing of refugee tents and buildings of displaced people.

BelleHathor · 03/06/2025 14:12

No one needs "terrorist propaganda", the images/videos are there in full colour and 4K for the whole world to see.

Most of the mainstream media discriminate in what and how they cover Gaza (Palestinians "die", Israelis are "murdered" etc).

Well he's done a bit of hand wringing, and said its not very nice to starve people, thats about it 🙄

AnnaBalfour · 03/06/2025 14:17

I’m shocked that Keir and the rest of the world powers have stood by and allowed it out of caution (utter cowardice) terrified of being slandered as “anti-Semitic’ or ‘pro Hamas’.

Netanyahu is using this tactic on Macron as some relentless MN’ers do to silence criticism of the genocide.

He's gone all out yet again I see. I wish our PM would grow a back bone!

It's beyond shocking and I can't actually comprehend it. I am thinking about it and everyday and wish there was more we could do but feel powerless. I am holding onto the fact that one day, there will be a reckoning.

Agree
Palestinians picked up off the street and locked up in Israeli jails are called
prisoners….
that’s not what a prisoner is. It immediately makes them out to be guilty of something

Glad to see on here mumsnetters, with an understanding, call them detainees
( we tried to use the word hostage in the early days but got shouted down and shamed and ultimately all thrown off one thread I remember [ I had a different username then] )

Are the hostages all free yet? Are the war crimes committed by Hamas being held to scrutiny? I see taht more weapons caches are still being cleared by Israel. Are Hamas still shooting Palestinians who dare to get food for free from aid agencies as opposed to paying Hamas for what is being shipped FOC over the border and being hoarded by them? Just asking

You need to read around the subject from more than one ???? questionable source

Think you’ll find if you do the IDF shot at a lot of people trying to get some food. As of the news today this has happened for the third day running with some of the starving being killed and a doctor describing the scenes as ‘carnage’. Apparently the propaganda machine said they shot warning shots into the air. Were starving Palestinians parachuting in to get the aid then…or do they have wings perhaps 🤔

BelleHathor · 03/06/2025 14:38

But Hamas, But Hamas, But Hamas......

Some people are honestly going to be uttering the same 3 or 4 talking points as if it's a defence against crimes against humanity and the attempt by the Israeli government to destroy a population in whole or in part.

I can see court now "look what they made me do, I had to shoot 300 bullets into that car to kill 6 year old Hind".
