It’s just beyond awful. The idf have dropped leaflets telling Palestinians to move. There is no where for them to go. This is beyond awful. More children will be blown apart, more families destroyed and all for what? Sick beyond what I ever imagined.

The idf have no plan apart from indiscriminate killing.

The people who really need to see it are those still defending the actions of Israel. And I can show them thousands more images if they think this is an unfortunate isolated incident. This is what idf WANT to do. It is the purpose of the bombs.

45 American doctors testified that the IDF shoots for the hell of it.

Thanks for these updates @Finallyloggedin

We may never really know @SpicyKitty When one party has most of the power and seeks to control the flow of information, then we can’t rely on their narrative. It isn’t likely that there are this many people in Gaza that would meet the actual definition of a terrorist. Terrorists attacks are incredibly rare, and so are actual terrorists.

40000 was the generally accepted upper limit back in October 2023 - lower limit was more like 25000

How many do you think are still alive and uninjured nearly 10 months later?

PeasfullPerson · 27/07/2024 12:48

So the aim is to kill 40,000 Hamas soldiers?

How likely is it that all 40,000 of these people are actually planning to carry out a terrorist attack? Given that in Israel you are more likely to die in a road accident.

Will Palestine then not be happy until they have in retaliation killed every member of the IDF who participated in the obliteration of Gaza and killing of innocent victims?

This doesn’t sound like a road map for peace. I think killing an unnecessary high number of people is a recipe for disaster and raises the risk of future conflict.

Scirocco · 27/07/2024 12:57

I'm going to estimate that 0% of the babies and toddlers killed, maimed and traumatised for life have been terrorists.

ScrollingLeaves · 27/07/2024 12:58

I think I saw an IDF representative recently say they had killed 60%.

It seemed far too few to be moral given the number of civilians killed to reach that stage, the time it has taken, and the destruction of a society it has entailed.

An IDF soldier speaking to +972
In general, A. continued, “the spirit in the operations room was ‘Shoot first, ask questions later.’ That was the consensus … No one will shed a tear if we flatten a house when there was no need, or if we shoot someone who we didn’t have to.”

“I think I saw an IDF representative recently say they had killed 60%”

I meant 60% of the upper estimate of 40,000 (?) terrorist fighters the IDF reckoned there were at the start of the war.

ScrollingLeaves · 27/07/2024 13:12

Scirocco · 27/07/2024 12:57

I'm going to estimate that 0% of the babies and toddlers killed, maimed and traumatised for life have been terrorists.

Netanyahu had the hypocrisy to say in his speech to congress that Hamas had burned babies alive Oct 7.

That statement revives the idea, that turned out not to be true, that on Oct 7 Hamas ‘burned babies alive in ovens” and uses this as hasbara.

Netanyahu omitted to mention to Congress the great number of Palestinian babies who have been burned alive, or are covered in burns, at the hands of Israel’s bombing.

PeasfullPerson · 27/07/2024 13:15

And it’s all justified by the idea that Hamas poses an existential threat to Israel, which is a gross exaggeration of reality.

Based on the current situation, it appears to be the other way around.

It’s too easy for Israel to turn around and say that whoever they killed was a terrorist, apart from as mentioned above, toddlers and babies.

Let’s face it, the Israeli government and IDF have lost all credibility. An appearance in US Congress isn’t enough to wash away their crimes.

The babies “burned alive in ovens” on Oct 7 was found not to be true some time ago.

That fact that Netanyahu referred to the “babies burned alive” report two days ago when giving his speech to Congress , even though it had been found not to be true, can only have been hasbara on his part, especially given the numbers of killed Palestinian babies at his hands.

Atrocities committed by the Palestinians have not been dismissed as hasbara.

ScrollingLeaves · 27/07/2024 17:00

Re: Why I am disputing Netanyahu’s right to bring up “burned babies” during his speech to Congress.

This is an excerpt mentioning the babies from an exhaustive, investigative Haaretz article April 18 2024 which can be found if you put the following headline into archive ph.
15 Witnesses, Three Confessions, a Pattern of Naked Dead Bodies. All the Evidence of Hamas Rape on October 7

Otmazgin is the person responsible today for speaking on behalf of the organization about members' testimony and reports of evidence of sex crimes in the Hamas attack. He undertook the task after cases were discovered in which ZAKA personnel (as well as rescue forces and IDF officers) spread false rumors. Haaretz reported in December that Yossi Landau, from ZAKA, disseminated two horror stories that never happened – one about 20 bound and burned bodies of children that were supposedly found on a kibbutz, and the other about the body of a pregnant woman he found whose belly had been slit open.

The story of the pregnant woman, which included the distribution of a false video that had been shot at a different time and a different place, was echoed afterward by Israeli spokespersons.

Cochav Elkayam-Levy, for example, who worked intensively to raise awareness of the subject internationally and is being awarded the Israel Prize this year in the field of "social solidarity" (arevut hadadit, in Hebrew), shared the story in interviews and international forums. Pro-Palestinian media, who pounce on every inaccurate report relating to the Hamas sex crimes, went so far as to accuse her of "fraud." A response on behalf of Elkayam-Levy stated, "The case was reported in the name of female experts on the subject in Israel, and we were all relieved to find out that it didn't happen. The case exposed the difficulty of giving a voice to victims in times of war."

This is an excerpt from the December article about the “babies”. The full article can be found by entering this headline into archive ph.
Hamas Committed Documented Atrocities. But a Few False Stories Feed the Deniers

As for Col. Vach’s remarks on the bodies of eight burned babies, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said he “described difficult sights that he saw during his various missions evacuating bodies at the start of the war. The review was conducted in English, and the officer used the word 'babies' to describe a number of children’s bodies that were found. The error was made in good faith and does not mitigate the severity of the atrocities committed."

Atrocities were committed by Hamas. Hamas raped. Hamas slaughtered. Hamas killed children.

But Netanyahu deliberately mislead Congress about babies.

How do you define a terrorist? Is it just the people who are violent, or is it anyone who doesn’t want want to live under an illegal occupation?

Also how is Israel allowed to have an army, which commits war crimes constantly, but Palestinians aren’t allowed to have any army? So they literally have no legitimate defence against the idf.

To clarify, I do not support Hamas and condemn the terrible atrocities that took place on October 7th.

other posters have already addressed many of the egregious claims you make here but one more to point out - it was the Hannibal directive that led the idf to shell Israeli houses and them being burnt down. This has now been widely reported.

Thank you, she is a powerful speaker and made a clear case that we need to look at what is happening now to Palestinians, which is genocide according to the highest court, and Israel should stop it. Rather than go along with Israel, who are projecting that they might all be killed by Hamas in the future if they don’t carry on killing and wounding thousands and thousands of Palestinians.

The Israeli(?) man was insightful too, imo
about how the Israeli war in Gaza is being carried out, saying that the IDF shooting three naked men holding a white flag [Hamas hostages], shows how indiscriminately the IDF are in their attacks on Palestinians. But also bringing up understanding of how Israelis have been affected by what happened to them at the hands of Hamas Oct 7, which is right too.

This killing cannot just go on and on though, as she says.

One thing that seems noticeable from these reports is that for every bombed house, some inside are killed, others are wounded.

It seems noticeable that if the IDF bomb a house because they think there is a terrorist inside it, then judging from these reports, the terrorist might just get wounded while people who are not a terrorist threat get killed.

When they say they bomb a house to kill a terrorist they know is inside it, maybe that isn’t exactly true. Maybe it is more random.
