Shocked by the racist signs at marches

Maybe I’m just severely naive but I’m honestly just shocked at the levels of racism of some of the signs at these marches. It’s just caught me really, really off guard.

Meanwhile my 7 year old has a school trip into London this week and they're having to take security with them instead of parent helpers as it's a Jewish school. Oh what fun!

Sometimes and sometimes no. That was more me explaining to anyone reading why that post was antisemitism and what the poster was saying to wiggle out of it etc. I try to always remember that more people read mumsnet than actually post on it. During covid I used to get private messages for users that said they only read posts. These people would thank me for my posts or wanting to ask me a question. Giraffe will probably say my head is too big now but I think this has made me post in a more educational way on occasion.

@Humdingerydoo Yup, some (actually many) of them are too far gone now. Literally across all these threads. And they've learned how to put their points across without doing an explicit antisemitism as it were, so it's just pointless. It's totally blatant to others anyway because they're not as clever as they think they are.

Oh gosh, I hope your little one has a good time in London. It's awful they effectively need a 'security detail' at that age. It feels scarcely believable this is happening. X

London during the week is fine really. Not a sign of anything that is going on in most places here. I sometimes go up near Edmonton to visit a friend. Yesterday I stopped at a big Tescos there to get a few things on my way, which I have done before. It was really nice to see all the religious Jewish people and all the Muslim people just their walking about doing their shopping. Not nasty looks or weirdness. Just reminded me most people in London mix and are not like what we are seeing on here or at some protests.

So they'll add your name you anonymously if you don't want to publicly support a ceasefire, but they'll publish a list of people who didn't add their names. How does that work then?

This is just heartbreaking. The headteacher telling kids they didn't have to wear their blazers right at the start of this really got me. That was just a few days after the Hamas attacks, before Israel had really retaliated, and Jewish children were already unsafe as a result.

Apparently the police acted quickly once they were informed 80 cars with flags were in convoy. After last time they wanted to stop them accessing Jewish neighbourhoods. They seem to have had a plan to do a drve through etc and then head to the Israeli Embassy.

I mean, someone has even quoted the actual letter back to him and he's still denying that's what he meant! 😂

It was A13 and the Limehouse Link from what the police are saying about the dangerous driving.

However those houses look like they could have been near their from my memory of that part of London. So this footage maybe before or after that.
