Beautiful baby laughing

I just watched a video of a beautiful little baby. His mum was making him laugh. I have a 4 month old ds who does that same innocent little laugh. Except this little baby was covered in dust and dirt from being bombed. I can’t stop crying. I can’t believe we’re just allowing this genocide to happen.

I am trying to avoid the awful videos but today I have still managed to see:

-A dead newborn with what looked like shrapnel wounds to the head

-A bench with 6 or 7 beautiful chubby little babies, mostly so young that they are wearing nappies, dead and laid out.

-People picking up body parts in the UN school and throwing them into bags.

-A boy outside the bombed hospital with his legs mangled. I'm not sure if he was dead or alive because when I see videos like that pop up I immediately scroll on.

-A traumatised young boy hysterically telling news cameras that he had carried a decapitated body after a bomb blast.

It's beyond outrageous and fucked up. Shame on the western nations who are supporting this and the disgraceful posters on Mumsnet who continue to defend Israel even after this week's atrocities.

I also have a small baby and this evening I was looking at her and feeling sick thinking about the fates of the little children in Gaza (and the West Bank given the increase in violence there too).

Whyisthissohard96 · 07/11/2023 22:03

@Toothyfruity i also have a young baby and I feel sick every time I see such images. What is happening to those poor children is heartbreaking and needless. everytime I look at my daughter I feel so grateful that she was lucky enough to have been born here, unlike the thousands of poor children who have been murdered for where they were born.

This is the worst thing which has happened in my living memory and I feel disgusted to be part of a country who is supporting it.

7th October

Shhhhivegotasecret · 07/11/2023 22:18

And I have just read about the Israeli mothers who have travelled to raise awareness of their children who were kidnapped by Hamas one month ago.
It is my worst nightmare knowing my children are either or in distress, scared, hurt and I don’t know where they are and cannot comfort them (or not knowing if they are dead or alive) completely excruciating.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 07/11/2023 22:31

It’s devastating for the families and children caught up on both sides. To pull your child mangled from the rubble of your former home must be unbearable but having your child held hostage in a warzone and not knowing anything about where or how they are must be equally unbearable.

Hamas are refusing to release hostages without a ceasefire. Israel are refusing a ceasefire until the hostages are released. Angry men with no compassion for the innocent civilians on either side pushing at each other too back down and both too proud to do it themselves. And it is innocent people who pay the price. At some point you would hope one side would back down and say okay, enough innocent lives lost, but in reality I doubt there is an end to this in sight. Thousands more innocent Palestinian children will lose their lives and most likely the Israeli hostages will too. The whole situation is just harrowing.

HaveALaff · 07/11/2023 22:46

I watch videos and then stop. Then I watch them again and stop.

It's so so awful.

I see my son's face in so many of the children's faces. It breaks my heart. They are so innocent, so so innocent.

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/11/2023 22:50

@mauveiscurious so because some terrorists who are not these children committed an atrocity on other children, thousands of children should die? It’s not even vaguely evening the score, if that would be right either.

justanothernamechangemonday · 07/11/2023 22:50

@mauveiscurious an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.

Wale90 · 07/11/2023 22:53

The utter horror of it.

Please sign the ceasefire petition.
March if you can on Saturday.

For Sunak and Starmer to be backing the depravity makes me feel sick.

fireworksmyass · 07/11/2023 22:54

@mauveiscurious are you this shortsighted to see what happened on the 7th October should happen to thousands of other innocent babies? God save our world from people like you, Netanyahu and hamas!

@mauveiscurious exactly this. If you can hear/see thousands of children dead in their pyjamas, with burns, missing limbs and utter any words other than 'Make it stop' you have a problem...

There is obviously a lot more context for the oppresor/oppressed relationship but quite honestly if you're backing a government who is breaking numerous international laws and who are quite literally stating their intentions of anhilation you need to take a good hard look at yourself.

Let's also not forget that the attacks on Gaza will put the hostages of Oct 7th in grave danger... Which says a lot about netanyahu's care for his own people.

fireworksmyass · 07/11/2023 23:25

Interesting how Netanyahu didn't carpet bomb Hamas on the 7th when they stepped foot in Israel in plain sight. No excuse, wars have rules.

Startyabastard · 07/11/2023 23:38

Dear God, this is terrible. I fear very much for the dear children that have been taken hostage, they may well be raped some of them.
There was a poor little girl who was holding her baby brother when the bombs started and there she was in hospital with him with dust all over him and he was dead. I hope she doesn't feel she could have stopped him getting hurt!

Startyabastard · 07/11/2023 23:39

To add insult to injury (literally), the poor little children that survive will most likely have deep psychological issues for a long time if not all their lives. Vile.

HereLies · 07/11/2023 23:44

Israel has always been like this, inflicts ten times the damage on Palestinians.

Allfourwalls · 07/11/2023 23:59

I read about what's happening and have seen a few photos/videos but my brain just can't comprehend the atrocities that are taking place. They are unimaginable. I feel so helpless that there's nothing we can do.

Growlybear83 · 08/11/2023 00:25

I've seen so many terrible videos and photos of what is being done to the people of Gaza but the one that sticks in my mind more than any was in a video on Al Jazeera yesterday of a young child being carried to a hospital with the top of his head missing and his brain clearly exposed. It was the most horrific thing I've ever seen. What is being done to these innocent people is beyond comprehension. How can a world which has condemned the holocaust for all these years, not to mention other terrible examples of genocide like the Pol Pot regime, be sitting back and allowing Israel to do this to so many innocent Palestinians.

7th October

What about the 30 days since then, in which a total of over 10,000 people were brutally murdered. 10 times more than what happened on 7th October😔 Let alone their starvation, cut off medical supplies, electricity and power for hospitals …. Need I go on? 🙄Meanwhile Israel is living in luxury whilst wiping out entire Palestinian families, with no regard for their hostages. It was never about bringing them back otherwise why would they strike hospitals, refugee camps and schools/churches, and risk killing their hostages? No, this was all about wiping Gaza and Palestine off the map

mauveiscurious · 08/11/2023 06:58

Can we then talk about the millions of gallons of fuel retained for the air-conditioners for the Hamas Tunnels.

Hospitals and water desalination plants are are without energy and cannot produce water as the tunnels come first.

The billions that have gone into the Hamas weaponry and tunnel structures, spent otherwise would have built communities. Instead they have been set on war..

Let's not also forget the Israeli ambulance staff shot in their vehicles helping the wounded.

Hamas does not care for its people or the children. This is about the destruction of Israel.

Are you seriously going to talk about a handful of Israeli ambulance workers and compare those to the massacre that has happened on a daily basis? Doctors who have had to witness their own family being brought in murdered, having to identify them personally? Operating WITHOUT ANAESTHESIA (isn’t that inhumane???). children that have been blown to pieces, to the point where the parents are having to pick up body parts in PLASTIC BAGS.
You have been brainwashed by the media if you believe for one second that billions has been spent on air conditioned tunnels 🙄look at the size of Israel in comparison to what’s left of Palestine. 2.3 million people living in the smallest open air concentration camp. Did you know that prior to 7th October, at least 1,000 Palestinians were killed by Israel every year? Forced out of their homes? No - the media does not show you their horrific crimes.
Anyone standing with Israel after seeing what’s happening on the ground, is standing for genocide. The only real footage that tells you what’s happening, is coming from brave young Palestinians risking their lives. Please have a look at Motaz Azaiza’s footage then come back and tell me that this wasn’t about wiping out Palestinians. This is what it has been for over 75 years when their land was stolen, piece by piece. Would love to see how the Western countries would react had the same been done to them.

Spooky1408 · 08/11/2023 07:58

Also you say ‘Hamas does not care about its people’… I think you’ll find it’s actually Israel that don’t care about its hostages. If a shooter goes into a school, do you carpet bomb the entire school, killing anyone and everyone in it, with no disregard?? Clearly it doesn’t want its hostages back. Netanyahu has already said that Israel will govern over Gaza when the war is over… clearly that was his motive.

Why tell people to evacuate to the south, then start striking the evacuation routes on purpose? Because they are pure evil

mauveiscurious · 08/11/2023 08:57

This isn't a binary argument. The murder of innocents on both sides is horrendous.
I think that this gets forgotten.

Thank you for your insightful contribution to this thread about the genocide of children.

I follow accounts of people on the ground in Gaza and almost none of them put warnings like "sensitive content" warnings on their videos so when watching their stories I have no control over what the next video is and what my eyes see. So when I hope to see updates about what's happening something I see horrific videos of the genocide of children. Given the sheer volume of murdered children it's inevitable.
