Ceasefire will happen if the hostages are freed. So why not shout and protest this instead?

OP posts:
Green777 · 06/11/2023 12:44

Laughing at the people trying still to frame pro Palestine supporters as pro Hamas.

Claiming people that protest the Genocide are supporting Hamas.

Suits their twisted narrative and belief that Gaza deserves this utter total distraction and Genocide bc there’s terrorists among them.

The Warsaw ghetto uprising didn't happen because some Polish Jews attacked Germany and raped, tortured and murdered Germans, but you know that.

MorrisZapp · 06/11/2023 13:27

There was a vigil outside the Scottish Parliament yesterday.

*If I live to be a hundred, I will never forget the people on here who watched Palestinians die in their tens of thousands, and tut tutted about how their slogans made people feel unsafe. I hope it haunts you til your dying day, what you have done, what you have not.

Shame on you.*

Aside from this being over-emotional nonsense, it's embarrassingly naive. I feel no shame at opposing terrorism. If there is a ceasefire now, Hamas will continue to pursue the tenet of its founding charter - to wipe Israel and Jewish people off the map. And then move on to the rest of the Western world.

I would never say anything as pointless and daft as "Shame on you", but if I did, I would direct it at those who are actively supporting a terror organisation. It's mind-boggling, it really is.

It takes a spectacular lack of empathy to come on a thread about Jewish hostages and tell people to feel ashamed for feeling worried about anti-Semetic signs.

MrsSkylerWhite · 07/11/2023 10:17

Why is Netanyahu shelling the very places where he knows the hostages are being held?

Yorkshirelass04 · 07/11/2023 10:20

Everyone wants the hostages freed.

Nobody thinks Hamas are a bunch of angels.

And despite that; people are getting angry at Israel's approach.

Why could that be?

LittleGreenDragons · 07/11/2023 10:44

quiteoldad · 05/11/2023 22:59

LittleGreenDragons · said

"Netanyahu has said there will be a ceasefire if the hostages are released."

This is untrue. What he did say was

"There will be no ceasefire without the return of the hostages."

I was copying what the OP had said twice, but your post actually makes it more chilling.

Explains why he is bombing indiscriminately as he doesn't want them to have the ability to return all the hostages. He wants them dead too so he can raze the whole country.

Repurpose · 07/11/2023 11:10

petuniasandpetals · 05/11/2023 10:25

So surely "FREE THE HOSTAGES" should be the chants?

I agree it would be good if we could demand the release of all hostages held by Hamas and Israel.

petuniasandpetals · 07/11/2023 16:11

Israel has not got hostages. It may have detainees but it doesn't have hostages.

I don't know Netanyahu and I know he is a right winger who has fundamentalists in his coalition but I really don't think he wants the hostages dead. That is a terrible thing to say.

I think they are shelling the areas so they can get to the tunnels.

Israel has kidnapped many children and young men over the years. Yes, many are imprisoned indefinitely too without any charge

I do a double take when I see those who are supporting and protesting in favour of the terrorists, anyone LGBT or female should really stop and take a moment to understand the complexities of the life they would have under the brutal rule of Hamas. There’s a lot of deception and propaganda out there but one thing is for sure, you would not want them as a neighbouring population.

As a woman? But I am seeing female UNWRA workers that are teachers, directors and software engineers that are Gazan? Girls are educated to the same level as boys with no profession barred to them. There are female doctors and surgeons in the hospitals in Gaza that are Gazan (not Drs without Borders workers from abroad)? I am seeing female Gazan journalists reporting? I am reading about Gazan women who own farms being concerned about their crops and live stock?

Hamas isn’t ISIS, the only ways there are similar are Muslim and terrorist. The way women live under their rule is very different between the two. Al Queda in Afghanistan is more similar to ISIS than Hamas in terms of status of women.

Because he doesn’t give a shiny shit about them that’s why 😡

I am similarly concerned about this as are many of the families of the hostages. I think there have been reports that Israel’s bombing by air, sea, artillery and tanks has already killed hostages- how could it not? The hostages are the human shields as they are with Hamas. I keep thinking if Israel really cared, it would do a cease fire and get the hostages out.

The four hostages that have been released have reported that they were for the most part humanely treated.

Ibizafun · 07/11/2023 16:41

The tunnels have to be destructed so that Hamas can never stage a repeat of 7th October. That is why they are shelling.

I don’t think I’ve met anyone who wants to be ruled by terrorists. Palestinian children don’t deserve to be bombed no matter their culture.

I think it is fair to say that Israel is abusing police powers & the IDF to detain Palestinians without charge or reason in an extrajudicial manner. The arrest of peaceful activists and politicians for example. The detainees aren’t technically hostages, but as to whether their detention is legal and doesn’t violate their civil and human rights, that is questionable.

Shelling is more likely to collapse the entrances to the tunnels or obscure them with rubble than allow better access to the tunnels.

I don’t think Nethanyu wants the hostages dead, but he has shown that their lives are not the priority many, including their families, think it should be? When you read comments by IDF officers that say accuracy is less important than damage, what other conclusion can you draw?

Shelling doesn’t destroy tunnels. These are underground bomb shelters.

OP posts:
RebekaTuwin · 07/11/2023 16:58

In fact, say a tunnel is under a building, you shell the building. Building collapses, killing most people inside it. The tunnel now has an extra layer of concrete rubble protecting it from any more shells and its entrance is now easier to hide.

Why do you think they have to do a ground assault? It is because you can only destroy tunnels from inside them.

IDF would have been better off flooding Gaza than shelling it. I doubt the tunnels are water proof to floods. Then Hamas and hostages would be popping up to the surface to avoid drowning.

Ibizafun · 07/11/2023 17:31

Rebekatuwin you seem to know in incredible detail of the lives of women in Hamas. I wonder how that is?
