Why anyone would believe anything said by brutal savages capable of dragging the naked dead body of a young woman through the streets of Gaza tied to the back of a motorbike, or spitting on and hitting the naked dead body of a young woman being held by her hair while being paraded through the streets of Gaza on the back of a pick up truck shouting ‘God is Great’ (and filming it while cheering), is rather discombobulating to me I must say.

Or savages who take dead bodies of those they’ve murdered hostage. I mean I never heard of that ever happening until this conflict and somehow find that disturbing on a deeper level than even the other atrocities they’ve committed which is saying something. They did this even prior to Oct 7th.

Just putting this here, Palestinians seem to have a long history going back to 1968 of hunger strikes so I wonder if this may be related to the reported state of some the Palestinian detainees suspected of terrorism and convicted criminals released by Israel?

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/palestinians-west-bank-israeli-hamas-shin-bet-b1973427.html

The Hamas son guy has also spoken about Hamas torturing and murdering Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israel while in Israeli prisons and then blaming it on Israel. That’s was his motivation for working with Israel.

I mean I don’t think Israel comes out of this conflict smelling of roses but has any of this mass scale torture, starvation, rape and murder of prisoners, which has reportedly been on going on for MANY years EVER been independently verified by unbiased investigation or witnessed first hand? Obviously there have been cases where there have been convictions for abuse of prisoners so why would Israel convict some but let it carry on on a mass scale? Doesn’t make sense.

Also what age are children being ‘illegally detained’
because most people seeing that word would imagine children of 12 and under not 16,17,18, 19 year olds quite old enough to commit crimes knowing the consequences?

Israel aren’t ‘detaining’ babies and toddlers like Kfir and Ariel are they?

Why are Palestinian parents teaching their kids to throw stones and try to stab the IDF if they know prison conditions are so terrible and they are at risk of torture? There’s plenty of videos online of little kids being encouraged to throw stones. How do the IDF know there might not be an IED?

Is there any actual footage of the IDF deliberately shooting Palestinian children in the head btw and I don’t mean grainy footage without clearly showing who was firing. Do we really think Hamas or the PIJ wouldn’t stoop to that after what they did to children on Oct 7th and how they admitted they wanted the blood of Palestinians to inflame the ‘resistance’?

The propaganda to project onto Israel what has happened TO them is utterly disgusting. I mean FFS comparing the war Palestinians started to the Holocaust as I’ve seen on this site is the lowest thing I’ve ever seen.

Quite why MN gives these despicable thinly disguised anti semitic terrorist supporters a voice I don’t know.

None of them, on a UK site called Mumsnet, gave a shit about the UK mum and her teenage girls barbarically murdered on Oct 7th or discussed putting pressure on the UK government to call for Hamas to surrender and release their father so he didn’t spend 16 months being held hostage not knowing they were dead all along and on his release being told in front of a cheering crowd that his brother had been murdered by the very people who’d held him hostage in front of him. I can’t imagine his pain right now. It must be unbearable!

Plenty of posts about pressuring the government to support a ceasefire so Hamas could rearm though and carry on though.

Even a complete idiot would have figured out by now that this war was started to create a massive global SM campaign to promote hatred of Israel and revive global antisemitism.

Shame on all of you who have fallen for it.

The highly respected British surgeon Nizam manifested testified in front of a committee in parliament of IDF controlled drones targeting children. He described seeing this again and again and he had no doubt it was intentional.
I’m also posting some links to the horrific mistreatment of Palestinians in Israeli jails which you seem to imply is self inflected ( you seem to think every single one is on a hunger strike ) more than 60 Palestinian in Israeli custody have died just in the past year but there’s no outcry from you about that
Many of those arrested are medical doctors and 3 doctors have been killed in Israeli detention for the crime of not leaving there patients ( and evidence of torture and rape )
I’ve shared some links

Are you one of the people on here trying to change the meaning of the word genocide to suit your agenda.....

No because I’ve not come on here saying it can mean different things depending on when it’s used !

I read last night that Or Levy also didn't know his wife was dead.

Eli Sharabi's guards had told him throughout his 491 days of captivity that his wife and daughters were waiting for him in Israel and that he'd be reunited with them when he got home. I'm finding it hard to fathom such monstrous cruelty.

The release of five Thai hostages last week was carried out with little fanfare and no onstage propaganda as Hamas considered them to be "low value" hostages. They've saved their Nazi style public humiliation ceremonies solely for their Jewish victims.

Hamas have only one agenda and that is to sow as much oppression, hatred, suffering and destruction as possible, whilst enriching themselves. They represent nothing other than themselves and a very bleak future for Gaza and the Palestinians as a whole if they can't be removed from power.

No he did not say he SAW drones targeting children. He was repeating what he was TOLD.

Do you not think Palestinians (and I say Palestinians as Hamas are not the only terrorist group in Gaza and they all have their own supporters) have a vested interest in accusing Israel of anything they can that they know their global intellectually challenged supporters and anti semites will lap up? There are reports going back many years of them killing each other, not a stretch that they would kill their own, including children, to frenzy the propaganda machine.

I remember a Palestinian, who now lives in Israel and converted to Judaism, recounted one of his earliest memories of going to the market with his mother as a young child and seeing the head of a woman rolling down the street. She had been dragged out of her home and executed in the street due to suspicion of collaboration with the Jews. It was a normal occurrence he said.

If you can believe a doctor repeating what he’s been told, I can believe someone who saw something with his own eyes.

Why do you think the Israelis saved Sinwar’s life if they treat prisoners so badly?

The ‘evidence’ in the links you posted are ‘testimonies’ of radicalised people living under an extremist terrorist government, who were/may have been involved in terrorism themselves, against their sworn enemy who they make no bones about wanting to annihilate.

You talk about critical race theory, how about you do some critical thinking?

@statsfun absolutely.

I apologise as my posts did derail the thread which should only be recognizing the absolute horror that the HOSTAGES have gone through and will continue to go through for the rest of their lives but I have occasionally lurked on this board and have been horrified by some of the stuff posted from posters with a clear agenda which certainly isn’t borne out of unbiased verified facts, evidence or even common sense!

Anyone who has the slightest bit of support for people who film themselves cheering at and attacking the naked, violated, dead body of a young woman, take babies and young children hostage with their terrified mother, or keep civilian hostages prisoner in their homes, or needs to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror

Palestinians who want peace, and Palestinian children who are entitled to grow up in peace, should not be forced to live among them in that kind of horror either.

stomachamelon · 09/02/2025 18:18

@Branleuse have you read any of the individual stories and understand why they are being seen?
Do you know how many prisoners Israel treats? Sinwar wouldn't have been alive to commit the atrocities he did if Israel hadn't treated him in hospital.

I don't think it was your posts that derailed the thread. I do think there needs to be more discussion about de-radicalisation though. It's a massive problem and I can't see how there will ever be peace without a concerted effort from unbiased secular influence. Children need to have more to aim for than martyrdom. And Israelis will never be safe if that is the mindset of their neighbour.

According to the link from the poster is because of the tortures they’ve gone through whilst detained

——

from the link
Every time prisoners are released, we find the prisoners’ bodies reflecting the level of crimes committed against them, including torture that is unprecedented in its level after October 7, starvation crimes, systematic medical crimes, and the infection of a number of them with scabies, in addition to the severe beatings that the prisoners were subjected to before their release, which continued for days according to many of their testimonies, and which in some cases led to rib fractures,” the organisation said in a statement last week.
One of the released Palestinians said, “For the past 15 months, we were exposed to the most brutal torture … the Israelis treated us in inhumane ways. They treated animals better than us.”

——
whilst they might treat some , they also deny access to treatment to others and as a result they end up dying. (One of them last month )

That’s alright if You believe every detainee has been treated rightly and been given access to medical care it’s fine , that’s your choice / right to believe that.

stomachamelon · 09/02/2025 20:37

@EasterIssland do you think I would comment if I hadn't read the link and read around it? It's from Al Jazeera as well so hardly unbiased.

There has Also been photos released of someone with cancer and someone named who has never actually released. Also a lady referred for ongoing treatment after receiving treatment for burns to her hands (Israel gave her skin grafts etc) after she set off a bomb in her hands.

So I will reserve judgement.

Any reason why you’re demanding an opinion from me when you’ve not even posted one yourself?

wholettheturnipsburn · 09/02/2025 21:32

Sorry @EasterIssland I wasn't demanding anything, I was just asking

It's just you were posting about released prisoners with such concern, it struck me that you hadn't shown the same concern about the subject of this thread

I've certainly expressed my view about the poor hostages

It's sick. That they were taken in the first place, that they have undergone such horrors over the last 15 months and the barbaric, savage way they were treated at release.

It breaks my heart.

I was replying to another poster to a comment they had done, unless this isn’t allowed.

I’ve the same sympathy for innocent Palestinians as for Israelis that have been hostages / detained

when they were innocent , specially for those that have been treated badly like the 3 men from this thread. I hope in a future there are no more 7-oct and that Palestinians and Israelis can live peacefully side by side without the extremism government they both have nowadays.

Russia, having seen the condition of these three poor men, have now demanded the release of dual citizen Sasha Troponov.
Hamas have said they need more time because he's currently not in good enough condition.

Did Hamas actually say that though? If they did they are basically admitting that he's been mistreated (in addition to actually kidnapping him in the first place) and that's not something I've seen them admit before. They usually paint that the hostages are cared for like princes.
