Conflict in the Middle East

Are Hamas as thick as they are evil?!

Newbutoldfather · 09/02/2025 08:25

After seeing masked, uniformed well-fed Hamas soldiers humiliating emaciated hostages, does anyone even feel a shred of sympathy for them?

Can’t they even understand how bad this looks and what the consequences will be both for themselves and, more importantly, for the rest of the Palestinians?

It would be hard for them to be as thick as they are evil, because they are extremely evil, but I think they might have achieved it…

With respect, do you feel the same way about the IRA or the UVF / UDA? Terrorism is terrorism. Just because somebody says they are fighting for freedom doesn't make it so. Inevitably they are always fighting for power, and their "own people" have no more value to them that those of the "opposing side".

Nelson Mandela was once thought of as a terrorist. I don’t condone what the IRA did but can understand the anger at the English deciding where to put a boarder in Ireland in the 20th century. I hate Hamas but have huge sympathy for the fact the Palestinians have been treated disgracefully by most of the western world.

Hamas, Hezbollah and their Iranian puppet masters are all thoroughly wicked. But as I don’t live in the region I can’t say with certainty that all those who support them are just as bad.

What is clear as day, though, is that the useful idiots in this country who are part of or who support the Palestine Solidarity Campaign are all either bad or very, very foolish or both. The revelation of an immediate march applied for on 7 Oct 2023 tells you everything you need to know about these ghouls.

It does, they enable Hamas to continue.

@onceuponatimelived you didn't answer and you might want to check the legal position in the U.K. on supporting terrorists

Agree.

onceuponatimelived Norman Finkelstein is a Jew hating Jew. The worst kind.

No he isn’t, Finklestein speaks with facts, statistics and evidence based arguments with a doctorate in Palestinian studies, that statement is your own skewed view on him rooted in prejudice, racism and immorality that has concluded that. Please do some research and soul searching.

Can someone explain to me why Hamas hands over 3 or 4 hostages, and in return they get over a hundred Palestinians?

Because Israel was desperate, simple as that. It's heartbreaking.

Any Jewish person who opposes Zionism is described as a self hating Jew to discredit them. Listen to Noam Chomsky on this phenomenon.

They arent going to stop fighting for their country.

They are fighting because they hate Jewish people more than they love their fellow countrymen

HungerGames · 09/02/2025 13:42

LetThereBeLove · 09/02/2025 12:42

I'd like to know, too.

Perhaps because Israel is holding many multiples of Palestinians compared to Hamas?

Finally, an educated individual using references to help you all understand the real truth of the situation.

If Hamas are fighting for their country, why was it they spent money intended for schools and infrastructure on terror tunnels? With the money from Quatar Gaza could have been like Dubai.

@onceuponatimelived Hamas are proscribed terrorists in the U.K., supporting them online is a crime

Perhaps mnhq can clarify for those who support them

No, any Jew who hates Jews is described as a self-hating Jew. A Jew who opposes Zionism is just a Jew who opposes Zionism. That's an important distinction to make and it's not really up to non-Jews to lecture Jews on "the truth of the situation".

Peacecanbe · 09/02/2025 13:51

I often think this about the actions of Israel. Though it’s less about just how it looks and more about the consequences.

And there we have it. In a nutshell.

That's why. That's why the posturing.

Unbelievable you think Hamas are fighting for their country. They've destroyed their country. They've martyred their children.

They are not fighting for their country. They're fighting cos they hate Jews. And you still can't see it. Even after all this.

This.

Atangledweb · 09/02/2025 13:54

dairydebris · 09/02/2025 13:19

Liv I don't want to engage you. But I'm quoting you here to point out explicit support for Hamas. You're saying the quiet bit out loud.

You said-

Hamas are fighting for their country in the only way they know how.

Everybody can see this.

Open support for Hamas.

It's quite explicit. In plain sight. "The only way they know how". That's rape, torture, murder of people at festivals and Kibbutz and the kidnapping and hostage keeping of babies, children and adults. Many who will never come home since they ate now dead.

Apologists for these crimes of terrorists should hang their heads in shame.

LetThereBeLove · 09/02/2025 13:54

onceuponatimelived · 09/02/2025 13:39

You might want to check that yourself whilst you openly support an Israeli terrorist occupation.

This is an untrue statement unless you believe that Israel should be wiped out. Do you?

Yes I know. I'm talking about posters on here. Non-Jews tokenising Jews and using the Good Jew/Bad Jew trope to uphold their false narratives is still as unappealing as it was 15 months ago.

If this is the case Israel is fighting because they hate the Palestinians more than they love their fellow countrymen also, as they know Hamas will continue to attack their country and kill their people but they don't seem to care either

I also see you've failed to discuss the oppression by the Israelis on the Palestinian people for generations, it's obvious you have little to no understanding of the situation, unfortunately it's people like you only seeing it from their side that's going to keep this conflict going forever

I've often posted about Israeli oppression and war crimes commited by members of the IDF. I've expressed my disdain for the current Israeli administration. I've many times stated that I believe both groups have a legitimate claim on the land. I also believe I have more than a passing knowledge of the history of the conflict. I try to keep reading about it too, genuinely.

You, however, just had a post deleted for being in support of Hamas. I was so shocked I took a screenshot of it before it disappeared.

I don't believe I'm the one only seeing it from one side. Let our posts speak for themselves.

This will be the last time I ever engage with you. Toodle pip.

onceuponatimelived · 09/02/2025 12:53

They've martyred their children and destroyed their country? You are delusional. Do you even watch the news? Do you actually know whats been going on in history since 1948 to Palestinians in their own land? Your ignorance is blinding. Please read a history book and some geography while you're at it if you're going to have these kinds of debates.

Perhaps you are unaware of the statement that the Hamas leadership put out not long after October 7th saying how they gloried in the blood of the civilian martyrs which they needed to fortify their fighters?

Answer me this, if October 7th never happened, how many of those who died as a result of the ensuring conflict would be alive?

How many of the buildings and homes destroyed would be still be standing?

Hamas knew what would happen as result of October 7th, and as they said themselves, they glory in it. They are doing in right in front of you on those stages.

BakedAlaska12 · 09/02/2025 10:54

unfortunately as has been shown by Hamas a lot of the “ordinary citizens” do support Hamas and the barbaric treatment of Israelis. On another thread there was a particularly disturbing picture of two Gazan girls dressed up and clapping at the parade of the poor hostages on release.

The more barbaric Hamas are the Norse support they seem to gain. It’s very worrying and disturbing.

I think both populaces have been well and truly indoctrinated by their supposed leaders. I presume people have also seen the news footage of Israeli citizens chanting and cheering as bombs rain down on Gaza?

It seems inhuman when you observe it from the outside, but I think it's hubristic of any of us to think that we wouldn't also be susceptible to radicalisation if we were brought up in a society that was taught to hate and fear its closest neighbours, without being given any of the wider context or the view from the other side. This applies to both Israel and Palestine. Hamas are monstrous; the ruling Israeli regime is also monstrous, but is much, much more powerful. Anybody in the West who claims not to get this is being very disingenuous.
