Boycotting Israeli products/services

I’m trying my best to support the boycott. For those doing the same - what products/services are you using instead?

The hardest one for me has been giving up on going to Disney Paris next year. I had planned it as a joint birthday present, kids will be the perfect age. But I can’t stand in Disney with my kids knowing they support a regime killing kids.

Any good alternatives to Disney, or any other brand on the list?

Thank you for this, I will read it.

As a pp asked, are you boycotting China because what they are doing to the Uyghurs truly is genocidal.

And the Tibetans too. Taking away Tibetan children from their parents and brainwashing them.

As per my last comment, this is heresay, do you have a more credible source.

Again, not goading posters, trying to educate myself

It's a closed state run by terrorists, all we have is hearsay from insiders.

The statistics of Palestinian casualties from the BBC are pure hearsay, provided by Hamas-run hospitals organisations. Do you accept those numbers?

That said, the report I copied above was actually produced by two independent organisations.

Murica · 18/06/2024 21:32

Are you people new to this? These things have been common knowledge for months.

"The report is a joint publication by United Nations Watch, an independent non-governmental human rights organization, and the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se), an international research and policy institute that analyzes school curricula through UNESCO-defined standards of peace and tolerance."

It didn't start on the 7th though- it started back in 1948. If Palestine wasn't invaded by the illegal settlers, we wouldn't be here today.

And if Hamas weren’t pledged to murder all Jews (not just all Israelis) and repeat the actions of 7th October as often as they could, maybe things would be different. But they have pledged that.
Anyway, you haven’t answered the question. It is indisputable that the Palestinian civilians would not be suffering like this if Hamas, the Palestinian government, had returned the people they abducted 9 months ago and brought the kidnappers, rapists and murderers to justice. So have you ever called for the abducted hostages to be returned and the kidnappers, rapists and murderers to be brought to justice, or not? If not and you want the war to stop, why not?

Noonecares245 · 18/06/2024 21:35

So I read this - this is an MP, who has made these allegations witbout providing any evidence himself, just like you have. No data/no reference to reports nothing...just personal opinion of someone no one knows about.

This is what is known as a primary source. He went to the region and is reporting back on what he saw.

@HelpAGirlOut1234 Did you see what those c**s Hamas did?? Was Israel supposed to shrug it off. Telling someone who disagrees with you to disappear says a lot about you and your anti semitic bollocks.

I don't think many people would expect a country to just shrug off a major terrorist attack.

There might, however, have been options for responses that didn't result in... the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent people including children; the use of both widespread bombing campaigns and targeted drone attacks that maximised civilian casualties; the selective targeting of children and vulnerable people by snipers; the murders of healthcare professionals in hospitals; the destruction of infrastructure essential for the provision of life-saving healthcare and the distribution of aid; forced mass displacement; the bombing of safe zones; the withholding of aid; the killing of aid workers; the prevention of the evacuation of children and civilians from a warzone; the open glorification of acts which may constitute war crimes and meet the legal threshold for genocide; calls for the eradication of Palestinians and the re-establishment of Israel settlements in Gaza; actively supported and facilitated attacks in the West Bank by extremist 'settlers' backed by the IDF; etc, etc.

Thank you for this, it is sad to watch.

As I mentioned upthread, it is much easier to indoctrinate and recruit people for terrorist organisations from populations which have been persecuted by their occupier/oppressor. But it should absolutely not be taught and encouraged in schools, very sad to see.

Sunshineonasameyday · 18/06/2024 21:39

IMPACT-se is an NGO that is really working on violence-free education, it’s not about Jews or Christians or Palestinians or Muslims, it’s about a violence free education, wherever it happens and wherever we can [make it happen]. We should have respect for the work of this NGO, I really respect it”.

What do you think Hamas-run schools in Gaza are teaching their children?

Scirocco · 18/06/2024 21:46

As was mentioned on another thread, check who's lobbying and paying for your politicians before you vote for them or accept their opinions without first considering the influences upon them.

The concerns about inappropriate educational materials and exposure of children in both Israel and Palestine to extremist and pro-violence influences are well-documented, but not always in a balanced way. The removal of hate from schools is important and needs to happen in both Israel and Palestine, as well as in other countries around the world which employ similar approaches.

fluffy90 · 18/06/2024 21:47

It's really not a secret or a conspiracy that Palestinian schools glorify violence. You can look at the Facebook pages of school children and teenagers, such as Ahed Tamimi, and their relatives, people who have been hailed as freedom fighters by Western media, to see the hideous diagrams, images and dogma they are promoting.

Just like the illegal settlers in Indian Kashmir?

Have you seen the same teachings but against Palestinians in Israeli schools?

I'll look myself for particulars of the curriculum, but if you have references to hand I would read them.

Well there are currently no schools functioning in Gaza and thousands of children have been killed so it is pretty insensitive to be repeating this point

HelpAGirlOut1234 · 18/06/2024 22:01

@fluffy90 Or this?

Sunshineonasameyday · 18/06/2024 22:04

How do you (general you) propose the indoctrination of the Palestinian people in Gaza is managed?

Sunshineonasameyday · 18/06/2024 22:05

Propaganda is as important a weapon as guns.

Do you give equal credence to Israel's claims that Hamas are using schools, hospitals and kindergartens as weapons depots, rocket launch pads and to conceal tunnel networks, as you do to the casualty figures given by the Hamas-run health industry?
Btw I'm not saying the casualty figures are wrong. Just that, if you believe Hamas, you certainly should believe Israel.
