Killing of 5 Foreign Aid Workers from the World Central Kitchen

I've just seen on social media graphic videos of 5 dead aid workers from Australia, Austrian and British. The WCK are the people responsible for the ships coming into Gaza at the Jetty to distribute food. This was the second ship that departed from Cyprus a few days ago. Once arriving at the jetty they had to distribute the food. They were targeted in an armoured vehicle in Deir el Balah by the IDF. Its now being pick up by the press.Very sad.

Just seen flotilla has been delayed to at least 26th. Is not the first time in their history that they’ve tried this. In 2010 they tried it and Israel killed 10 crew members

I hope it sails soon. These people want to attempt to deliver this aid, let them do it.

Maybe I've missed it but where will the flotilla land the aid and how will it be distributed to the people who need it - given that both are on-going unresolved difficulties?

I’m not 100% sure. I think they’d like to do the same as wkc did. They’re departing from turkey

Sounds very dangerous - the IDF were actually supporting/helping WCK with building the jetty/unloading the aid/taking it to the distribution warehouse - these people have to deal with the complete reverse situation if they even make it to Gaza

Does anyone know how long it will take the flotilla to reach Gaza once it sets sail?
It is extremely dangerous considering what happened to those in the last flotilla who set sail from Turkey

Their web doesn’t say how long or where will it arrive and how to provide the aid

Not having a plan to safely land and distribute the food aid seems a significant omission in terms of feeding hungry people

Or maybe they are planning to drop it overboard and hope the tide brings it in?

Or is this to show how difficult it is to get aid into Gaza [by sea] and how unhelpful/ obstructive the IDF are not to actually feed anyone?

Israel is trying to block them not to go ahead and getting ready to block them reaching Gaza.

@EasterIssland I just saw that. How incredibly sad, his 7 year old son was also killed when they were bombed in Rafah. The supposed safe zone that many Palestinians were forcibly displaced to.

Will the politicians around the world criticise Israel as much as they did a month ago? Or are they getting used to it

Another aid worker killed

WCK completely withdrew from Rafah yesterday - they were providing hot food and I'm sure will be greatly missed by the people who will now go hungry

another aid worker from wkc was killed yesterday. He was Palestinian so probably why there hasn’t been as much outrage as the previous Time
