Where the hell are all the Palestinians meant to go now?
They were TOLD to go to Rafah, that Rafah was a safe place.
It’s just open extermination at this point.

The Guardian has reported it starting too.

No words.

This image is from the times showing Rafah right now
Looks like hell on earth

Doesn’t look very targeted.

ConnieCounter · 06/05/2024 22:21

There's 1.7million people in Rafah.

We're watching genocide again while the world stands by.

Its beyond terrible. I haven’t read this thread so apologies if it’s already been said but just saw that they are also protesting it in Tel Aviv.

@Parkingt111 that is a picture from 6th Nov 2023, they are flares.

There are pictures of tonight's munitions.

Thank you for that
I saw the image on the times of Israel
Also what a horrible person Hillel Fuld is to post that image with that caption 😱

I feel sick. Although I knew this would happen.
’Targeted attacks’ is bloody laughable. They bomb and shoot indiscriminately at men, women, children and even babies.

Israel have taken over the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing and three aid agencies have said they've blocked aid from getting through.

MushMonster · 07/05/2024 08:20

Here we go, yet again with blocking aid. Though I have not spotted that reported in main media yet.
Lots of protests in Israel itself putting pressure on the government to accept the ceasefire deals.
US still reiterating that the oppose the Rafah operations.
They have sent people to Qatar for negotiations. At least, that is ongoing.

There was an expert talking in Aljazeera yesterday and he was saying that Israel had being active on the ground just ahead of peace talks before, in previous conflicts.

More senseless killing that gains nothing and loses yet another chunk of morality.

Efacsen · 07/05/2024 08:39

Guardian reporting that Rafah crossing is closed - as is Kerem Salom

The 'evacuation' of 100k people from East Rafah is reportedly 'temporary' and the operation said to be 'precise'

The almost total destruction of al-Shifa was also a 'precise' operation so wonder what the temporary evacuees will return to

Parkingt111 · 07/05/2024 08:46

I saw a father try and console his child who has burns all over his body from last night's attack in Rafah and many more mourning over the dead.
It's sick, absolutely sick.

The humanitarian area where tents were put up ready? I'd move my family if I knew the IDF were targeting Hamas in rafah.

Would you leave your 10yo sons behind because the IDF view them as “men of fighting age”? I wouldn’t leave my hypothetical 20yo son behind. He’s my son.

It’s an impossible situation

also given the video evidence of women and children being targeted in camps mu husband wouldn’t leave me and our daughters . Like I said, impossible situation

Parkingt111 · 07/05/2024 08:59

From the EU Chief
"The Rafah offensive has started again, in spite [of] all the requests of the international community, the US, the European Union member states, everybody asking Netanyahu not to attack", Josep Borrell told journalists.
"I am afraid that this is going to cause again a lot of casualties, civilian casualties. Whatever they (Israel) say", he said, adding: "There are no safe zones in Gaza."

The 'humanitarian area' does not have the resources to support a massive influx of displaced civilians, many of whom have complex health needs.

It has some tents. Does it have a functioning hospital? Does it have sanitation? Does it have food and water? If the answer to those questions is no, then all it is, is a place for people to continue to suffer and die, just in a slightly less inconvenient place for other people.

Scirocco · 07/05/2024 09:01

There are no safe zones.

I know people who evacuated to a safe zone. It was then bombed.

Victim blaming if they get killed ? They should have moved even if they were weak , ill and have to leave the men of their families behind(including their children)

Nope, just answering the question posed of where are they to go

Yes, Hamas had done that and do that and the evidence was clear on Oct 7th

So when Hamas did it, it was bad, but when Israel does it, nobody should say anything?

There it is. Why don't they go to Egypt? Why do they want to stay in their ancestral land? How dare they!

TrudyProud · 07/05/2024 09:34

@DistinguishedSocialCommentator Egypt is another country. Why are Palestinians being made to leave their own country and land?

Just say you want Palestinians exiled from their country and be done with it
