I don't think there's any point issuing a trigger warning without naming the triggers. People find different things upsetting, and you will put people off looking at the thread who may not have found the subject matter triggering.

Firstly, this does not belong in AIBU.

Secondly, don't ask people not to look away from extremely upsetting information. If people don't want to be extremely upset when logging onto a benign chat site like Mumsnet, then they would be quite right to look away.

Please try and use the site appropriately.

My reason for posting in this way is that much of what is going on is not being reported adequately on the main news sites and newspapers. I was trying to bring attention to what is going on to a wider range of people.

Which I do understand in the sense that I really don’t want to upset people or make them think about horrid things which they were not expecting. But at the same time it is a truly dreadful situation which every citizen of the UK should know about, as Sunak is making statements such as “Britain is with Israel”.

If British people knew what was going on, I really don’t believe that the vast majority would be supportive.

There's plenty out there, I don't get these threads that post things that have been widely reported online and make it seem like they're the only ones seeing the truth as if everyone else are silly women who just consume mainstream media without question (which have reported many of these things anyway). The middle east section is entirely appropriate for those who want to discuss it.

Why do you think the 'vast majority' are supportive? Why do you think people such as yourself who have seen these reports are in the minority? That's not what I've been seeing and hearing.

@Spiderzed i don’t think the vast majority are supportive but I do think that the msm is often doing it’s best to minimise the way it reports what Israel are doing to the Gazans. What I meant was, if the actual reality was more widely known about, most people would be horrified.
