Are Hamas as thick as they are evil?!

Newbutoldfather · 09/02/2025 08:25

After seeing masked, uniformed well-fed Hamas soldiers humiliating emaciated hostages, does anyone even feel a shred of sympathy for them?

Can’t they even understand how bad this looks and what the consequences will be both for themselves and, more importantly, for the rest of the Palestinians?

It would be hard for them to be as thick as they are evil, because they are extremely evil, but I think they might have achieved it…

unfortunately as has been shown by Hamas a lot of the “ordinary citizens” do support Hamas and the barbaric treatment of Israelis. On another thread there was a particularly disturbing picture of two Gazan girls dressed up and clapping at the parade of the poor hostages on release.

The more barbaric Hamas are the Norse support they seem to gain. It’s very worrying and disturbing.

This. And it’s why their neighbours wouldn’t help them. And it wasn’t just those living in The Gaza, we all saw the posters of hostages being ripped down, with endless demonstrations supporting the absolute savagery of 8/10, all over the western world. I’ve absolutely no sympathy for them.

They've martyred their children and destroyed their country? You are delusional. Do you even watch the news? Do you actually know whats been going on in history since 1948 to Palestinians in their own land? Your ignorance is blinding. Please read a history book and some geography while you're at it if you're going to have these kinds of debates.

They've martyred their children. Hamas admit this themselves. They've called their own people proud martyrs, necessary sacrifices.

The war they started with their invasion of 7 October has destroyed Gaza. It is in ruins.

Please do tell me where I'm delusional here.

Also, I'm happy to get into a historical debate with you if you wish, but you'll need to refer me directly to where I am incorrect. Just saying I'm delusional isn't going to be enough.

Everyone is delusional and clueless but you and those who agree with you right? 🙄 They’ve been offered peace deal after peace deal and they turn them down every time. They want Jews out of the region and will accept nothing until they have achieved that.

With respect, do you feel the same way about the IRA or the UVF / UDA? Terrorism is terrorism. Just because somebody says they are fighting for freedom doesn't make it so. Inevitably they are always fighting for power, and their "own people" have no more value to them that those of the "opposing side".

Nelson Mandela was once thought of as a terrorist. I don’t condone what the IRA did but can understand the anger at the English deciding where to put a boarder in Ireland in the 20th century. I hate Hamas but have huge sympathy for the fact the Palestinians have been treated disgracefully by most of the western world.

EasternStandard · 09/02/2025 13:15

@onceuponatimelived do you support the actions of Hamas?

Your post suggests you do, but just to confirm

Liv I don't want to engage you. But I'm quoting you here to point out explicit support for Hamas. You're saying the quiet bit out loud.

You said-

Hamas are fighting for their country in the only way they know how.

Everybody can see this.

Open support for Hamas.

But Israel has also turned down peace deals, in 2015 Netanyahu rejected the idea of there ever being a Palestinian state?

Hamas are fecking evil eegits who handed Gaza to Israel & the Americans with a bow on top. How the hell did they not realise that Israel wouldn't flatten Gaza to rescue the hostages. Of course they knew & they didn't give a shit about the residents or the consequences of their actions.

It really wouldn't surprise me if Trump turned around & granted amnesty to Hamas in return for Gaza. I really think this is the next step so he can build his version of Gaza club Med.

Have you seen the footage from 10/7? The actual official, documented footage shown to journalists and the like. I have seen some, not all of it. I couldn’t manage it. I was frightened I might never be able to remove those images from my head. How do you explain this? An aberration on the part of a gentle, desperate, historically oppressed people? How do you explain their neighbours leaving them to it? What should Israel have done afterwards, given the hostage situation? How do you explain the repeated refusals of peace deals even when they are hugely advantageous to the Palestinian people? Do you believe Israelis should just leave the region en masse and hand the vastly improved and hugely increased in value land and infrastructure straight to the Palestinian people? So many questions I know and I don’t expect a real answer to any of them,

Do you support the actions of Israeli Govt Policy that facilitates the murder and brutalisation of Palestinian children and newborn babies?

As I said, research Jewish scholar Dr. Norman Finklestein on YouTube who will answer all of your questions that you just asked.

I think Hamas are fanatics and that they are probably mentally ill, in that they are detached from reality as we know it. They do believe in an afterlife and so I assume they don't regard death for themselves. or others, as a tragedy. Possibly they think it's better than this life. As such, it is difficult to understand their mindset unless you view it as well out of the bounds of normal. I do think Palestinians have suffered terribly from occupation, and you will find a range of responses to it amongst the general population.

I also see you've failed to discuss the oppression by the Israelis on the Palestinian people for generations, it's obvious you have little to no understanding of the situation, unfortunately it's people like you only seeing it from their side that's going to keep this conflict going forever

Yep but that's all OK because Israel is a "democratic" country, its just insane

Never felt Hamas were good, deeply sorry for the citizens who will pay the price for their actions :(

Good? They are a terrorist organisation, why would you ever feel that they were good? And is that the Israeli citizens you're referring to?

EasternStandard · 09/02/2025 13:37

@onceuponatimelived you didn't answer and you might want to check the legal position in the U.K. on supporting terrorists

LetThereBeLove · 09/02/2025 13:37

I think they are evil and the western idiots who ‘understand’ why Hamas committed Oct 7th and solely blame Israel for the aftermath of October 7th are thick.

These people excuse Hamas for October 7th so clearly aren’t going to bothered by the forced staging of the hostage handover. These Western supporters of Hamas have lost their humanity. If you have dehumanized another group of people in the way they have dehumanized Israeli Jews, then you have lost something of your humanity.

You might want to check that yourself whilst you openly support an Israeli terrorist occupation.

One of the hostages on capture was paraded through the streets of Gaza to jeering and applause. There was appetite for it.
