Another day, another massacre.
@Limesodaagain i understand what you are saying and I am also against Netanyahu and Hamas, but realistically it is the Israeli army who are currently inflicting unspeakable crimes against humanity every second of every day. Whatever hamas may or may not want to do, they don’t have any power to do it anyway. But the idf has huge firepower and it is using it to massacre countless innocent civilians.
I read a really moving thread about how difficult it is for Jewish people to stand against what the Israeli government are doing because they may even be shunned by family and friends. So I do appreciate that the stakes are incredibly high, but the Palestinians really need all of us to stand against their genocide.
You can want the immediate return of the hostages and also want the immediate end of the genocide. Remember, whatever we think of Hamas (and I am also not a fan of their actions on October 7th in any way), the Times of Israel reported that they offered to return all the hostages on October 8th or 9th in return for no ground invasion of Gaza, and the Israeli government refused. They also agreed to the last ceasefire proposal which, again, Israel refused. So, if you want the hostages returned it really is the Israeli government you need to be protesting, since they are the ones holding all the cards.
