Ceasefire more Urgent than ever!!

Dr Ghassan Abu-Sittah, who spent the past six weeks treating the people of Gaza until it was no longer possible due to systematic bombing and dismantling of the hospitals and health care facilities.
The imminent disaster is that unless there is a full Ceasefire and massive humanitarian intervention, tens of thousands of Palestinians will die slow, agonising deaths.
They’ve been starved for over a month with only contaminated water, with serious wounds and injuries and no treatment. Half of them will be children.

I just refuse to believe anyone needs to see this happen.
This is absolutely what genocide looks like. Below, I share one of the articles in Israeli media that outlines this humanitarian catastrophe as part of the plan.

“As a result, Gaza will become a place where no human being can exist, and I say this as a means rather than an end. I say this because there is no other option for ensuring the security of the State of Israel. We are fighting an existential war”

Please don’t reply to this with comments that are full of twisted hate for this group of people. Think those of you who feel like that have enough to be satisfied with already

Just a note of support before the inevitable.

Decisiontimenow · 23/11/2023 23:36

@Valerianandfoxglovesoup
Thank you 💚💚💚 all the international agencies involved are still telling people to call for a Ceasefire. Palestinians in and out of Gaza are begging people to keep raising the alarm 🚨 but I worry many people are tired and because of the Israeli blackout of communication/ preventing journalists have free access to Gaza, so much of the very worst is being hidden from view! God help those poor little kids, they must be so terrified. And hungry. And exhausted. 💔💔💔

This is what a ceasefire with Hamas looks like. They're asking their friends outside of Gaza to attack Israel on their behalf.

Honestly, I'm all for a ceasefire in theory, but this is the reality of it all.

Ceasefire more Urgent than ever!!

This.

The situation is simply totally totally wrong; there's a glitch in humanity right now.

Ceasefire now!

Humdingerydoo · 24/11/2023 07:42

As I said, I'm all for a ceasefire. Well, I'm anti-war in the first place. Not sure why you couldn't also find time to add in a little sentence, just a few words would've sufficed, to say you disagree with Obaida's call for an escalation and that it's highly inappropriate. Why you couldn't recognise that this isn't all a one-sided problem.

Exactly this. Agree a ceasefire is desperately needed. Hamas have made their intent clear. Its impossible to imagine why they would just unilaterally agree to a ceasefire, but they broke the last one on 7 October so the power is in their hands. Hard to imagine why they care so little for their own people who are just cannon fodder for Iran's strategic aims.

PurpleChrayne · 24/11/2023 08:20

Hamas have broken the ceasefire within 15 minutes of it beginning.

So there we have it.

What do the apologists have to say for themselves now?

queenofarles · 24/11/2023 08:39

How was it broke ?
all I’m reading is 7 Palestinians are shot for trying to go back to north Gaza .

Parkingt111 · 24/11/2023 08:41

@PurpleChrayne where was that reported?

This was on the BBC

The four-day ceasefire began almost an hour ago, but we did hear, for around 15 minutes or so, continuing occasional explosions.
You can still see a hint on the skyline of the last air strikes in the 20 or 30 minutes leading up to the beginning of the temporary ceasefire.
The Israeli military really did continue their operation right until the ceasefire began, and slightly afterwards it appears - certainly from what we could hear and see over Gaza.
I can hear a drone in the sky above but we haven’t heard any arms fire, mortars, explosions, or any real sound of fighting for at least 20 mins or so. It looks like the ceasefire is firmly in place.

That's terrible
They can't go back to check on their homes, or families left behind or even to collect belongings

Not even to see where those killed who were left behind have been buried

queenofarles · 24/11/2023 08:52

I checked the ceasefire conditions
this is mentioned ; The group said that Israel agreed not to attack or arrest anyone in Gaza, and that people can move freely along Salah al-Din Road, the main street along which many Palestinians have fled northern Gaza, where Israel launched its ground invasion.
So why are they shooting Palestinians?

LittleMsTellTheTruth · 24/11/2023 09:03

So why are they shooting Palestinians?

Because all Israel ever does is lie, and murder.

It also says that no-one can return to northern gaza but doesn't say how that will be enforced

Just to note there's nothing about anyone being shot on al Jazeera which is usually the first to report this sort of thing

WatTyler · 24/11/2023 09:15

More Hamas propaganda.
The current humanitarian pause will last 4 days, and then the IDF will finish the job of ending the lives of every murdering, raping terrorist they can find.
As they should.

An "independent nonprofit supporting human rights" founded by a Palestinian from Gaza who has lobbied for Hamas and chaired by an anti-Semite. Not exactly unbiased. Mostly because of the whole representing Hamas thing.

Might be better to find the same stats from a more trustworthy source if you want people to take it seriously. I'm willing to believe it, just not from them.

eester · 24/11/2023 10:23

@Humdingerydoo the "official" stats are equally depressing.

Palestinians attempt to return home
Tareq Abu Azzoum
Reporting from Khan Younis, southern Gaza

In the early hours of this morning, Palestinians packed their items and headed out to reach the areas they had been evacuated from in the northern and central regions of Gaza.

The Israeli occupation forces have used different methods to crack down on those attempts to reach the north of the Gaza Strip by using and firing gas canisters
.
In some cases, they have opened fire, and several of Palestinians have been injured and taken back to hospitals in the south of the territory
.
Now, some people in the north of the Gaza Strip managed to get back to their houses, where they found their areas completely wiped out by occupation forces. But there is a sense of frustration for those who did not manage to go back to their houses, check on it or at least pull their loved ones from the rubble.

Edited my contribution not al Jazeeras

Fine, but wasn't it you who on another thread just a few minutes ago said to be aware of posting anything by the daily mail because they used to be pro-Hitler? I mean, I personally never read the DM and refuse to click on any of their links as even if I agreed with everything an article said, I still wouldn't trust it 😅 But then you go on to post something from an equally untrustworthy source.

Efacsen · 24/11/2023 10:32

A bit more

Citing witnesses, Palestinian news agency Wafa says seven people were wounded by Israeli forces as they attempted to go back to their homes in northern Gaza.

The Israeli army has been warning Gaza residents that movement from the south of the Gaza Strip to the north “will not be allowed in any way”, calling the northern areas “a combat zone”.

queenofarles · 24/11/2023 10:48
