Documenting Israeli army racism and torture

Desertrose2023 · 15/11/2023 04:25

this thread is to document the racist, criminal and dehumanizing behaviour by the most “moral army in the world” both during its most recent bombardment of Gaza and across decades of military occupation in the West Bank.

to start, here is a video of Israeli soldiers chanting they will turn Gazans into Kebabs.

One of the tragic things about this is that hostage children were safer with terrorists than Palestinian children were in supposedly protected humanitarian zones like hospitals and schools 💔

That is tragic. Apparently the number of dead is likely to be much higher than we think too, due to bodies trapped under rubble. 😔

SomeCatFromJapan · 27/11/2023 18:26

Hardly. They're only safe insofar they're worth something. The terrorists were perfectly comfortable torturing and killing other young children and babies not so long ago before snatching these ones.

And the tragedy about that is that Palestinian children's lives are totally worthless to Israel 💔. Not a single square meter in Gaza is safe for a child. They are simply collateral damage.
ETA: and the West Bank seems to be next.

treeees · 27/11/2023 18:42

Israeli govt also seems pretty content to shoot, imprison and torture young Palestinian children.

whatswrongwiththeworldddd · 27/11/2023 20:00

A former detainee recounts his experience being taken and imprisoned. He was tortured and beaten - these were focused on the wounds. He moved prisons and in that one he wasn't tortured thankfully and was given food, clothes and medicine.

I posted a similar video earlier today. It's beyond words. They've no shame or morals.

From 2000 to 2004, Hamas was responsible for killing nearly 400 Israelis and wounding more than 2,000 in 425 attacks, according to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2001 through May 2008, Hamas launched more than 3,000 Qassam rockets and 2,500 mortar attacks into Israel.

Brumbies · 27/11/2023 21:22

In a 2002 report, Human Rights Watch stated that Hamas leaders "should be held accountable" for "war crimes and crimes against humanity" committed by the al-Qassam Brigades.

Brumbies · 27/11/2023 21:24

During the 2023 Israel–Hamas war, Hamas infiltrated homes, shot civilians en masse, and took scores of Israeli civilians and soldiers as hostages into Gaza.[98][99] According to Human Rights Watch, the deliberate targeting of civilians, indiscriminate attacks, and taking of civilians as hostages amount to war crimes under international humanitarian law

Ok

So by posting on this thread, your implying that israels actions are justified because of what Hamas are doing??
Because these same human rights organisations have also condemned Israel for war crimes and abuse of Palestinians.
Unless of course youre trying to say that Israel is no better than Hamas. Then yes, I agree

Just to add to this

2) Civilian Fatalities

Most of those killed in the conflict have been civilians not involved in the fighting. Deliberately targeting civilians is strictly prohibited in international law in all circumstances: a rule which applies to all combatants whether from government armed forces or members of militia groups. Persons protected under occupation law are considered as civilians except for that period of time that they may be actively engaged in hostilities or are carrying arms.

Amongst Israelis, 69% of those killed were civilians and 31% members of the IDF. The number of Israeli civilians killed, from attacks by Palestinian armed groups or individuals, has declined steadily, peaking in 2002 at an average of 22 deaths per month, and dropping markedly to an average of one civilian per month in 2007. 6/

In contrast to Israeli figures, however, Palestinian civilian fatalities have remained high. Palestinian civilians, killed by Israeli security forces, peaked with an average of 35 deaths per month in 2002, and again in 2004. In 2007 they dropped slightly to an average of ten civilian deaths per month.

3) Children

A total of 971 children have been killed in Israeli-Palestinian conflict violence, representing 18% of the total number of conflict deaths. Children are protected, in a number of legal instruments, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child, against arbitrary loss of life, even in armed conflict.

Of the overall number of children killed, 88% were Palestinian and 12 % were Israeli. The trend of child deaths mirrors the total rate: the number of Israeli children killed has declined markedly while that of Palestinian children remains high.

Palestinian children make up 20% of the total Palestinian deaths while Israeli children represent 12% of total Israeli deaths.

In 2006, 31% of the Palestinian children killed were 12 years or younger. 8/ The vast majority of children died as a result of injuries sustained either to the head, chest or to more than one place of their body. 9/

@treeees I really struggle to understand how people can defend them. That's awful and criminal

ssd · 27/11/2023 22:32

Ive heard how the Israelis dont allow the released Palestinian people who were jailed, (for really pathetic reasons), they dont allow them to celebrate either inside or outside their homes. If they still have homes of course. They dont allow them to celebrate being happy. They are utter utter bastards. Im so sick of this injustice being perpetrated on these people day in day out. The Israeli police are beyond contempt, beyond comprehension. How can people whose ancestors were treated so appallingly behave like this towards another group of people? I dont understand it at all. It baffles me. And I'm not interested in the pro Israeli contingent on mn pulling my post apart and defending the indefensible. It makes them as bad as the people doing this to the Palestinian people. Utterly indefensible.

I used to quite like Biden. Not now. Anyone who supports this is a complete low life. I knew Sunak was, there's no surprise there.

I never liked him. Always thought he was another trump with a nicer hair cut 🤷🏻‍♀️

There were many reports from on the ground during the siege that they had taken 100 or so bodies and people were speculating about this. Like what reason are they taking dead bodies. I had no idea this was a thing but people were saying it so matter of fact as though they know that this is what they do. I guess up til now my exposure has been very bbc and mainstream. The truth comes out no matter how sophisticated your propaganda is.

treeees · 27/11/2023 22:41

@EasterIssland I've asked mn to remove it, I just realised someone complained the org was biased before on another post. I have no idea if true or not so easier to ask for deletion.
