Conflict in the Middle East

Do lots of people support Hamas?

elprup · 03/12/2023 20:33

I just read this story and it is absolutely horrific

I saw ten Hamas terrorists beat and gang-rape an Israeli woman

https://mol.im/a/12820081

Is everyone on the pro-Palestine marches in London solely supporting the innocent civilians of Palestine (as I do too)? Or are there some people on these marches supporting the actions of Hamas as well?

I want to join the marches in support of innocent adults and kids in Gaza (and I would want to march for the same reasons on any pro Israel marches too), but I do not want to endorse Hamas in any shape or form. They are absolutely vile.

I am laughing at that too

However it is because Hamas was formed to make sure number three on you list happens. Therefore they would rather walk through the gates of hell (and they will) than again to Israel existing and not trying to dismantled it. The nearest they have ever got to saying they will leave Israel alone is to say they will stop hostilities for a period of time but they will eventually overcome Israel when the time is right. Not the exact wording but something along those lines.

Hey Truly and a very good evening to you.

I'm laughing too as your prophetic post earlier about my posts getting reported and deleted came true - all because I said Hamas should apologise to Israel. My stalkers were all over that one.😂

These people supporting Hamas within 48 hours of the pogrom

Most of us have probably seen this before but worth mentioning again for this thread I think.

These nasty fuckwits are literally celebrating Jews and others getting tortured, raped and murdered. This was before Israel started intense bombing etc

People 'celebrate' Hamas attack in London

A video has been shared on social media appearing to show people in London celebrating the attack on Israel by Hamas. Immigration minister Robert Jenrick wro...

And the Met just let it happen.

You obviously have no idea of the Muslim faith do you ?

I genuinely don't think a lot of posters do, although I don't have an in-depth knowledge of every religion, but equally don't comment on aspects of them if I don't know enough/fully understand.
I've seen a lot be misinterpreted, e.g. becoming a martyr being seen as a terrorist thing, when actually it's part of Islam that extremists have twisted to suit their own warped views.

@ohforheavenssakedearcomeonnow

I reported your post. Because you were bitching about another poster from another thread behind their back saying they laughed at your comment on another thread, then you claimed they supported Hamas on the back of this.

It had nothing to do with the rest of your post.

It's not nice to talk behind people's backs and it seems MN agree. Come on now. And yet there you go doing it again...

I noticed that too, and assumed the deletion was not for the post itself, but for calling someone an Hamas supporter with no proof or even reasonable suggestion of it, on a different thread where the poster possibly couldn't see what was being said about them.

greymonster · 04/12/2023 22:12

@ChickHenLittle exactly. It's just mean. If you're going to accuse someone of being a Hamas supporter (over not agreeing with you) and moan about their response at least have the courage to do it to their face, not do about it behind their back on another thread on a public forum.

I am non religious Jewish but have studied all three Abrahamic books. Therefore probably have more knowledge of the Quran than most non Muslim posters. However I don't use that in posts because it isn't very respectful to Muslim posters. Likewise I don't post about Judaism or Christianity so as not to offend religious users. I just think we all need to stay away from talking about religion in general no matter what our knowledge.

Unless it is a board or thread specifically about religion of course

I agree about the exstemists twisting religion to suit their narrative. Also I believe they use it to try and manipulate people of the same faith into supporting them

MindyMindz · 04/12/2023 22:18

I wish I never clicked on this thread. It's a good insight into how strange the world is and this conflict.

I think most people just want peace and for there to be a ceasefire. I've seen enough dead Palestinian babies now. I think most sane people can agree that Israel is just punishing the Palestinian people now.

ChickHenLittle · 04/12/2023 22:19

@greymonster I agree. Particular threads do seem to have become mainly posters talking about others and making insults. I've removed a few from my "I'm On" page as I just can't be bothered with it anymore.
The situation is getting more personal to me with recent developments and name calling and berating others just isn't helpful. I don't mind debate and differing opinions, but not name calling.

greymonster · 04/12/2023 22:20

@ohforheavenssakedearcomeonnow Yeah talking and making dangerous spurious claims behind posters backs on other threads is so funny isn't it 🙄

The reason is ok in some ways but odd to me. Behind their backs on a public forum is a little confusing too me. Anyway at least now you know why it was deleted. Next time shout You Support Hamas at the user. Sure that won't end up getting deleted too😁

I found it amusing that rather than the poster calling me out, I get reported behind my back rather than taking it up with me!

Agree but what has that got to do with this thread asking if people support Hamas?

greymonster · 04/12/2023 22:26

@ohforheavenssakedearcomeonnow I happened to think it was a really mean thing to do that warranted a report. Allowing such comments to remain means other posters will be emboldened to do the same. I see it as a form of bullying.

Yet here you are making yourself out to be the victim? Strange behaviour.

Yes you both have done it now 😂

However should probably stop derailing the thread and talk about the topic at some point

(Seriously some posters are like pot kettle black on here😁)

Look you both have gone behind someone else's back and not confronted them to their face now

Lets call it even because this will go on all night if not and it isn't very productive

Sadly this is correct. I live in north west London. The day after the attacks (so before any kind of retaliation by Israel) I passed a car flying a large Palestinian flag out of the back window. That person clearly was celebrating Hamas’s actions. We have to come to terms with the fact that a sizeable group of people in this country as well as worldwide are supportive of the actions of murderous antisemites. What we do about it, I don’t know.

How can it be correct when Israel started its retaliation at 6:45am (GMT) on October 7th?

ChickHenLittle · 04/12/2023 22:37

The jabs at other posters aren't all that amusing. It's just my view and everyone can post as they like according to talk guidelines, but there is so much name calling and making jabs at other posters on so many threads, I've stopped posting on a few as the original topics seem to be abandoned for it.
I'm honestly not trying to be nasty myself or single people out, but there is so much laughing at others these past few days.

@ohforheavenssakedearcomeonnow I think the poster you were talking about possibly didn't mention it to you as you posted about them here, and they don't seem to be on the thread so may not have seen. I think there have been a few replies to your post on the other thread, but they all move on so quickly I struggle to keep up, and it's all moved on by the time I check back in.

Trulywonderful · 04/12/2023 22:39

Can't see why people don't support them they seem like such heroic freedom fighters and just want peace with their Jewish neighbours

Wow

That is a clever IT trick / tip

Never occurred to me such a thing was possible to do. I just normally go on the hundreds of posts by some users that barely mention anything negative about Hamas or try to change the conversation if something negative is discussed (We seem to have a live one of those on this thread currently)

It is simpler to the antisemitism in working out what and who you are dealing with. It isn't always what they say but more what they don't say

I’ve condemned Hamas so many times, I thought it was a given. Your method of deciding who is a terrorist sympathiser is very Orwelllian.
