Of the 50 journalists on the ground in Gaza (residents) 35 have been killed.

If you haven’t already I highly recommend following them on instagram.

Awful. We soon will only have Israels take on what is happening.

Taking into account how awful they’re documenting everything and out of 4 words they say 5 are lies …

Stomacharmeleon · 19/11/2023 19:43

@EasterIssland I think in this case both sides have a tenuous relationship with the truth.

No thanks to meta too - outright banning and shadow banning any pro-Palestinian content.

Stomacharmeleon · 19/11/2023 20:27

And TikTok is still open to all content.

Gaza's "Ministry of Information." What do you think that is?

Hamas.

It's Hamas.

Are they renowned for their honesty?

Is the right wing Netanyahu Israeli government known for its honesty?
I think not either.
Can we trust a government that is prepared to kill thousands of innocent children to give a reliable account of what is going on?
Hamas are terrorists- of course you can’t rely on their accounts but there is reliable evidence of the atrocities of the IDF

Stomacharmeleon · 19/11/2023 21:52

@Kindatired and who put them in the firing line? Who buried underneath them? Set weapons up on top of them? Dragged the babies and elderly amongst them?
Who left them in that situation.... Hamas.

Kindatired · 19/11/2023 22:18

The scale of the Israeli response is unjustified. Twenty one people were killed in the Birmingham bombings during the Northern Irish troubles. The British didn’t respond by indiscriminately wiping out 11,000 people in Ireland on the premise that that they terrorists were probably on the island somewhere.

11,000 people is the roughly population of Holyhead by the way. (We’ll use the figure 11,000 because I don’t think that you’ll accept the figures supplied by the Gaza Health ministry)

Stomacharmeleon · 19/11/2023 22:24

So kill an equivalent number in Birmingham then? Kill over 1,500 of them.
Rape and butcher them.
Steal their babies and drag them back to Northern Ireland
Don't tell them where their elderly, pregnant and young are. Release tortuous videos online of them being brutalised and use their phones to call home and exhale what has been done.

Even the IRA wouldn't stoop that low....

Haha, no they just found 6 random innocent Irish men and beat them and concocted evidence against them and imprisoned them 16 years.

But thought your example isn't ideal your point is correct. Any reasonable person can see that Israel's response is barbaric and totally disproportionate.

You do realise this kind of shit happens all the time, all over the world? In no other circumstance does my government encourage a brutal retaliation like we see from Isreal.

Like many apologists for the Israeli government actions I see that your response to my posts takes the form of a question.
I think what you are saying is the intensity of the atrocities committed by Hamas is balanced by the scale of the atrocities of the IDF. To follow this argument do you have a sort of points scale along the lines of 1 kill and mutilate is equal to half a clean kill or a quarter of an amputation without anaesthetic or death from burns. Or that maybe the life of an Israeli is worth more than a Palestinian. This is not a good way of thinking and it begs the question as to whether the Israeli government is taking advantage of the desire for revenge among their supporters to carry out ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

Roste · 19/11/2023 23:45

It is sickening to read how many journalists have been murdered by the Israelis. Without their bravery we would not be as informed about the reality of life in Gaza during this round of Israel’s war against civilians. Too many precious lives cut short, may they all rest in peace.

Stomacharmeleon · 20/11/2023 06:45

@Oliotya you may want to look at some history books and also have at look at where the arms we sell end up at the moment regarding several conflicts Saudi?

@Kindatired it's not call of duty love I really don't spend time tallying a point system. I just thought your analogy was particularly poor and not indicative of this situation at all.

Parkingt111 · 20/11/2023 15:02

The CPJ have updated the journalists killed in the current conflict. The updated record shows 43 palestinian journalists have now been killed

The link below shows the names of each one
