Did anyone see this last night? Heartbreaking and enraging in equal measure.

The BBC bosses will not like Government ministers reminding them of the need for impartiality and due diligence. It may well affect changes to renewal of the BBC licensing fee.

So this child's life looked pretty shit, so what does that say for other children living in Gaza

Exactly, a living hell

AnxiousRose · 21/02/2025 11:21

It is increadibly naive to think that a documentary could be made in Gaza without having any links to Hamas. Do you seriously think things are much better in Gaza than than are shown in this documentary?

Israeli actions have reduced Gaza to rubble, and have had a profound effect on the children living there. It is a living hell.

Its very clear we have desperate attempts by supporters of Israel to attack and suppress an account of the situation in Gaza that isn't
favourable to Israel.

It has been removed from iPlayer.

UnGattino · 21/02/2025 12:10

Well it’s all academic now, the BBC has pulled the Gaza documentary off air. It’s no longer available on iPlayer.

The BBC Hamas propaganda video has gone.

What else is new? Ah yes, Hamas claimed that Israe killed the Bibas children and their mother in an air strike. Forensic examination of the corpses reveals that the kids were murdered and that Hamas didn’t even send back the mother, but a random body.

Mmmm, maybe there’s a lesson in there somewhere…could be that Hamas lie? And pile depravity on top of more lies and more lies? Surely not!

And a final lesson for all the “oh so concerned , think of the children (unless they’re Israeli children in which case I don’t give a damn) citizens in the West: The Bibas family were not kidnapped by Hamas. They were kidnapped by Gazan “civilians” and sold like property to another jihadist group.

It’s an ugly truth, an uncomfortable truth, but it’s the truth. And you are not sincere in wanting to understand this conflict and this war - or sincere in wanting to solve this conflict and end this war - if you refuse to acknowledge it.

Lolapusht · 21/02/2025 12:11

…and it’s been removed due to concerns while an investigation is carried out.

To be sincere in understanding the conflict you have to sincerely look at it from both sides.

If you want to watch a Hamas propaganda video, go and download one from the internet somewhere.

It is not for the BBC, our public service broadcaster, to broadcast the propaganda of a terrorist group with the name of the BBC on it.

UnGattino · 21/02/2025 12:21

“Israeli actions have reduced Gaza to rubble, and have had a profound effect on the children living there. It is a living hell”.

Oh my god, really? And I suppose the fact that Hamas took an ideological choice to turn Gaza into an integrated weaponised landscape for the singular purpose of destroying Israel has nothing to do with it? Nor the fact that Hamas cynically put their own children on the battlefield to be martyred for their cause to garner the sympathy of credulous westerners? No, i guess those two realities don’t play a part at all.

I will watch this documentary again when it's back on the iplayer 😊

And I will continue to understand that this conflict is not black and white. That Hamas are wrong & the Israeli govt are wrong.

noblegiraffe · 21/02/2025 12:32

Hamas are a proscribed terrorist organisation.

This isn't a 'whoops, the BBC weren't as impartial as they should be' situation. This is a 'working with terrorists' situation.

Travelodge · 21/02/2025 12:34

AnxiousRose · 20/02/2025 14:06

I am shocked by this too, it's absoutley horrific.

Yes, it’s terrible. Wars are terrible, and wars fought in heavily populated civilian areas are dreadful. Children suffer.

Thats why it’s better not to start wars.

Isreal and Hamas are both guilty of war crimes.

It's increadibly important that both sides are shown.

And it's very nieve to think that a documentary could be made in Gaza without Hamas input.

You don't seem to understand what 'proscribed' means.

‘Murder them all’? Where did that happen?

I’ve been following that account for a while.
What I don’t understand is, they often post videos from Gaza that look quite obviously staged. Like there were multiple very similar clips of a dad running and hiding with his two kids from gunfire/ bombing (?).
Always the same guy, the same spot, the same camera angle. Camera positioned conveniently (he wasn’t holding it).
There were at least three or four of these clips, from seemingly different days, but otherwise very similar.
In other clips people were allegedly running from gunfire, yet the ‘gunfire’ was a soundtrack played on repeat.
What’s the purpose of these videos? Why create this seemingly fake material?

SovietSpy · 21/02/2025 13:48

If a documentary cannot be made without Hamas involvement (a proscribed terrorist organisation as mentioned above) then the BBC should not be showing it, because they cannot guarantee its accuracy. Similarly, the news and media outlets should be stating ‘Hamas, a proscribed terrorist organisation, claimed x, y, z’ in their reports because again we cannot trust or verify the accuracy of anything they claim.

The fact the BBC even aired this was a stupid mistake and given its so obvious Hamas has control of everything (the staunch pro pals admit this) then why is the BBC working with tv producers over there and worse, handing them money no doubt. Similarly, quoting Hamas without the caveat they are a terror group is disingenuous and, unfortunately, gives this despicable collection of psychopaths legitimacy when they should be given zero.

And if you disagree with Hamas being clearly categorised as what they are, then you are probably a support of terrorism.

Anybody not supporting and working towards a two state solution are in support of terrorism. Because like it or not Hamas and Israel are both guilty of terrorism.
