Ceasefire more Urgent than ever!!

Dr Ghassan Abu-Sittah, who spent the past six weeks treating the people of Gaza until it was no longer possible due to systematic bombing and dismantling of the hospitals and health care facilities.
The imminent disaster is that unless there is a full Ceasefire and massive humanitarian intervention, tens of thousands of Palestinians will die slow, agonising deaths.
They’ve been starved for over a month with only contaminated water, with serious wounds and injuries and no treatment. Half of them will be children.

I just refuse to believe anyone needs to see this happen.
This is absolutely what genocide looks like. Below, I share one of the articles in Israeli media that outlines this humanitarian catastrophe as part of the plan.

“As a result, Gaza will become a place where no human being can exist, and I say this as a means rather than an end. I say this because there is no other option for ensuring the security of the State of Israel. We are fighting an existential war”

Please don’t reply to this with comments that are full of twisted hate for this group of people. Think those of you who feel like that have enough to be satisfied with already

Efacsen the X feed is updated faster than website ,
its now reported two people are dead,

Fine, but wasn't it you who on another thread just a few minutes ago said to be aware of posting anything by the daily mail because they used to be pro-Hitler? I mean, I personally never read the DM and refuse to click on any of their links as even if I agreed with everything an article said, I still wouldn't trust it 😅 But then you go on to post something from an equally untrustworthy source.

Sorry you find it untrustworthy. I can't find any specific criticism of the work of the organisation itself online, so I can't speak to if the organisation is "untrustworthy" or just being smeared like the United Nations, Amnesty, Human Rights watch and all the other organisations that have been.

Regardless, I highly suspect figures are way higher than are being reported and the actual figures after the conflict will be much higher than currently we are aware of. So sad.

queenofarles · 24/11/2023 10:55

No worries ,
we kind of knew it won’t be easy for both sides.

Efacsen · 24/11/2023 10:56

@queenofarles thanks

As I said, it's a group founded by a Hamas lobbyist from Gaza. I think it's fair to be a bit sceptical. Would you trust me without question if I posted stats from an Israeli organisation?

@SeeReality
All I said was Hamas are asking their friends in other areas to take over the fighting for them during the ceasefire, and you replied with a long post about how much people in Gaza are suffering, which had nothing to do with what I had said. If you want a ceasefire, which you clearly do, then why didn't you just reply to my post with "they shouldn't have said that. They're putting the ceasefire at risk" or something along those lines?

At no point have I implied or insinuated that you want an escalation of anything! I'm sorry you think that's what I was trying to do. I just don't understand why you ignored what I said and replied to me about something different.

I am not trying to start an argument. I am not saying Gazans aren't suffering terribly. I am saying it doesn't have much to do with Hamas asking their friends to start fighting against Israel during a ceasefire.

With respect I don’t think you realise that even wars have rules...

I share an Israeli article from the Israeli head of operations where he spells out their plan of creating a humanitarian catastrophe to the point of making Gaza uninhabitable-which to be clear means unliveable which means one can only die there, or have to flee as a refugee- that’s 2.3million human beings.
And then I share information from a British/ Palestinian doctor who’s just left Gaza and explains how this precise humanitarian catastrophe, having bombed all the hospitals and health facilities, is about to take tens of thousands of innocent lives in agonising ways (always remember, half children). And this is backed up by most respected international agencies.

…and I a get reply about how Hamas wants to get other terrorist groups involved 🙃…what might I ask is the connection here? (Aside from the fact they’re at war, how does that news surprise you?) Literally, what does that have to do with the above? For someone who claims to be “anti-war”, you seem pretty unmoved by evidence of genocide… which is unsettling...

Do people think the incredibly powerful -18,000 tons of bombs dropping -Israel has to break all pre-existing international legal norms and deliberately target innocent civilians to fight this terror group of (according to Israeli media) 30,000 militants? I’ll give you a clue… the answer is no. Look up “collective punishment” and “starvation” in international law. Also maybe look up epidemic spread in refugee camps in last century and consider your justification of that too.

For context the (also immoral and awful) USA war on Iraq has killed only 4,000 more children in 14 years than a six week war on Gaza.

Oh and for anyone still blocking out the deafening message from people advocating for ceasefire, it’s :
Israel and Hamas VS the Palestinian civilians.

The fact Hamas committed atrocities and poured fuel on the fire of the long ongoing conflict is not reason to further bomb and maim and traumatise, then starve and destroy by disease the Palestinian civilians (half kids!) who’ve already endured a 16year life in an open prison.
If not compassion, at least have the bare minimum of sense- this level of totally outrageous violence will only leave everyone less safe in the long run.
