@EllaDisenchanted I saw that video. Adorable.

I saw that just now aswell, was the lady in the background her teacher? She looked close to tears too with emotion

There was also a video of Aisha and Belal walking out of the Israeli hospital and everyone was clapping for them
I didn't save it and can't find it now
It was the first video of them I had seen

Yes I think it was her kindergarten teacher.

I also saw that video of Aisha and Belal. I think I saw pics of them reuniting with family as well ♥️. I’ll have a look @Parkingt111 there might not be a lot though, because pictures and videos are only being posted with hostage families consent, and some are sharing more than others (understandably).

The emotion on their faces gets me, particularly as two of their family are still being held 💔

Parkingt111 · 05/12/2023 21:12

My Arabic isn't great but I'd say the writing in the background loosely translates as 'Aisha and Bilal we are happy with your return' which I think was a very nice welcome back gesture for them
That's from the writing I can see

That’s lovely 😊 I should ask my son, he’s been learning Arabic!

A video (in Hebrew but with English subtitles) with short interviews with relatives of released hostages and medical professionals that have helped treat them. Thought it might be of interest to some on here. They talk a bit about the psychological torture etc

Sigal, the wife of one of the hostages, Dolev Yehud (35) gave birth not long after he was taken; he remains in captivity in Gaza with his sister Arbel Yehud (28) and her boyfriend Ariel Cunio.

Ariel Cunio's brother (David), wife (Sharon Cunio) , twins (Yuli and Emma), wife's sister and daughter (Danielle and Emilia Aloni) were also taken.
Sharon, Danielle, and the children were released. David remains hostage.

This extended family have been affected to a shocking degree.

@Humdingerydoo thank you for sharing

I have been following the updates of the meeting yesterday
I wanted to ask generally I know its very difficult but how much influence does the families have?

I personally think that they should have been given some credit for the last truce as they made it pretty clear to the government that they were not going to back down and I'm sure that played a part

Or if anyone else who knows more about Israeli politics can shed some light please

Parkingt111 · 06/12/2023 19:04

There was points mentioned online but all not verified

I saw this article though on the Times of Israel

EllaDisenchanted · 06/12/2023 19:50

No idea. It’s completely unclear to me. Israeli politics is not something I feel very qualified on. British politics was complicated enough 😬😬😬

You can feel her frustration....

stomachameleon · 06/12/2023 20:20

Normally I am a big fan of the red cross but during this conflict they have been ridiculously useless. Not just in dealing with the hostages but in much of their handling of Gazan civilians. I think the trouble with a lot of the charities and organisations working in Gaza is they have been too badly infiltrated over the years by Hamas. It is totally normal and right for them to employ local people, that happens all over the world. It provides employment and a local knowledge that is important. However it can backfire too

Pennina · 07/12/2023 22:19

Very brave, so please to hear all 3 of them escaped.

Meanwhile it's all gone quiet re the rest of the hostages. I fear the worst to be honest.

I’m regularly checking back to see about the other hostages

The poor man who has lost the arm, Noa from the back of the bike and Naama Levy are the ones i keep thinking of; and of course the Bibas family

stomachameleon · 07/12/2023 22:30

@ShirleyPhallus hersh...... his poor mum. I think about him everyday.

EasterIssland · 07/12/2023 23:36

Can’t remember who mentioned it a few days ago and we spoke about this and also whether it was this thread so apologies if it wasn’t here

idf is rejecting the idea of Hamas keeping the women in order to rape them and is calling USA irresponsible for that suggestion.

stomachameleon · 07/12/2023 23:45

@EasterIssland I don't disagree if they want to keep the hostages families sane. Worrying about welfare is one thing. Being told unequivocally by other nation that's what's happening is another.

They aren't daft.

Parkingt111 · 08/12/2023 09:07

Sky news have reported that one of the hostages Sa'ar Baruch has been killed during clashes in a rescue attempt

This hasn't been verified by the IDF yet

Parkingt111 · 08/12/2023 09:07

An Israeli soldier who was taken hostage has been killed in a clash between Hamas fighters and Israeli special forces, the militant group has claimed.
The armed wing of Hamas said the Israeli troops were conducting a rescue operation when its fighters confronted the unit.
It identified the captive soldier who was killed as 25-year-old Sa'ar Baruch and gave an identification number for him.
The Israel Defence Forces has not immediately commented on the claim.
