I recall UNRWA stating supplies had been stolen and then suddenly changing their tune. That, I strongly suspect, was coercion on the part of Hamas in Hamas' territory.

A short video of a released hostage saying that one of the female hostages was sexually assaulted and another was tortured because they thought she was a soldier.

Disgusting, but unfortunately utterly unsurprising. What's so distressing is that this is just going on and on for these girls. I can't imagine how it must feel not knowing when the endpoint is, or even if there is one for them. And their poor parents. They must be living in hell.

I'm fed up just now - the naked, blatant anti-Semitism all over social media feels overwhelming at present. The very worst of the bile and spite is of course aimed at Jewish women and girls.
I literally saw an American woman being abused by misogynists for being Jewish, nothing even to do with the conflict. Just out in the open.

And by extension this justifies the rape, torture and mutilation of Israeli women. I saw someone describe it as "creating a loophole for their antisemitism" which seems spot on.

What is really interesting and worrying about all this twaddle is that Russia and China will be absolutely delighted (and no doubt heavily involved) in all this anti-west propaganda and discourse that is turning a large group of civilians against their own governments and they seem largely helpless to deal with it.

Hamas must be rubbing their hands with glee. I read elsewhere that they knew they couldn't win a war militarily but they could manipulate Israeli need not to broadcast everything to their advantage. They win at propaganda.

Yes. They start off saying the point of the letter is to protect Muslim students against racism, which would be an absolutely valid letter to write. But then the letter isn't about that at all. It's just a demand to permit hate speech and create a hostile environment for Jewish students. It's really fucking dangerous.
